    This was shot in 1999. We lived in Watsonia for about a year after moving from the US. I loved living next to the reserve. We saw all kinds of cool wildlife in there. All the best to you my Aussie brother!

    We bought our place at the wrong side of Macleod (the other side of Greensborough Rd, next to the Simpson Barracks / Yallambie Rd) last year and we drove to Greensy Plaza for groceries and Watsonia Rd / Main Rd for takeaways / gelatos / pizzas a couple of times every week and we take almost the exact route as you did in this video. I sometimes drove to Greswell Reserve and jog there and I could literally park next to where you lived in Watsonia. Everything looks so familiar but at the same time so different. Fantastic.
    Thank you so much for sharing. I wish you and your family all the best in the US.

    That was fantastic to watch. I lived in the area all my child hood.
    Great memories to look at & lots of old cars on the road what you don't see anymore.
    THANKS GARY, MARY

    Lot of old cars even for 99.real throwback to the 80s. Seems a long time ago now 99. Scary.

    The old cars everywhere! Kept looking for my old bomb at the time lol. Things that have changed aren't as obvious as I thought they'd look.

    Someone should film themselves driving this same path and do a side-by-side. Happy to edit if you need help.

    Ah memories. We built in Watsonia North in the 80s. Did my shopping in Watsonia Rd, and the chemist where Walter Mikac was the pharmacist, so sad. You passed my daughters old ballet school in church hall opposite Target car park, and lots more - good old memories. Nice and clear vision Ta Great vid 😊

    Weird seeing all the buildings looking nice and new instead of half of them being uncared for, shame you didnt go past greensborough pool, I still think the old pool is better than the new indoor one they put in its place

      Loved the old pool have a sign as s souvenir did countless laps best pool in the world an outside pool has a much better atmosphere than an indoor pool. No pun intended.

    Was looking for vids of the recent hail storms and found this:-) So cool. I live in the street right behind you and often walk my dog down to wildlife reserve and then back home via your street. I'm in the US on holiday right now and this has made me a little homesick, esp as I'm concerned about how my house fared in the storm.

    I suppose 14 years isn't that long ago but wow nothing has changed except a few shops have come and gone. I went to school in Watsonia and caught the train there so I'm quite familiar with the area. Thanks for the upload :)

    As of April 2022 that Greensborough shopping centre on the right hand side is for sale. $440 million dollars...

    • @TheSproutarian
      @TheSproutarian 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Now everything from that shopping center is made in China and Bangladesh, everything is cheap. When it first opened in the 1970's things were made in Australia, France, England and other places.

    Compared to mega cities in Asia, Melbourne is a small sleepy city where the pace of change is slow. Nothing has changed in the landscape in the last 23 years since this was filmed.

    • @mattyd3079
      @mattyd3079 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you seen box hill lately? Looks like Shanghai with so many high rise apartments. Melbourne has changed a lot in 23 years. There’s been a massive increase in apartments being built around just about every shopping centre
