Absolutely an orchid paradise. Ya know how we always say "Gee, I wish I could buy one of everything"? Well, Mercedes has accomplished that goal! Truly a beautiful area, and it's obvious to see how knowledgeable she is and how dedicated to caring for her plants. I like all the hanging baskets etc, but those of us growing our plants in a cold climate and having to bring them indoors for several months each year, preclude that from a viable method of growing since watering would be a nightmare. I wish both of you all the best. Oh, btw, if some evening she finds someone sitting in her garden, don't worry, it'll be me enjoying the ambiance. I'll buy the drinks. I have questions about the use of Cal Mag. You mentioned it fairly early in the tour and I wasn’t sure if Maria is using it for yellowing of leaves post hurricanes and/or cold weather? Towards the end, Maria talked about it more and I think she switches from her regular fertilizer regime to only Cal Mag from November to February? I use MSU fertilizer which has calcium and magnesium and the tap water is hard so I am thinking using Cal Mag too would be too much? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated 😊
She uses Cal Mag during this season once a month together with her fertilizer. During the growing season she slows the Cal Mag a bit and then increases it again during rainy seasons and extreme hot weather. Feeding orchids is diverse due to environmental conditions in each collectors location. Her regimen is simply a guide not a standard. You can test out your orchids and observe them closely to see the results and reactions to the feeding.

I found out later that it's fragrant and is also known as the "Alien Orchid." 👽 46:16 I didn't know about this hybrid. 15:16 I saw lizards three times when I was in Hawaii. 🦎 They seem to go well with orchids. My favorites (Queens of the Month 👑): 21:00, 40:24, 43:18 (Rlc. Chia Lin?), and 48:41.
Thanks for the identification. After looking through it carefully, the orchid you are referring to does not have the mustard yellow in the throat of the flower. It’s very close to it, but not the same flower.
