Hey Bryan! Isn’t this place fun to visit? Every time I visit it’s like discovering cove for orchid and plant lovers. It a massive place. It’s impossible to see everything in one day. The tiny flower orchids were so awesome. They seemed to have allot of this tiny ones in bloom. I loved the Paph beliatulum. Wow! So many different maxillarias. When you got to the cart of Cattleyas, you actually showed the first white one with pinkish lip that i bought there last year. It bloomed for me last month. It has a great fragrance. I want to take home the Cattleya maxima coerulea. 😮 Also the boweringiana coerulea was intense. Great show. 💚

@@naturenel this place is incredible! I would take home so many more orchids if i had the space! The Cattleya maxima coerulea is absolutely amazing! Sometimes I think about making a separate area to grow it! How could you go wrong with all the blooms on one stem?! You should try a phrag, Nelson! You can’t overwater it and it like Cattleya level light! And I’ve heard the biggest challenge is that it needs to be repotted every year to avoid the hard salt levels on the roots! Otherwise, mine grow so well and easy!

Since there were strong thunder storms last night, I was watching some of the video premiere.
I was worried when I first watched the video because it didn't look like much was in bloom except for some here and there.
31:23 The dendrobium section was my favorite.
38:32 This cattleya section was also pretty nice.
39:37 Favorite orchid from the tour.
I remember Ecuagenera having a bunch of barerooted cattleyas at the Nutmeg State Show. The lady looked at me like an alien when I asked if there were any Richard Mueller hybrids. 😁

Does the Cattleya at 47:30 have the pattens of a virus on the petals?

      Did look virused

@@Nvorchidsurprising that they keep it on the bench. It may infect others nearby.
I buy plants from Ecuagenera. Years ago a Cattleya maxima I bought from them was virused. Other plants i had tested positive and discarded them except one with sentimental value. I can not know what was infected first, but it’s surprising to see a likely virus infected orchid on the bench.

So many beautiful flowers. I can definitely follow your enthusiasm for the colours of the coerulea maxima and bowringiana, though I wouldn't describe them as blue. One concern: The flower at 54:15 looks like colour break. I would definitely pass it over. Of course, plants are living things, and even the best nurseries aren't immune to getting a virused plant, but this plant should probably be destroyed.

@@OrchidsByBryan Guarianthe bowringiana has perhaps the richest coerulea colour in the Cattleya-related genera. Shame about the shape, though - hey, I'm all about the big unifoliates. 🤣
