Any other great video. I like the way you explain how you’re strapping your loads and how organized you are. Get up the great work on your videos and be careful.
Surely you should receive compensation for being messed around dude. Time is money. I was in it in the eighties and nineties in the UK. Waiting time over the hour I made sure I got paid, if not no more loads done. Drive safe dude.👍😁🇬🇧
Hey Alex, sorry to hear about the bad news this week but hope you have a great week next week and amazing start to May but at the same time thanks for showing that up and downs as an owner operator because that’s part of the business. Unfortunately hope you got your truck fixedand that’s doing well for you. Look forward to your next video.
Hey Alex, from experience I'm going to guess the air ride sensor won't fix it. Ram and Jeep have issues with the air bag systems, and I've seen a lot of airbags having to be replaced. Hope you have better luck than most. Really enjoy your videos, and I am learning a lot. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! My issue wasn’t with my airbags. The bags are working fine. I got a new sensor and it also had to be calibrated. Now everything is good and level.
I really like the pov driving you should do those more 😁. also could you make a vid showing your pre trip routine & what you do before you start driving like eld & trip planing if you do so?
Hey my friend, good to see you busy. I was off for the weekend playing with my grandkids, thank goodness it was time for work!!!!! 😅😅 I hope you made some progress with dispatch, as we used to say in the airlines; "if your wheels are touching the ground, you're not making money". I guess the same applies with truckin', our wheels need to be turning... Anyway, on my way to NY. Guess I'll go aggravate some leftist liberals. Sorry to hear about your truck, a big rig is looking better all the time.
New to the hotshot game and wondering how long did it take to start getting decent loads? Most places are looking for months experience at least...is that normal? Any advice...
No advice honestly. Just patience. When I started with new authority I was actually getting a good amount of loads. Not everyone would work with me but bigger companies like TQL and Landstar and some others would. A lot of brokers want 3-6 months before they’ll work with you. Don’t give up. Many brokers work with new authority.
Thanks for the response does it matter where you are because we are out of Chicago, any particular load board that you would suggest or particular broker to go through? I'm just the driver for the small company just wanted some advice IF you had any I could pass on to my ppl....
@@jeromejackson3518 Chicago always has loads. Overall doesn’t matter where you are. It’s about getting lucky. The two biggest load boards everyone uses are Truckstop and DAT.
I can’t really say if it’s good or bad to start now. The market is bad now for all drivers including semi. You’ll have good weeks and bad weeks but I can’t give advice on starting in this industry. In reality nothing has changed over the past half a year. Loads are still cheap and the good ones are hard to grab because there are so many drivers fighting for the same loads.
I understand that there is a lot of crime and violence IN Detroit as a rule. Hopefully you didn't incur any while you were there. We follow a TV meteorologist that WAS in Orlando (OUR tv market) that has moved to Detroit and he seems to like it there so far.
Like any city, Detroit will have its good neighborhoods and rough ones. I have never encountered any problems in Detroit but have driven through rough areas.
I really hope you got paid for truck ordered not used because you’re supposed to be paid for that. I’m sure you’re Broker got paid. Where is your money?
Sorry to hear about your sliw week. Hope you truck gets fixed! Stay strong, you rock it!!!
Thank you! Got the truck fixed but the slow weeks aren’t changing 🤣🤣🤣

Sorry for your not so good week Alex! Hope you have a good week ahead.
Great job securing the odd shaped load. I never used to tarp but found if you want to stay loaded, it’s not an option. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Yes unfortunately a lot of loads require a tarp especially in winter so have to get used to it if you’ve never done it.
What up doe .. in my hometown

New subscriber here Alex. Love watching your videos. You’re really good at hot shot.
Thank you! Happy to hear you enjoy the videos. Thank you for your support. 👍🏻
Did your PJ Trailer come with winch tracks or did you have them installed?
Another good one brother. Keep it up, be safe out there if you’re ever in the Nashville area give me a holler and I’ll buy you lunch.
Thank you! I’ll take you up on the offer if I’m ever there. 👍🏻

Yes I’ll try to do more pov driving and my pre trip as well.
Love these hotshot vids so inspiring
Thank you!
Looks like your dispatcher does a great job, i'm giving some serious thought to hiring one, but the majority that call can't speak english lol
That is true. A lot of them are hard to understand.
Let me know if you’re still interested in a dispatcher. I’m from East Tennessee and have been dispatching for the last 4 years.
Hey Alex, will you please share detail on the tablet mount you have in the truck?
I have Arkon brand from Amazon.

Great video. I’m not a hotshot driver and never will be but I really enjoy the content. Why do you think shippers are canceling loads on you?
Thank you! Well then loads that cancelled were probably due to miscommunication between shipper and broker.
You're organization 👦 guy!
Alex, when you put the strap over the load do you give it a half turn on just one side or both?
Usually on both.
Quick ? Alex how’s that ram doing ? Or would you have a ford ?
Happy with the Ram. Never had a Ford so can’t compare.
That's where I'm at Oklahoma city you should of told bro we could of grab some lunch
I had no way of knowing 🤷♂️

Is that a 40ft trailer? Whats your average per week? We have hotshot 35ft we average 3k week in mostly Southeast. Would love to get 5k average
That is a 40ft. Average is probably around 6k.

That you have to find on your own.

I got paid for the one that I actually arrived to and they cancelled but the others I didn’t get paid because they cancelled before I went to them.
You get paid tonu the moment the rate con is signed.
