Thanks for the link and discount. I purchased it Saturday night. Ur testing of the Square LM (along with other content creators) helped me decide to upgrade from my r10 unit. Gotta wait til mid December but it should be a huge upgrade from the constant misreads and lack of putting I am currently stuck with 😂
Used your discount link this weekend. First time simulator purchase so hoping it all goes well. I don’t need perfect accuracy every shot. I have kids and hoping the swing stick might be an easy way to start them into golf. Thanks again for the videos
Nice, yeah this may not be perfect but for the money as I talked about it is great! Let me know how it goes, I am sure you guys will really enjoy it. Thanks for watching!
Just order the Square LM with your discount code, I've seen enough good things about this unit from you and other reviewers that it made the decision alot easier. This will be my first attempt at a golf sim and would like to get any recommendations on other things I might need within my budget. Hitting mat insert, sim enclosure, lighting etc...
Awesome. I mean, I just had a PGA professional over here testing the unit and he was commenting about how people looking for a budget solution. Should be thrilled to have this type of accuracy and options for the money. 👍
Found a bug. In Square’s range mode, if you select the driver option and hit undotted ball with any club, the spin number down to the 50%. But if you select iron option and hit, both driver & irons work fine. Looks like they’ll release another patch soon. The numbers themselves are very consistent, and it reads face angle well.
Ahh interesting. Yeah I would never play with a normal ball with no measured spin, so wouldn’t have found that. Report it and I’m sure they will get it fixed.
Love the videos which informed my decision to go with the Square launch monitor. I just noticed though that all Square Golf items are off your website. Did something happen?
Can you get someone in there hitting driver around your speed or higher who spins it more? I feel like using that softer ball that already spins a bit less + your very low back spin is probably giving the cameras and algorithms a harder time on figuring out what side spin would be.
Yeah I’ll see what I can do, or I can switch to a high spinning setup to test. I purposely talked about that in the video because knuckleballs. I’m sure our little harder to see the movement, especially at higher speeds.
Another great video! I’m curious your thoughts on this and eye mini lite. I know there’s a price difference obviously but if you were to buy either one and comfortable with both price points would you still go with EML?
Thank you! So they are different animals for sure as MINI LITE is wired and no iOS or Android options as well as no free subscription free GSPRO integration like this currently offers. It does used marked balls as MINI lite does not and MINI LITE has excellent accuracy and a bigger hitting area along with nice VIEW software that offers swing camera integration, balance mat etc. They are very different for sure so it probably depends on the users and budget for what they feel is the best value for them if that makes sense.
It’s not rally an opinion that eye mini lite is a higher end unit. It uses non marked balls, has a bigger hitting area, and more precise measurements. All as it should for a higher price, right? It comes down to personal preference. EML can’t do iOS or android and needs a hardwired PC so some might want the squares abilities like that. Both are a good value at their price points in my opinion.
Great update info. I purchased the Square from your link. Thanks for that. One question, I noticed that the club data is not showing up in GSPro. Is that going to be coming in the future? Also when using the native software to see the club data, can you see the results in pervious shots taken in range mode. Thanks
Do you see any reason to choose this over the MLM2Pro ? I currently use the Garmin R10, which I feel is great for speed & distance, but obviously is inconsistent with side-spin. The next-up units would be the Square or the MLM2P, but all the reviews (including your own) seem to show that the MLM does excellent for side-spin. Thoughts?
The main reason I know people choosing this is no subscription, official easy Gspro connection, and putting. Mlm2pro the choice for many when they plan on using it outdoors and like the swing video and impact vision.
This is exactly my situation. Tired of the misreads on my r10. Was planning to go with the mlm2pro. Looking at the square now too. I think the biggest downside to square is it hasn't been proven as accurate as mlm2pro. Also the golf ball, I would get the prov1 rpt balls. Who knows what these balls are with the square. They definitely need new ball options
I am a super low spin knuckler as well if I’m high on face, in to out, and closed face. Have you tried a high spin head? You mentioned low spin head and shaft. I can spin it 1200 with a LS head and 2000 with same head in max version
Yeah I’m going to compare for sure. When I’m on with this setup it’s bombs and I’m happy but if I get a little stuck way up and high on the face it can be a dead sailor haha
Thank you for your content regarding this unit as well as the discount code. Do you have any information if these will arrive before Christmas? Also I was wondering how dark it has to be to use this unit as it is indoor only. If I wanted to bring the unit somewhere and just do putting is that doable? Thanks!
I can't guarantee arrival time, but I know they said the hopes are mid December so I would think you will be good. This unit is indoor only unless you use it outdoor on a mat and not in sunlight which would work fine. Honestly I think if out of sunlight outside on a putting green I think it would work. I might try to test it asap out on the GSV green and report back :) Just such bad weather right now here in Michigan, it was just snowing lol. Thanks for watching!
On this note, if used in a garage that has windows would that be to much sunlight? The sunlight concern is when the light is flooding in towards the cameras correct ?
Do you have any updates on the status of this company? The seller in your link does not have it showing for sale. The square golf website has the unit available for shipping. I am reluctant to place an order to England given the unusual availability with well known outlets. Other than the above I like the info that you have provided in the videos. Just waiting to pull the trigger.
Would you say this reads shot shapes better than the garmin r10? That’s what I have currently and like it a lot but on course I do a lot of shot shaping and know what I can do. The garmin never seems to give me what I’m looking for (for the most part) this looked like it took shot shaping pretty well. Thoughts?
Yes, this has an advantage it is measuring spin axis vs R10 is using a calculation. It’s impossible for R10 to take into affect any gear affect as it does not know where the ball hit on the face. R10 does great outdoors, just has some weakness indoors. Square also offers putting and very short solid chipping. Square is not perfect as I have show, but for the money its a good value and tons of users are reporting back they are very happy. They also have been working on the firmware for square already a nice spin axis improvement and I have shaped a lot of shots and it is reading quite well and no opposite curvature which I experienced with R10.
This device made my rapsodo worthless in no time, all the data free to use, better graphics from the get go, subscription that does not make you pay the device over and over, I’m kinda sad about that, but well, getting the square this week, can’t wait.
Thanks for watching! I think it comes down to personal preference for sure. Some love MLM2Pro for the outdoor use, swing camera, and impact image. Others do not use it outdoors and want no subscription, and putting etc. Both have unique features for sure.
I feel you! I sold my MLM2 Pro. Even with the update they launched the graphics were still, in my opinion below average! I got rid of it and I am ordering the Square!

I have not had a zero yet but had some very low ones still consistently enough to where they probably want to keep looking at improvement if possible but overall good results as you can see. Thanks for watching
Question: my simulator space is kind of narrow so I have to be pushed fairly close to the right side... Can you adjust the square, like you can with the Gc3 for a room configuration to move the target line closer to the right side of screen? Also, I live at 3500' elevation, Is there any adjustment for elevation or to increase carry to match my playing conditions where I live? Thanks for all your reviews!!
Yes, that all has to do with software offset, GSPRO allows for software offset and elevation settings. You can play course elevation or local where you set the elevation. Thanks for watching!
My fear in the update is that they just got the system to give a spin value even if not properly captured instead of showing 0. Hope it is sorted soon. Do yo think there is an real improvement?
I do like the curvature I’m seeing better than before. The super low side spin it’s a little suspect and I plan to test a lot more. Wanted to give everyone a first look unedited as always ya know.
Definitely some super low ones. Don’t get me wrong I get some low ones with anything sometimes but a few of these I felt for sure had more side spin. Glad to see they are improving and I was happy with the shot shaping.

Noticed on quite a few of your shots, that total spin is the same as back spin? does that seem accurate?
