Did you have any issues with it not having a xx.bin file? When I download it's not a zip file and is a xx.rar file. I'm following the steps in this video and not having any success.

No problem. I think Voxelab has a lot on their plate in terms of growing pains and they are a bit slow to provide full details on everything because of it. I am confident that will change though. In the meantime, I'll try to help. :)

I'm from Russia. and could not flash the printer according to our sources. No one explains qualitatively. After watching this video without a translator, I understood how to flash it and it worked. Thank you
It's actually a bunch of different little apps and such running together and some icons I made. Check out Rainmeter. It blew my mind when I first found it.

This is my 2nd printer, i bought a Mbot cube Dual kit a long long time ago & used it a bunch (1500hours roughly) but then slowly got out of 3d printing untill now. The Aquila is soooooooooooooooo quiet compared to my old Mbot cube you can hardly compare them!! haha Cheers for the help btw, ive been printing fine out of the box & just updated it all fine. oh btw my Aquila came with 5.1 & i just updated to 5.5, it also came with enough filament to print the aquila test & 3/4 of the toolbox lol

Thanks for posting the process. I just got my Aquia. Unfortunately mine came shipped with bad / incomplete firmware where the display was only 3 lines of text all in Chinese. The good news is per Voxelab support I needed to just update the firmware, which your instructions were follwable theirs were harder to follow... Oh and apparently I am lucky in that they are still shipping the G32 machines and I got one...
Thank you for the video. I am still having a problem with the first part. I loaded the xx.bin into a firmware file and placed in the Aquila as instructed. However, it remains stuck in the loading line (an orange line) with no check mark. The second part does as it should going from blue screen to orange after loading the SD card into the screen part but now it is frozen is there any way to go back.or fix the first part?

I have an Voxelab Aquila I believe it is a G32 and have added a 3D touch to it. I downloaded the Firmware from their site and loaded it on the SD card as instructed. Then did the Firmware for the Screen. When I turn the machine on It shows Voxelab Boot window, but does not have any selections on the screen display. I cannot get passed the Boot screen. Any ideas?
Great video. thanks for the instruction. Could you make your screens larger for the folders that you are changing parameters in ? The information & numbers are sometimes washed out a little because its a little to small.
Could you update these instructions for the Alex H32 alpha release ? I think I have it figured out that there are the .bin files under 'released' but no DWIN folder, so FB suggested use the DWIN folder from his G32/N32 source tree. Thanks.
Yeah, I probably need to fit it into my schedule. But you are right. The DWIN Is the same as the G/N models, so you just grab it from that and you're golden.
Hey Federer, might be time for a cheeky update video to this one, just tried putting Alex's latest firmware on and the DWINSet part doesn't seem to work as intended. the DWIN Set is in a sub folder on the Aquila site and even if I put it in the root of the USB the update appears to work but doesn't sort out the graphics, On top of this the differing versions of the Aquila make for interesting choices when it comes to what version of Alex's firmware you get. Yes I know you've done a little video on that but times have changed can we have it all in one video please, where do we get the correct DWIN set for Alex's firmware please.

I have the 12864B13 display PCB. It has no mico SD slot.I found that after I booted with just the Darwin firmware the Aquila had to be added by putting the Aquila on seperately. When I reinserted the micro SD I got a prompt on the screen "EEPROM update?" I selected yes with the knob and pressed it. Presto!
And here I was checking the comments hoping for the answer. His videos are so much better than anything on the voxelab channel, but then they have to go and change stuff.
Just to let everyone know. I contacted support for Voxelab and they were back to me within hours. They have been very helpfull with trying to fix my machine. We are working on it right now. I am replacing the fans the wheels and the Y stepper first and then checking every connection on the main board to be sure there is nothing loose. Especially the thermistor and power connections. I will take pictures and make a video of a short print to capture the effect as it happens so they can get a better idea of what is happening and maybe help me fix it. For all I know it may end by the time I get done checking and changing parts. A loose connection would make my day. If we get an answer I will get it to you so we all know. AMAZON has been in no hurry to do anything, as expected.
Hi Fedor, I used this video to update my firmware when I got my Aquila about a year ago. Everything went great. Recently I was lucky enough to win an Aquila X2 during the Voxelab Christmas challenge. It did not come with the current firmware from Voxelab and I want to upgrade this machine's firmware. It has the H32 chipset. Do the steps shown in this video for the Aquila also apply to the X2? In particular do you still need to open the display to complete the upgrade? I've seen one other video, that I think it is by Voxelab, that does not address this. Thanks for all your videos.
I have a question, on my Aquila I have several stored y files on a sd card . I just downloaded a file from Thingiverse to the same sd card . I Inserted into the printer and all of a sudden nothing shows up on the screen ( all files hidden somewhere) can’t print anything. I even used a new sd card with just one new file on it and still nothing ( blank screen) . My machine Is now a boat anchor, what’s going on ?
I guess depending on what file you downloaded, it may have corrupted the card or thrown the firmware off. You may need to reformat the card, and flash new firmware. Should be easy to try.
Hey there I tried updating my printer but It didn't work. I have an Aquila x2 h32, and when I tried to download that software and install it on my printer nothing happened. Any thoughts? There is nothing on the internet about this that I could find. My sd card is FAT 32 and set to 4096 bites.

But unlike your video I didn’t get two files, it was only one, and the file name was just a bunch of random numbers and letters. No zip file or anything. So I downloaded other Aquila software just to see if that one was glitched and it was the same thing. So idk. Any thoughts.
Ah I see. The dwin file is only for the display graphics. So the update must not need it. You need to make sure you unzip it until you get a .bin file. Also be sure to format your card correctly. The 4096 byte size is very important. Then put the .bin into a folder named “firmware” and give it another go
@@3DPrintSOS I have had my sd card formatted in Fat32 and 4096 but I think I now realize the problem since you said it needs to be a .bin file. When I hit download on voxelabs site for my printer firmware of the x2 h32 it gives me a RAR file. In addition to this, the file is not compressed so it does not need to be unzipped. I just get one RAR file when I download and that’s it. So is that a website issue or maybe a computer issue?
You had mentioned in the video if the menu icons don't show up, you'll explain why, but you never did. My menu items disappeared randomly, so I went through this process to try to fix it, and yes the firmware was installed properly, but the menu icons still aren't there. Can you help?
hi Fedor. Just got the Aquila with the H32 board. Do i download the 1.2.1 or the 5.1.8 firmware. Not too sure which is the best to update if i need to at all.
I went to update my firmware today but not sure which file to download. There is 7 for the Aquila. How do I know which one is right. My Aquila is running 1.2.1
You just need to check for a sticker on the front of your Aquila for a chip number. Either N32 or H32. If there is no sticker, you have a G32. That’s all you really need to know.
I am trying to add a filament sensor to my Aquila. I tried the BTT Smart Filament Sensor ($20US) but my Aquila (with updated software) doesn't work with it. Any help or suggestions on how/what to install would be appreciated.
@@3DPrintSOS Nice suggestion, but it doesn't work. I did both the firmware and DWIN updates. using X2 V5.1.6. The console display goes haywire, The system is unusable. I reverted to the Aquila H32 5.5.3 again. Still need a solution for the Filament Sensor. It is an available setting! There is a socket on the main board. How can it be used?
Hmm was the x2 firmware you tried h32? Because the board for x2 is the same technically. So should have worked. It “should” be literally plug and play and then just turned on in the firmware settings. Since it’s a simple switch, it also should have worked with any of them really... not sure what’s going on unfortunately.
Is this procedure with the SD in the display also the procedure for 3rd party firmware? I’m going to install the creality sprite pro dd extruder and I hear there is a firmware change needed. Safe to say this will be the process?
Am I right in thinking the G32 is the oldest model? I just received mine from Amazon a week or 2 ago so surprised it could be an old model, but there's no extra sticker above the SD card? From what I read before buying, one version of it has a smaller sized capacity on the board?
This is a great video but now when I go to look at the downlaod options there are options for H32, G32, and N32, how do I know which is the correct for my printer?
i dont have the same printer monitor like yours i have the aquila 2c with the h32 chip, i followed your directions and mine will not upload the firmware. i cant even get my printer to auto home without it beeping and requesting it to reset really finding the whole thing frustrating ready to send it back
Having trouble but in contact with support. Had a faulty knob encoder and the screen they sent me was wrong, jsut need to cut plastic but the firmware on it is super messed up. I dont see any DWIN on their download page anymore. I just told support this so not sure what will happen
si i got my Aquila x2 today and watched this video and did exactly what you sad . But after i put the chip in the machine and turned it on there was no bar . so i took the back of and sliped the card into the slot at the back inside and sure it turned blue then red . but the first part didnt work there was no bar on the screen when turned on
I got a 8.8.8 from the voxelab engineer .so far I can see the noozle heating Faster and the e-step is no longer limited 186 .For my BMG extruder its up to 436
Quick question, every appropriately sized .jpeg I try to replace the 0_start file with has serious issues. How did you get a custom boot screen to work?
I went through all the steps to upgrade my Aquila. Once I did the display screen to flip it vertical, all I get are black lines through everything that has text. Now I’m stuck and can’t see what I am doing. Everything seemed to flash properly except now I have this issue.
Hmm two things to check, one is make sure you’re formatting the byte size to 4096 if you are using the stock card. Also make sure you are installing the display files after the machine is flashed. Make sure the name of the fielder is “DWIN_SET” exactly. Finally, make sure you flash the right firmware for you chip.
interesting video, I would like to ask you for a kind advice: I installed an original Bl touch creatily on my voxel aquila (N32). I tried to install the firmware downloaded from the Voxelab site. I then inserted the SD card into the printer and turned it on. Unfortunately, a double line with the voxelab symbol appeared on the display and do not buy the menu anymore. Are you making sure you are seeing a bin file and not a .rar? If you have a .rar, you need to unzip it. You can use “WinRaR” to do that. As for the screen, make sure you have a folder named “DWIN_SET” otherwise it won’t work. Another reason why it wouldn’t work is if you didn’t allocate bite size to 4096 on the SD card.

I confirm that I have used the file in .bin format for the signature and the DWIN_SET folder for the display. only doubt I have that the SD with which I updated the sign was not formatted to 4096…. what is remediable? later I also tried to update the firmware with 4096 formatting but a green sign appears on the display but the menu does not appear ... thanks

ok got it sorted just create a file on the original sdcard saying firmware and put the bin file in it stick in front of machine all done. firmware update.
Finally getting around to setting my printer up. I have a G32 motherboard and I was going to update the firmware before tightening the last fastener on the machine. It looks like there aren’t nearly as many updates as for the N32 and H32. What is the latest version of firmware for G32, or did they “get it right” a lot sooner than the N32 and G32?
What if you plug it in the first time and it doesn't go to the menu, then you plug it into the display and it goes straight to red, did I do something wrong or what
You have to do the motherboard first, then then display. Make sure you are using a .bin file for the “firmware” folder and the dwin is named “DWIN_SET”. Also make sure your sd card is set at 4096 bytes or the update will not install correctly.
I've installed alexqzd firmware twice and I keep getting heat warning, even though the screen shows that right hot end, and bed temperatures. Now I am trying the new aquila firmware g32

i picked up a monoprice joule and from what i can gather its just a rebranded aquila x2 . it has an aquila board ver 1.0.3. what version of firmware would this be? h32?g32?
This type of error happens when the card isn’t setup correctly. Give it another go. Make sure you set the bytes correctly and have the right firmware for the right chip.
I went through all these steps on my Aquila X2 and now I have a black screen. I made sure everything was connected properly and still have the same issue. Any suggestions?

I made sure to use the stock 8GB SD card, formatted correctly, made a new folder listed as firmware, installed the firmware for my Aquila X2 N32 chip, and luckily repeating this process helped get my screen back. Now when I print, I get an error saying nozzle or bed temp too low. After power cycling I get an error stating the print was interrupted due to power failure. Any suggestions on my new problem?

There is no other file with a dwin set so at the moment I am stuck with voxelab aquila with no OS. If you could guide me on how to fix this I would be very appreciative.
Right, they have since updated the firmware to a new version so that part is ok. Just use the latest. As for the DWIN_SET, you can find it in the .rar file you download from the site. You have to unzip it. Everything you need is there. ;)
Thanks for this. The only problem I am having now is when I am on the download centre on the voxelab website, When I download an Aquila software file it only gives me a .rar file and I can't unzip it. I have tried downloading other software files and they work fine. Not to sure what the problem is.

I love my Proxima but I I’m not sure I’d recommend it at 14. Resin is a bit messy and requires gloves and keeping things clean. I’d go for an Aquila in your case. :)
In dire need of help. I walked away from 3d printing for a year, and accidently deleted my firmware on the sd card. I have the Aquila 3d printer v1.1-200923 but cant find the firmware anywhere youre explaing? the printer info says it has the G32, and N32 chip in it. Any help?? haha
Have you had anyone reach out to you about the Aquila display screen going black? I can see that its on but blank/black, plus no beeps.. not sure if the motherboard has a video chip. I've unplugged it over night and still doesn't come on. Any ideas? The scroll knob has been acting funny.I ordered a Ender V2 display that should match up hopefully but not sure why it went out in 6-8 weeks?
I have but typically due to something going wrong during a 3rd party firmware update. Not on it’s on. Sounds like a faulty display :/. You should reach out to voxelab and see if you can get a replacement.
Well... looks like the CPU has went bad on the Aquila motherboard. No LED on when its powered on. Makes sense cause only the fan on my hotend and CR touch power on. I reached out to Voxelab and no reply. So I've ordered a Creality 4.2.7 silent board to install instead. Hopefully it'll work. I'll let you know how it goes.. uuugh..
Yes. I seen that. It looks like I will only be able to hit 2 mounting holes. I think it will be secure enough for the SD slot. Will I be able to use the same Alex firmware? What do you recommend with the CR touch?
Great video!! I have a problem with my Aquila... the screen is locked and only display the initial logo... I tried with firmware update but it seems the main board is damaged. Is the ender 3 motherboard compatible with the Aquila Printer? It's being hard for me to find the original Aquila board (not finding in Amazon or anywhere!). I think I need some help :(
I have two Aquila Pro 3D printers, yesterday I connected them to my WiFi and the firmware updated, both are now running software version v1.4.6-2.3-5.0.3-1.0.0, now the printers do not print properly, after the raft is printed the extruder is lifted above the print then lowered again, this happens over and over and the result is the print fails with just a mess of filament. Is there anyway I can roll back the firmware?

I did this and couldnt find the dwin set file but did find the 1.2.4 file but when it downloads my computer is reading it as a RAR file so its not letting me do anything with it please help me! lol
You just need to get something like WinRar or any other app that opens rar files. It’s just a universal .zip file. Once you have it un zipped, you’ll have your .bin to use. ;)
So, my take is, the printer was looking for a 'firmware' file, and without creating the file yourself, it wouldn't update. Is that what your initial issue was?
Hey Fedder as of today I have the new version of this printer with the H32 chip and on the Voxelab website they have the standard firmware but i cant get it to update on my printer, Also i tried to check my e-steps and noticed that the stepper motor won't stop after asking for 100mm of filament. Any ideas? I Have Only Had This Printer For 2 Days And I'm New To 3d Printing And I Bought This On Your Review But I'm Really Struggling I Have Not Had A Successful Print Yet
I’m sorry to hear that Shawn. Let’s see if we can get you printing. Hop into my discord channel and see if you can get some help there. Typically issues with firmware not flashing are related to formatting. The card has to be an 8gb card formatted to 4096 bytes. Otherwise the printer will be confused. You have to try to use a Windows machine if you are on a mac.

Now I have a brand new Aquila with the new CR touch and it’s a direct plug in on the stock main board. Now I just need to make a vertical display mount

I think you answered it in the question. It’s the formatting. Very hard to do on a Mac. I use macs as well, but I have a windows partition to do things like this on.
My 3D printer has been popping up with this message “note it has been detexted thar rge task was intereupted due to power failure” like a hour and a half into printing and would updating fix that problem it’s only a few weeks old and was printing fine for the first few things
has anyone updated to 3.1.1? I just took mine out the box but I want to know if it works before I put it on the printer or if I should just update to the firmware in this video. I'm afraid I won't be able to back if its a bad firmware. also it says touch and I'm not sure what that means!
Don't suppose you know which of the "old Aquila" (non X2) G32 H32 and N32 firmwares we should/can use and what the difference between them might be? I'm hoping it's not "pull apart the motherboard housing to work-out what chip you have". I'm trying to scrape the Voxelab website for clues, but no dice so far
Gah! It's _in_ the firmware instructions. There will be a sticker on the top-front, just to the left of the Y-axis rail indicating if it's an N32 or H32 build. "No sticker" indicates it's a G32.
In the DWIN files there is a jpeg thats the splash screen. I just edited the file. Just had to make sure the file is TINY in file size. like 15kb. Otherwise, it wasnt loading.
Sweet, ran into a little trouble the din set files were split up when I downloaded. I got it all together and working though. I did read that the Bl tuch and filament sensor was added while doing that though! I guess its time to order up another and try it out. Thank you!!!!
@@3DPrintSOS ok i did it and it updated the printer but now i have missing icons on the screen it doesnt seem like the screen is taking the dwin file it just stays black instead of flashing like its supposed to with the card in the screen
Ok that’s a step forward. When the screen doesn’t take the dwin it means the ads card could be formatted wrong or there is a typo in “DWIN_SET”. Make sure you allocate 4096 bytes on the card when formatting.
@@3DPrintSOS/videos i figured out what was wrong i was trying to use a 32gb memory card but it wont let you format to 4096 bytes unless you format in exfat which doesn't work it has to be fat32 i downsized to an 8gb card and it worked fine i didnt want to move all my files off the 8gb card it came with so i bought a new one thinking i was being smart and it just caused me more problems lol

You need to use WinRAR to unzip the firmware. You can download winrar for free.

Thanks for posting the process. I just got my Aquia. Unfortunately mine came shipped with bad / incomplete firmware where the display was only 3 lines of text all in Chinese. The good news is per Voxelab support I needed to just update the firmware, which your instructions were follwable theirs were harder to follow... Oh and apparently I am lucky in that they are still shipping the G32 machines and I got one...

Thank you for the video. I am still having a problem with the first part. I loaded the xx.bin into a firmware file and placed in the Aquila as instructed. However, it remains stuck in the loading line (an orange line) with no check mark. The second part does as it should going from blue screen to orange after loading the SD card into the screen part but now it is frozen is there any way to go back.or fix the first part?
Hmm you sure you have the right bin for you chip?

I have an Voxelab Aquila I believe it is a G32 and have added a 3D touch to it. I downloaded the Firmware from their site and loaded it on the SD card as instructed. Then did the Firmware for the Screen. When I turn the machine on It shows Voxelab Boot window, but does not have any selections on the screen display. I cannot get passed the Boot screen. Any ideas?

Could you update these instructions for the Alex H32 alpha release ? I think I have it figured out that there are the .bin files under 'released' but no DWIN folder, so FB suggested use the DWIN folder from his G32/N32 source tree. Thanks.
Yeah, I probably need to fit it into my schedule. But you are right. The DWIN Is the same as the G/N models, so you just grab it from that and you're golden.
Hey Federer, might be time for a cheeky update video to this one, just tried putting Alex's latest firmware on and the DWINSet part doesn't seem to work as intended. the DWIN Set is in a sub folder on the Aquila site and even if I put it in the root of the USB the update appears to work but doesn't sort out the graphics, On top of this the differing versions of the Aquila make for interesting choices when it comes to what version of Alex's firmware you get. Yes I know you've done a little video on that but times have changed can we have it all in one video please, where do we get the correct DWIN set for Alex's firmware please.

Hopefully, you got it sorted out. Typically the dwin issues come from not formatting the card with 4096 byte size or having a card larger than 16gb.

I have the 12864B13 display PCB. It has no mico SD slot.I found that after I booted with just the Darwin firmware the Aquila had to be added by putting the Aquila on seperately. When I reinserted the micro SD I got a prompt on the screen "EEPROM update?" I selected yes with the knob and pressed it. Presto!

Just to let everyone know. I contacted support for Voxelab and they were back to me within hours. They have been very helpfull with trying to fix my machine. We are working on it right now. I am replacing the fans the wheels and the Y stepper first and then checking every connection on the main board to be sure there is nothing loose. Especially the thermistor and power connections. I will take pictures and make a video of a short print to capture the effect as it happens so they can get a better idea of what is happening and maybe help me fix it. For all I know it may end by the time I get done checking and changing parts. A loose connection would make my day. If we get an answer I will get it to you so we all know. AMAZON has been in no hurry to do anything, as expected.

Hi Fedor, I used this video to update my firmware when I got my Aquila about a year ago. Everything went great. Recently I was lucky enough to win an Aquila X2 during the Voxelab Christmas challenge. It did not come with the current firmware from Voxelab and I want to upgrade this machine's firmware. It has the H32 chipset. Do the steps shown in this video for the Aquila also apply to the X2? In particular do you still need to open the display to complete the upgrade? I've seen one other video, that I think it is by Voxelab, that does not address this. Thanks for all your videos.

I have a question, on my Aquila I have several stored y files on a sd card . I just downloaded a file from Thingiverse to the same sd card . I Inserted into the printer and all of a sudden nothing shows up on the screen ( all files hidden somewhere) can’t print anything. I even used a new sd card with just one new file on it and still nothing ( blank screen) . My machine Is now a boat anchor, what’s going on ?
I guess depending on what file you downloaded, it may have corrupted the card or thrown the firmware off. You may need to reformat the card, and flash new firmware. Should be easy to try.
Hey there I tried updating my printer but It didn't work. I have an Aquila x2 h32, and when I tried to download that software and install it on my printer nothing happened. Any thoughts? There is nothing on the internet about this that I could find. My sd card is FAT 32 and set to 4096 bites.
The h32 model machine can only use stock firmware from voxelab. Is that what you tried to install?

But unlike your video I didn’t get two files, it was only one, and the file name was just a bunch of random numbers and letters. No zip file or anything. Ah I see. The dwin file is only for the display graphics. So the update must not need it.
You need to make sure you unzip it until you get a .bin file. Also be sure to format your card correctly. The 4096 byte size is very important. Then put the .bin into a folder named “firmware” and give it another go

When I hit download on voxelabs site for my printer firmware of the x2 h32 it gives me a RAR file. In addition to this, the file is not compressed so it does not need to be unzipped. I just get one RAR file when I download and that’s it. So is that a website issue or maybe a computer issue?
That’s the problem. Download winrar and use that to unzip it. The rar file should contain the bin.

You had mentioned in the video if the menu icons don't show up, you'll explain why, but you never did. My menu items disappeared randomly, so I went through this process to try to fix it, and yes the firmware was installed properly, but the menu icons still aren't there.

hi Fedor. Just got the Aquila with the H32 board. Do i download the 1.2.1 or the 5.1.8 firmware. Not too sure which is the best to update if i need to at all.
Just go for the latest version by date.
I went to update my firmware today but not sure which file to download. There is 7 for the Aquila. How do I know which one is right. My Aquila is running 1.2.1
You just need to check for a sticker on the front of your Aquila for a chip number. Either N32 or H32. If there is no sticker, you have a G32. That’s all you really need to know.
I am trying to add a filament sensor to my Aquila. I tried the BTT Smart Filament Sensor ($20US) but my Aquila (with updated software) doesn't work with it. Any help or suggestions on how/what to install would be appreciated.

I reverted to the Aquila H32 5.5.3 again. Still need a solution for the Filament Sensor. It is an available setting! There is a socket on the main board. How can it be used?
Hmm was the x2 firmware you tried h32? Because the board for x2 is the same technically. So should have worked. It “should” be literally plug and play and then just turned on in the firmware settings. Since it’s a simple switch, it also should have worked with any of them really... not sure what’s going on unfortunately.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. My original Aquila prints better than most of my other machines.

You only have to have one if you download the firmware that is meant for a bl touch. There should be non bl touch versions available.

i dont have the same printer monitor like yours i have the aquila 2c with the h32 chip, i followed your directions and mine will not upload the firmware. i cant even get my printer to auto home without it beeping and requesting it to reset really finding the whole thing frustrating ready to send it back
Having trouble but in contact with support. Had a faulty knob encoder and the screen they sent me was wrong, jsut need to cut plastic but the firmware on it is super messed up. I dont see any DWIN on their download page anymore. I just told support this so not sure what will happen

si i got my Aquila x2 today and watched this video and did exactly what you sad . But after i put the chip in the machine and turned it on there was no bar . so i took the back of and sliped the card into the slot at the back inside and sure it turned blue then red . but the first part didnt work there was no bar on the screen when turned on

Quick question, every appropriately sized .jpeg I try to replace the 0_start file with has serious issues. How did you get a custom boot screen to work?
I had to make the size really small for it to work. Outside of that, I didn’t do much. Maybe it’s saving with too high of a dpi?
I went through all the steps to upgrade my Aquila. Once I did the display screen to flip it vertical, all I get are black lines through everything that has text. Now I’m stuck and can’t see what I am doing. Everything seemed to flash properly except now I have this issue.
Hmm two things to check, one is make sure you’re formatting the byte size to 4096 if you are using the stock card. Also make sure you are installing the display files after the machine is flashed. Make sure the name of the fielder is “DWIN_SET” exactly. Finally, make sure you flash the right firmware for you chip.

Are you making sure you are seeing a bin file and not a .rar?
If you have a .rar, you need to unzip it. You can use “WinRaR” to do that.
As for the screen, make sure you have a folder named “DWIN_SET” otherwise it won’t work. Another reason why it wouldn’t work is if you didn’t allocate bite size to 4096 on the SD card.

I confirm that I have used the file in .bin format for the signature and the DWIN_SET folder for the display. only doubt I have that the SD with which I updated the sign was not formatted to 4096…. what is remediable? later I also tried to update the firmware with 4096 formatting but a green sign appears on the display but the menu does not appear ... thanks

This video is old. The site will have newer firmware. It’s otherwise the same.
Finally getting around to setting my printer up. I have a G32 motherboard and I was going to update the firmware before tightening the last fastener on the machine. It looks like there aren’t nearly as many updates as for the N32 and H32. What is the latest version of firmware for G32, or did they “get it right” a lot sooner than the N32 and G32?

What if you plug it in the first time and it doesn't go to the menu, then you plug it into the display and it goes straight to red, did I do something wrong or what
You have to do the motherboard first, then then display. Make sure you are using a .bin file for the “firmware” folder and the dwin is named “DWIN_SET”. Also make sure your sd card is set at 4096 bytes or the update will not install correctly.
I've installed alexqzd firmware twice and I keep getting heat warning, even though the screen shows that right hot end, and bed temperatures. Now I am trying the new aquila firmware g32

Yep, it’s all in the file size. I had to reduce the file size down to like 12kb for it to work.
i picked up a monoprice joule and from what i can gather its just a rebranded aquila x2 . it has an aquila board ver 1.0.3. what version of firmware would this be? h32?g32?
Really? Like a clone of a clone? You need to check the letters on the actual chip to know. The boards are the same otherwise.

This type of error happens when the card isn’t setup correctly. Give it another go. Make sure you set the bytes correctly and have the right firmware for the right chip.

Are you using the stock SD card? Are you sure you renamed the folders correctly?
Also, be sure you are trying to install the correct version for your chip.

I made sure to use the stock 8GB SD card, formatted correctly, made a new folder listed as firmware, installed the firmware for my Aquila X2 N32 chip, and luckily repeating this process helped get my screen back. Now when I print, I get an error saying nozzle or bed temp too low. After power cycling I get an error stating the print was interrupted due to power failure. Any suggestions on my new problem?
This sometimes happens when the thermistor needs to be reseated in the hotend. Only change you made was firmware?
Hey there. I have followed these instructions and am now a bit stuck. I have cleared my SD card and have gone on the website to install the new software and the one you used is now gone. There is no other file with a dwin set so at the moment I am stuck with voxelab aquila with no OS. If you could guide me on how to fix this I would be very appreciative.
Right, they have since updated the firmware to a new version so that part is ok. Just use the latest. As for the DWIN_SET, you can find it in the .rar file you download from the site. You have to unzip it. Everything you need is there. ;)
Thanks for this. The only problem I am having now is when I am on the download centre on the voxelab website, When I download an Aquila software file it only gives me a .rar file and I can't unzip it. I have tried downloading other software files and they work fine. Not to sure what the problem is.
If you have a windows pc, download winRAR. It’ll let you unzip it.

I love my Proxima but I I’m not sure I’d recommend it at 14. Resin is a bit messy and requires gloves and keeping things clean. I’d go for an Aquila in your case. :)
In dire need of help. I walked away from 3d printing for a year, and accidently deleted my firmware on the sd card. I have the Aquila 3d printer v1.1-200923 but cant find the firmware anywhere youre explaing? the printer info says it has the G32, and N32 chip in it. Any help?? haha
I would just get the latest from the Voxelab site. check to see if you have a chip sticker on the machine on the front. if you don’t, you have a G23

Have you had anyone reach out to you about the Aquila display screen going black? I can see that its on but blank/black, plus no beeps.. not sure if the motherboard has a video chip. I've unplugged it over night and still doesn't come on. Any ideas? I have but typically due to something going wrong during a 3rd party firmware update. Not on it’s on. Sounds like a faulty display :/. You should reach out to voxelab and see if you can get a replacement.
Well... looks like the CPU has went bad on the Aquila motherboard. No LED on when its powered on. Makes sense cause only the fan on my hotend and CR touch power on. I reached out to Voxelab and no reply. So I've ordered a Creality 4.2.7 silent board to install instead. Hopefully it'll work. I'll let you know how it goes.. uuugh..

You would use Jyers Ui on the creality board. Yep the Cr touch is awesome.
Great video!! I have a problem with my Aquila... the screen is locked and only display the initial logo... I tried with firmware update but it seems the main board is damaged. Is the ender 3 motherboard compatible with the Aquila Printer? It's being hard for me to find the original Aquila board (not finding in Amazon or anywhere!). I think I need some help :(
It should fit however I would contact voxelab first. Have you checked all the connections?
I have two Aquila Pro 3D printers, yesterday I connected them to my WiFi and the firmware updated, both are now running software version v1.4.6-2.3-5.0.3-1.0.0, now the printers do not print properly, after the raft is printed the extruder is lifted above the print then lowered again, this happens over and over and the result is the print fails with just a mess of filament. Is there anyway I can roll back the firmware?

The n32 has full support. You should be good to go. Yes a 8gb card is best because it needs to be formatted to 4096bytes. So the stock card is best.

I did this and couldnt find the dwin set file but did find the 1.2.4 file but when it downloads my computer is reading it as a RAR file so its not letting me do anything with it please help me! lol
You just need to get something like WinRar or any other app that opens rar files. It’s just a universal .zip file. Once you have it un zipped, you’ll have your .bin to use. ;)
So, my take is, the printer was looking for a 'firmware' file, and without creating the file yourself, it wouldn't update. Is that what your initial issue was?
The files are way different. I have a STM32 chip what firmware do I download ?
Check for a sticker. The stickers are either N32 or H32. If there is no sticker, it’s a G32. Stm32 chip is G32

Typically issues with firmware not flashing are related to formatting. The card has to be an 8gb card formatted to 4096 bytes. Otherwise the printer will be confused. You have to try to use a Windows machine if you are on a mac.

Now I have a brand new Aquila with the new CR touch and it’s a direct plug in on the stock main board. Now I just need to make a vertical display mount

They included it in the .rar files now. You have to “unzip” it using something like WinRAR. Then you can open it like a folder.

Hey, my printer has been stuck on the white voxelab screen everytime I turn it on. I tried updating the firmware to see if that will solve the issue but no luck. Do you have any ideas?
I have not even plugged my printer in yet. Is there any reason not to update the firmware before I start printing?

Hi Once again you have answered my queries and as a beginner I will save Octoprint for later. I did think that I would update the firmware as per you video but I have a basic Aquila version 1.1.2 and the Voxelab website does not seem to list a download for that version, can you point me in the right direction please. Ray
If you have the regular Aquila you need to use the firmware labeled “Aquila G32 Firmware V1.2.4”

I think you answered it in the question. It’s the formatting. Very hard to do on a Mac. I use macs as well, but I have a windows partition to do things like this on.

My 3D printer has been popping up with this message “note it has been detexted thar rge task was intereupted due to power failure” like a hour and a half into printing and would updating fix that problem it’s only a few weeks old and was printing fine for the first few things

has anyone updated to 3.1.1? I just took mine out the box but I want to know if it works before I put it on the printer or if I should just update to the firmware in this video. I'm afraid I won't be able to back if its a bad firmware. also it says touch and I'm not sure what that means!
It’s for a BLTouch sensor. It won’t function properly without one. You’ll be good on stock firmware. ;)
Don't suppose you know which of the "old Aquila" (non X2) G32 H32 and N32 firmwares we should/can use and what the difference between them might be? I'm hoping it's not "pull apart the motherboard housing to work-out what chip you have". I'm trying to scrape the Voxelab website for clues, but no dice so far
Gah! It's _in_ the firmware instructions.
There will be a sticker on the top-front, just to the left of the Y-axis rail indicating if it's an N32 or H32 build. "No sticker" indicates it's a G32.

That typically happens when the display firmware didn’t install correctly.

how do you add you custom splash screen
In the DWIN files there is a jpeg thats the splash screen. I just edited the file. Just had to make sure the file is TINY in file size. like 15kb. Otherwise, it wasnt loading.
Do I have to install every piece of Firmware or just the latest version?

Sweet, ran into a little trouble the din set files were split up when I downloaded.
I got it all together and working though. I did read that the Bl tuch and filament sensor was added while doing that though!

i downloaded the firmware update but i didnt get a dwin set folder just a rar file and thats directly from voxelabs website

@@3DPrintSOS ok i did it and it updated the printer but now i have missing icons on the screen it doesnt seem like the screen is taking the dwin file it just stays black instead of flashing like its supposed to with the card in the screen
Ok that’s a step forward. When the screen doesn’t take the dwin it means the ads card could be formatted wrong or there is a typo in “DWIN_SET”. Make sure you allocate 4096 bytes on the card when formatting.
@@3DPrintSOS/videos i figured out what was wrong i was trying to use a 32gb memory card but it wont let you format to 4096 bytes unless you format in exfat which doesn't work it has to be fat32 i downsized to an 8gb card and it worked fine i didnt want to move all my files off the 8gb card it came with so i bought a new one thinking i was being smart and it just caused me more problems lol
@@3DPrintSOS and i didnt realize the dwin folder had to be outside of the firmware folder until i looked back at your video again lol your video had everything i needed my tiny reptile brain just didnt process it all the right way lmao sorry for all the dumb questions and thanks for the help
