People just underestimate tides, on average 1 car a month gets stranded, I live on an estuary with sandbanks and dog walkers are always being rescued, people not used to being near the coast just don't realise how fast a tide can come in, they also expect the tide to come in from the direction of the open sea, but it's the opposite on Holy Island, the incoming tide actually hits the far end of the road next to the mainland first, that's why they have to stop at the shelter as the last section of road is the deepest.
A coastal island near where I grew up had a very popular place for surf fishers ... extensive sandbars at one end that were all or mostly exposed at low tide. Of course, a few deeper channels that you'd have to wade through to get out to the bars farthest out. There were plenty of accidents when the fishermen (too late) decided it was time to get back and turned to see they now had a significant incoming tide and deep channels to cross. Most would make it and count themselves lucky they only lost all their gear. Of course, the area had all sorts of warnings and anyone fishing out there usually had heard all the stories ... but still it happened.

This happens whenever your mind follows your fleshly nature rather than the Holy Spirit of God. To Yeshua Jesus Christ be the Glory 🙏🏽🔥🔥🔥
They have a monk in a refuge shelter?
Let’s be honest here the majority of Uber driver’s aren’t lets say the sharpish tools in the box😂
I took one in London that drove the wrong way down a one way street and got angry when I pointed this out to him🤦🏻
You mean 'not local'
@@count69 stock piled migrants to do cheap tech labour
Atleast you admit who the real culprits are, most wouldn't for fear of being called a racist White coloniser.
@@no1brittbarbiefan colonised by whom? Conan the Barbarian 😂
To be honest, the fact the cars motor didn’t hydrolock in the first 20 feet and the car made it more than halfway across is very impressive
Now he drives a boat taxi.
That will shortly turn into a submarine.
The man comes out of his shed to call them both idiots to their faces...
I don't care if my kid got in a car accident and is at the hospital, it's my first day at my new job and it's my wedding day, all rolled into one. Gonna have to call and say I can't make it.
Attempting to cross that bridge isn't an option.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
So he lost the fare and totaled his car..
I guarantee that is not the first time that the coast guard has had to rescue someone from the same situation.
It is a regular callout location for Seahouses Lifeboat Station. That is their D-Class inshore lifeboat that you can see responding.
Well thats one good waterproof car😂
I done research, its not staged, its one of the most drone worthy areas to fly around, especially when the tides rise, and this car was in the right time of the drone
salty water on your car good luck with that.
Wonder who got the bill!
As Buddhist I don't know wether to laugh or be embarrassed
Why was what looks like a random monk just chilling
Before judging the driver; I’m guessing this is his only job with no other opportunities?
Moreover you got to hand it to the creators of the bridge to place that shed there; it was really interesting convenience and great possible insurance for rescue plans
0:57 Refuge box w/emergency phone 1:44 one fella's realized he waited too long to get out 3:17 coast guard boat arrives
Coastguard don't have any boats. RNLI do though...
@@ozzieparky Well nearly true. The coast guard have about 3 boats, similar to tug boats, to cover the whole of the UK's coastline !
Natural selection!!
😂😂😂
Why they made a road rather than a bridge in the first place?
The car will self destruct in 6 month
Who would build a bridge like that? They know the bridge is gonna be useless once the tide is in. Doesnt make sense.
It's not a bridge but a causeway that floods over twice a day when the tide rises
Did the coast guard get the Uber fee?
Two things I’m trying to understand is number one why build a roadway out there if they knew this happens and number two why wait that long to call for help 🤔
They built a causeway to connect the island to the mainland..seems pretty obvious. It’s a very small island and not far from the coast.
@ seems pretty stupid to be at risk of drowning being out there by car it should only be accessible by boat so a highway should’ve never built
