  • We know the Proven Winners Supertunia Vista plants are very vigorous growers. However, sometimes it is hard to see the differences in the flower color and size. Hopefully this video clears up some of the questions we often get!

    They are incredible. I live in Delaware. After a 2022 season of watching these things spread over 3.5 feet, I decided to leave them in the ground and see if they would come back this year. Guess what, they all came back. I am so glad I did not dig them up last winter, Thank you!

    I’ve been planting Vista Supertunias in my front yard landscape for several years. They are quite the showstoppers! Water, feed weekly, give them a trim mid-summer and they will repay you with absolutely gorgeous blooms until frost. Bubblegum is my favorite but I use various other colors with them. Highly recommend! (I live in zone 7a.)

    Oh gosh, I know you and your husband see Jazzberry taking over on popularity, but I hope they never ever discontinue bubblegum. It is the perfect pink to complement my blue home, and is SO reliable performance-wise. I have fuchsia in a planter, but wish to try it in the ground this year also. Fuchsia and bubblegum are my go-to's for all my sunny spaces. And bubblegum sometimes bounces back in zone 7b! 💖🌸

    Everyone, but everyone, from knowledgeable nursery people, to just plain you and me, is talking about the bubblegum variety, and there is good reason why. Put one in last year, in a problem corner. One plant. Grew 3 x 3 feet. Astounding. Did get water, Fed only once. Had to trim that thing off the walk. Going to purchase five this year and they will cover the entire bed in the front, almost 15 feet. And, what a show!

    I planted bubblegum last year for the first time. I had two large spaces to fill, and I planted one plant in each space. Each plant got 8ft x 6ft, it was incredible!! I have NEVER seen petunias grow that large! I live in the hot and humid southeast, 7b. I have to water my petunias every day to keep them alive thru the summer. I also fertilized every 1-2 weeks. Proven winners plants are the best! I'm so excited to see my new Incrediball Blush shrubs bloom this summer 💗

    Everyone loves Bubblegum because they grow and flower so vigorously. A few Years ago I alternated two bubblegum and two fushia in a large pot. My Fushia eat my Bubblegum!! The bubblegum did live and flower and mingle nicely with the fushia but it was mostly fushia! I had them in a 24 inch tall container and they both grew over the side of the container hit the ground and started back up! So bubblegum isnt the only showstopper in this series! Every Supertunia I've ever tried is amazing! My neighbors always saying "I just don't have the luck you do with petunias!" I try to tell her it's not petunias! She keeps tring the waves and such and they just don't compare! 🌸 Thank you for the video comparing all the vista colors!

    Received my ordered plants from Garden Crossings and they are great. Were placed on their sides in the package at my house, even though the arrows clearly indicate the direction the package should go. No harm done, though, because there was wrapping around the base to hold the soil in. Will given them a chance to rest and then put them in. A very nice experience.

      Arrows are for the recipient to open properly, not for processing.

    • @maureenmckenna5220
      @maureenmckenna5220 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lindaforystek5028 I really thought they were for both parties. Yes, for me when I receive it, to know which end is up, but as the concerned receiver, who paid for it, I would be the interested party, and treat it carefully. The carrier, on the other hand, has the potential to do the most damage, and those arrows would certainly be important for the safety of the plant, even if the packaging inside is designed to protect the plants from mishandling, which would be transporting them on their sides or even upside down when it comes to it. The arrows are for both our sakes, but having received two plant packages with half of the soil no longer in the pot, I’d say those arrows were specifically meant for the carrier.

    The only thing I would add, is that the Vista bubblegum, the Vista jazzberry, and the Vista snow drift, all ask for a 32 inch spacing. The others are not quite as large and ask for a 24 inch spacing.

    I found the bubblegum one several years ago and it is still the best but then pink is my favorite color. I have tried the fuchsia and it did well. The last two years is the Jazzberry - love the color but wish it was the size of the bubble gum - rather small. I HATE to pluck petunias but love the colors and shapes - I only allow myself one plant a summer of regular petunias so I don't drive myself crazy! Thanks for the demonstration video!

      You could try a deer repellant that you spray on them. www.gardencrossings.com/product/bobbex-bobbex-r-animal-repellent-32oz-spray/

    I won’t ever go away from Paradise or Bubblegum! Paradise time has a red tone so it’s a pinky red. Jazzberry honestly isn’t my favorite. I did a pot this year with one Jazz, one Silver, salvia and sweet Caroline Pot vine.

    I'm surprised you don't have a supervisor red. Is it in the making.

      No, Tidal Wave is a Brand like Supertunia Vista is a brand.

    Am planting a series of 36 inch haystack porch planters. How many Vista supertunia plants would you recommend per planter? The dimensions are 36 long x 9 inches wide x 10 inches high. Thx.

      Well if it were me, I would put 5 plants in there for a faster fuller look. But if you are patient, you could do 3.

    I may have missed it, are these full sun? Or can they take some shade?

    Can I deadhead and not setback or hurt the planet ?

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You should not need to deadhead Supertunias. They are self cleaning. If needed you can trim your plants back to create more branching and more flowers if they start to get leggy. Leggy usually happens when you do not fertilize.
