Whether lounges are worth it depends on a bunch of factors. Does your home airport have a decent lounge? Do you typically arrive very early at the airport, or do you have PreCheck and head straight for the gate right as they start to board? Do your flights have long layovers, or are you mostly flying nonstop? Do you eat at the airport at all and want to save money by going to the lounge instead for a free meal?
For me, I occasionally go into the lounges. I usually don’t arrive at the airport early enough to spend time in there. My home airport’s lounges aren’t anything to write home about. The overwhelming majority of my flights are nonstop, so I don’t have layovers to go to a lounge. It’s nice to have in the event of a flight delay or if its a very early flight and want to grab some breakfast from the lounge, but it’s not critical for me.
I've used the US Bank Altitude Reserve at Priority Pass Restaurants. Most recent was earlier this year.
I just used the US Bank Priority Pass with my Altitude Connect at Bobby Van's Grill at JFK. Paid with my Altitude Go for the extra points.
Airport lounges can seem like a splurge or a luxury, but I think they’re a really practical way to save money on food. Cards like the Hilton Surpass and the Venture X don’t feel like I’m spending money for the lounge access, and I’m definitely saving money at the airport while also not hating my airport experience. Totally practical IMO.
Thank you lol JFK nyc one cookie was $6 I refuse smh
Some ppl cannot think what is not being presented.
🥂Great cards and information Sebby! I really enjoy having Priority Pass! Labeling priority cards is a great idea! Having free priority pass and AUs on the Venture X is 💪It was great meeting you at the creator meet up! Keep up the great work 🫵
Is it weird that I put on an AskSebby playlist before bed and sleep to it? 😂 😅
it’s comforting for some reason 🥂
Ironically, you're not the first one to say that 😅
Sebby’s videos have a somniferous side effect . . . 😴
🥂We run with the personal Amex Platinum for all of our lounge access, since we also mostly fly Delta, so we get the Centurion Club + Delta Sky Club + Priority Pass lounges. It's a card that works well for us since all of the perks and credits are for things we would use or are able to use anyway.
Not sure I've had a solid Priority Pass experience yet, but can't complain about any quiet space where I can hopefully get a snack and a coffee!
🥂 I recently changed my chase convoy to a Ritz. It made the most sense. I have a CSP and it'll be at least 2 years before I could get a CSR bonus. Since this has the 6 hour clock on delays- I went with it. Ive used about 175 in airline fees but haven't yet called chase so I hope its not a hassle. Haven't yet used a lounge or a PP restaurant! Thanks for all your great and informative content
🥂Personally, I use the VX for my Priority Pass lounge access right now. However, I do plan on getting the Ritz card next year, so that card may replace the Venture X at that point. Nice video as always Sebby!
🥂 great video Sebby, its still is crazy that the CSR is still the only one that gives you a REAL Priority Pass.
I travel about twice a month. Sometimes to LA or New York. Lounges are a game changer but playing lately is so bad I’m just driving at this point. Hotels have lounges as well. They aren’t as crowded as airport lounges. Point is, don’t get the card for just the airport lounge. Look to see if you can get into hotel lounges
The Citi American Airlines Executive card has a strong priority pass program, which includes lounges and restaurants. Also, the Altitude Reserve priority pass includes restaurants not only lounges.
I have the venture x and authorized usered my entire extended family in the US. I haven’t got a chance to travel yet but they have used the lounges for many times and loved it❤😊
Nice!
Personally, I use the Venture X for my Priority Pass lounge access right now. However, I do plan on getting the Ritz card next year, so that may replace that. Nice video as always Sebby!
You have mentioned that BofA PRE has only 4 visits but actually it is unlimited visits with 4 memberships. 8:54
Good catch!
With restaurants.
Thanks for sharing the correction (you beat me to it ;-).
I believe the BOA PRE is one of the top choices for Priority Pass as it is unlimited access, includes restaurants, and additional users including same PP privileges. Important to note that the additional PP memberships cannot be changed at a later time (these are fixed for the life of the account). Also, for this specific cc, the PP membership is in digital format only, I.e., no physical card will be mailed out even if calling in to request it.
AskSebby, thank you for the your ongoing creation of valuable and and practical content you continue to share with the community; much appreciated!!
@@XterraRocksCSR and Ritz are still king because they have unlimited visits and unlimited users.
US Bank Altitude reserve does cover restaurants I believe. I still see restaurants on my app and I visit a restaurant earlier in 2023 and got $28 credit for my visit or $56 with a guest
Made it to the end! 🥂
:)
For the Amex Business Platinum, your numbers of $400 + $200 + $120 for credits would be a total of $720, not $620, so that exceeds the Annual Fee, not being $75 Effective AF.
Yeah, that was the weirdest thing about this video. Usually his math is pretty spot on, but this was a big miss on this video. I have three Biz Plats and value the credits at $720 as well, so I'm getting $25+ in value from each card.
🎉 thank you
Just booked 7 nights at the Conrad Bora Bora for Aug 2024 with points and free night certificates. Thanks for all the information you provide !
with credit card points or you paid
Venture X guest is unlimited on paper but some lounges don't care. I was limited to 2 guest in RAK and AGA
True, individual lounge policies may vary.
I have 5 AUs on the card so 😂😂😂😂. Cards locked and in the binder 😂😂😂
If you fly Alaska out of Seattle you want restaurant access as the 2 lounges are really out of the way. The folks at the C and N food places always bag it to go so you can grab food and drinks quickly before a flight
🥂 Lounges are the BEST! Can’t imagine flying without access to them.
🥂 I go under 5/24 in November which is when I'll apply for the Boundless. Hopefully I'll be able to product change into the Ritz-Carlton in November or December next year. 🙏
🥂 Could you consider a video on the altitude reserve? I understand the weak prior pass and no transfer partners, but the effective 4.5x on all mobile wallet payments seems fantastic, and honestly beats the venture x for me
It is a better card than VX who depends on its portal for benefits. AR has endured with its mobile wallet benefit, even as other cards have been nerfed or increased their annual fees. I think vloggers just don't promote it as much as the VX due to referrals.
🍷🍷 ; closest I could get to the champagne glasses🤷♀ .... Thanks for great video
🥂just got the Ritz a month ago!!🎉🎉 Sebby, could you do a review on the Bonvoy Brilliant being a keeper card? Or all your personal/business keeper cards? Thanks!
So just to make sure about the unlimited guests on the ritz card because in the past it was mentioned that it was limited to one guest.
Technically it's true, but individual lounges have the power to limit the amount of priority pass users for their lounge 🤷
Still though, the fact that you can add unlimited authorized users that each get their own priority pass and global entry / TSA PreCheck credit is some major 🧀🧀🧀😂😂😂
Thanks! 🥂Was on my list to check which PP with what as I may dump a card or 2. PDX, so I’ll stick with Chase ecosystem one way or another.
I just used the Altitude reserve at a priority pass restaurant at SFO in June. Unless things have changed since then, it does seem to cover the cardholder and a guest.
I haven't been to an airport lounge. Hopefully soon since I have the Hilton Surpass card. Hoping to get the Ritz card next year since I just opened the Boundless card last week. 🥂
Great video sir question I have the Hilton Business Card and Hilton Surpass Card I thought that I would get value but didn’t, Can I downgrade both cards to the Hilton No annual fee card? Thanks for sharing🥂🥂
My favorite priority pass lounges are no doubt the Air France Lounge at any given airport and the Air China First Class Lounge in Beijing!🎉
Air France doesn’t accept priority pass anymore. Please check their website.
Sound fun! Just because! Trool gang!
🥂 Hey you mention the AmEx Platinum card has tons of lounges...am I missing any?
I know about Priority Pass, Centurion and Delta (if flying Biz/1st class only right?). Thanks!
The altitude reserve does work for pp restaurants
Fly ANA JFK > Haneda. Used to be able to get into Alaska Air at JFK and ANA lounge at Haneda. Both have discontinued priority pass.
The Delta & centurion lounge 🎉🥰 sadly don’t have a centurion where I’m from
Only United AkA chase lounges
Just recently used my Ritz-Carlton priority Pass a couple of weeks ago with my fiance during a layover in MIA for both travel directions. Ate at the Corona Beach House restaurant both times. Was given a 30.00 credit for both. 60.00 credit total applied to final bill both times.
$60 each visit or $30?
$60 each visit or $30?
@@Re3iRtH 30.00 per person for each visit. Two of us together made it 60.00 both times.
Hi, liked the video. I am currently on the reserve card. I do not travel much. And out of O’Hare. I would like video on free TSA global entry.
🥂 A video about airport lounges? How can I do anything but rave about the Ritz-Carlton card! I recently added my in-laws as authorized users (for free) so they could all have free Priority Pass for an international flight. They all loved it ❤
Nice!
🥂The Bank of America Elite Card allows up to 4 additional Priority Pass Users (Not visits) with Restaurants at NO additional charge. This makes the BoA Elite card Priority Pass one of the best Priority Pass Cards (Probably THE best).
Yea ppl forget the BoA card includes PP restaurants. However, not unlimited visits like the CSR and Ritz which are king and queen.
🥂 I have the Amex Hilton Surpass, on avg I take 2 or 3 flights a year so 10 visits is currently enough. I may upgrade to the Aspire in the future if my travel upticks.
The Aspire is not really an upgrade. You might want them both. The Surpass is better for your everyday spend.
Please make an overview for cards issued in Grenada
Do authorized users of the Bonvoy Brilliant and Amex Platinum still get their own PP cards?
🥂 $$…. The Ritz Carlton and VX are great cards. It’s a shame you have to wait a year to product change to the Ritz Carlton and be under 5/24. Pairing the Ritz Carlton with a CSP looks like it would be a good setup set for travel / Marriott stays.
Iceland lounge is great.
I have a venture x and have been going to the Virgin Atlantic lounge at JFK for months now outside of the priority pass time window. But apparently sometime this month venture x stopped their partnership with virgin Atlantic. Do you have insights into this?
Ritz, plat and aspire are all my keepers
Same!
Still have the Citi prestige and love that card, but I agree the $300 incidental travel credit on the RC card is a bit annoying for many, but IYKYK LoL
Lots of IYKYK stuff I can't talk about for obvious reasons :)
I’m the member of United Airlines Explorer Mileage plus so am I eligible to use any lounge ?
I haven’t gone to a PP lounge in a while. I try to go to Amex lounges when I can. So far my fav is LGA then IAH, DFW. Not a fan of SFO.
🥂 The Altitude Reserve has Priority Pass Restaurants! What was said in your video and some blog sites are a false rumor that won't die.
How do you hit Lark Creek when flying American? Don’t you have to leave terminal 1 security for that?
I used my priority pass at SFO and the Air France lounge only gave us a sandwich and coffee or soda. We could no go in the lounge with economy and premium economy tickets. 😕. British airlines let us in just during thier open times.
🥂Ever consider a guide on how to receive an elevated intro bonus when you already have that card? Love the videos!
Can you clarify? :) For most issuers, you'd have to cancel and then be past their 24/48 month clock.
US Bank Altitude Reserve has Priority Pass Restaurants.
I just came to the comments section to say this. I'm not sure who started that no restaurants rumor.
I just came to the comments section to say this. I'm not sure who started that no restaurants rumor.
Yes
I've had Hilton Surpass' Priority Pass for 10 months, and I've yet to go into a lounge😂😂
Perhaps now that I have the Sapphire Reserve I'll take advantage of that...
Ritz Carlton is the best. Unlike C1 & AX, RC includes Be Relax massages, Minute Suites, and restaurants, plus unlimited authorized users and unlimited guests. I average 200+ flights per year.🥂
🥂So you have all these keeper cards, but which card do you use for spending to rack up miles or points?
Example, I have a gold card and bonvoy brilliant. In the winter I drive to a lot of ski destinations so I try to rack up bonvoy points. But I torn if it would be better to use the gold card for MR points. Is there a utility formula or will it differ on needs
Bonvoy earn rate * value of Bonvoy
vs.
Amex earn rate * value of MR
if it's 4X vs. 4X then it's easy (MR has more optionality).
6X Bonvoy vs. 4X MR becomes a tougher question and will depend on your redemptions.
US bank altitude reserve covers P.P. restaurants
No lounges for me, I fly out of Tampa with the assist of my Southwest Priority. Nothing to C in Airside C.
Bummer :(
🥂 I toast Sebby’s “lucky 13” Priority Pass cards!
Hey Sebby!! Thanks for your descriptive video. You mentioned you were at the Air France lounge yesterday was that in SFO? If so the lounge must have reopened after the remodeling. I checked priority pass app and it says SFO Air France lounge is still closed to priority pass. Not sure what the situation is now with AF lounge at SFO. Thanks in advance 😀
🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂
The Air France lounge I visited was not at SFO 😅 It's been a crazy week of last min travel.
Offlate I am seeing Priority Pass lounges are getting less common. For example - there are no Priority Pass lounges available in major airports like LAX, Austin etc.
Do you have to keep creating new usernames for new cards?
How do I apply for the card
Priority Pass was not good in Manila. Had long waiting list. At Incheon airport in Korea, it was good.
What sucks though is there is no priority pass lounge at lax.
I torn. I currently have the AMEX Hilton Surpass card. I understand the Priority Pass is going away. Not sure what card I can get to replace it. I'm considering the CO Venture X and the Chase Saphire.
Venture X feels like the easiest swap in (especially if you have a Player 2). No wrong move really :)
If you're on the fence:
Venture X calculator: www.asksebby.com/credit-card-reviews/capital-one-venture-x
CSR calculator: www.asksebby.com/credit-card-reviews/chase-sapphire-reserve-calculator
Let me know what you end up getting!
(could also do Venture X as the earner and then CSP for the bonus)
Not absolutely relevant, but im just a year in on my Bonvoy Boundless. Im wondering if i should wait 1 more year with the Boundless to be eligible for bonuses on thr Bonvoy Brilliant and Business cards, or should i just upgrade to the Ritz Carlton card now in fear of the latter being discontinued within 12 months...
After 2 year with the Boundless, apply for the Amex Biz and Brilliant, and then PC Boundless to Ritz.
I prefer 2 SUB > Ritz.
Or you can PC to Ritz, then after year 2, PC back to Boundless, apply for Amex x2, then PC back to Ritz
🥂 do you know if we can use the $300 ritz carlton travel credit to cover part of the United economy plus seats subscription?
Yes, that's what it's meant for.
how do I save on my United Club Chase card? By slamming 6 whiskey cokes before departure at each lounge I hit. highly recommend.
Those are rookie numbers!
No Admiral’s Club?
The AMEX Hilton Surpass is a sneaky good card. Many people don’t need more that 10 visits per year. The sign on bonus is worth $785 and the multipliers are great on so many spending areas and you can upgrade the Gold Status on Hilton to Diamond and the free Hilton night is not hard to get either. I actually dumped my Amex Platinum for this card.
Nothing wrong with SFO, I miss flying Air France out of that airport.
Does anyone know if priority pass can be gifted?
As long as u use it, its well worth it
Agree!
So I made the mistake of just kind of storing all of my various priority pass cards and now no longer know which goes with which membership. Is there an easy way to tell which of the priority pass membership is attached to which credit card?😂
When you say "Includes Restaurants", what does that mean? free food? thanks for the nice comparison video!!
Some are restaurants. Amex PP ~does not cover those: www.prioritypass.com/lounges/usa/san-francisco-ca-intl/sfo16d-lara-creek-grill
When i look, it says the Altitude Reserve still does include restaurants 🤔anyone have any recent dps?? And i still see the resturaunts on the app
As of June it did work at SFO priority pass restaurant.
@@califlorican thank you!
in my opinion, US Bank is one of the most underrated card issuers
I think they're in a weird spot where they don't have a strong brand. It makes sense for team cash back and "maybe travel" but lacks the cachet of Amex/Chase/CO. Citi is also in a weird spot where they have an identity as a travel card.
The BoA PRE isn't 4 free PP visits, it's 4 free AUs per card (each with unlimited visits) and includes restaurants. IMO it sits just below the Ritz card as far as PP goes.
Have you confirmed that the PP from BofA PRE includes restaurants? BoA marketing materials and online reviews are not clear about that.
You are correct about 4 additional Priority Pass users. But I do not see any mention of restaurants benefits in the Premium Elite benefits description.
www.managerewardsonline.bankofamerica.com/cms/published/root/duo/sharedContent/premiumelite/pdf/RewardsBenefitsGuide.pdf
@@Al-so1bzI have the card. It has restaurants.
@@Al-so1bz I don’t know where the T&C appear publicly online, but I have the card and it does include restaurants.
which airport lounges give access to both departure and arrival?
Delta via Amex Platinum (this might change) + many PP lounges (but YMMV on front desk person)
Doesn’t BOA Elite card also include restaurants?
My understanding was no, but let me know if your experience has been different :)
Sebby, Do you know if an Amex card that I was approved for but doesn’t show up as a hard inquiry on your credit report counts towards 5/24? 🥂
It will once it shows up on your credit report if it's a personal card.
@@daroldhunterit’s been 6 months and it never showed on my report
The card isn't showing up or the inquiry isn't showing up? If the card is showing up on your credit report, it will count towards 5/24. Typically with Amex, after you're approved for your first card, any subsequent cards are soft pulls. Therefore, the inquiry will not show on your credit report.
🥂 🥂 🥂

🎉
🥂🥂🥂
I have all of the ones on the list with above $100 AF haha. I need to cut down probably 😂
Same 😂
Q?- delta sky miles reserve. Anyone know if I already have the AMEX Plat I won’t get the intro miles or anyone gone through this? Terms say May also not be eligible to receive welcome offer based on various factors, such as history with credit card balance transfers, history with Amex and # of open/closed cards.
Delta Reserve and Amex Plat are two separate products. You can get an intro bonus for each.
@@AskSebby thank you. Considering letting go my Amex plat and getting that one instead. But of course wait til I get the reserve to do that. Sadly the plat isn’t paying off.
What about Africa?
🥂🥂🥂🥂 sebby I’m in houston we will fly you out and get a dope hotel room for u
You never mention car rental coverages. Very important
Discussed here: th-cam.com/video/E_LyawGxAz4/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=AskSebby
Usually a lower interest topic. TLDR, get a card that has primary CDW and you're usually in the clear.

i thought you said *party pass*
You are WRONG on the Captital Ine Venture card. I have it and it DOES NOT offer priority pass.
The regular Venture isn't on this list. It's the Venture X.
