My grandpa just passed away and left me his 97 Ram 1500. Only has 80,000 miles on it and is super clean. Bout to put new hoses on the thing and drive it for years to come 🙏
The greenish-blue dodge looks pretty darn sweet with those replacement wheels! I think it looks pretty good with that matte look, too. It doesn't need to be shiny as its a work truck, anyway. This generation of Ram has always been my favorite full-size pickup.
I'm a big fan of regular cab LB trucks. Currently have a silverado with the 5.3 and it scoots along pretty well. Tows great too. Plus nobody asks to borrow it since it's a regular cab
Great looking rig. For $500, stylish spare wheels and a few parts she looks nice! Id put the bumper guard from the white truck on her too. Where the cup holder was, you could make a control panel for trail lights or camping lights. Fun! Im looking to do the exact same thing you are. Thanks for the video.
I love these trucks. I have a '97 Ram 1500 with a 360 V8 auto with 298,345 miles on it so far and still going strong. It still has the original engine and trans and I've put 106,000 miles on it myself in the little over 10 years I've owned it. The main thing with these trucks is, I don't think the radiator trans cooler is enough to keep the trans fluid cool enough. So one of the first things I done to my truck was put an external trans cooler on it and so far so good. Still got good cold AC too, I charged it up about 6 or 7 years ago and still blowing cold so far. My truck needs some body work and paint at some point. Not sure how long it will last but time will tell.
These trucks are amazing. By far, Dodge has always been my favorite. They may not be the best quality, but I love how they drive. I'd take a Dodge over a Toyota. It's just a much funner experience.
I just painted and sold a 98 dodge dually. Was a fun project to do. Only problem I couldn’t figure out couldn’t fiquire out how to get the gauges to work. Tried everything
Those dashes.....bad for cracking. Wow! I wish i still had my 1997 Ram 4x4, sadly though, i could no longer afford it. Had owned it since new, which made it that more difficult to part with it. That's life, though. She looks good Jay, especially with the new wheels! Thanks for sharing!
FWIW The dash on my 97 Tahoe broke like yours. I ended up buying one of those plastic welders off amazon for 20 something dollars. I used a bunch of the W shaped wires and put it back together. Holds great. I won't be winning any awards at the car show but the dash is solid as can be. I threw a cover on it and you can't tell. From 10 feet away.
I've got a '96 Extended Cab 5.2 I pulled out of a field for $500. It's awesome seeing someone else putting in the work to keep one of these old trucks going. It frustrates me to no end, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Nice truck. My papaw had a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 in a red color that he got from my cousin’s Grandpa Dave. He replaced it with a 2002 Chevy Silverado S1500 which recently died, and now has my Mamaw’s Chrysler Town & Country from 2010. My Mamaw now has a 2024 Chevy Equinox which is nice.
Hey, jay my boy-you’re doing great with that dodge ram 🐏 it looks good with the new wheels! 🛞 I hope you have a good weekend with the others! I can wait for part3 sometime in the near future! 😊😊😊😊😊😊
You should install a center console and full bucket seats with power windows, power locks, and power mirrors, and the overhead console with the compass and temp feature make it more like it fully loaded single cab
I must say I like the green truck, too bad we don't live closer. I have an 05 f150 I'll trade you it runs it needs a little bit of work, it's my daily got a 4.2 in it. But it runs good. I like the wheels on the dirty truck. But I like the black ones better. Did I say I like the green truck.
Trucks looking better and better each time I see videos on it and makes me look through my old emblem collection and find my 3 Ram 1500 emblems 2 in silver and 1 in red plus makes me want to turn wrenches again and get my paws dirty again fixing bmx bikes like I used to but once in a while I get my paws dirty working on my mopeds doing oil changes, mirror work and tires because I love working with tools and being an autistic folf it soothes me to know that I worked on something with my own 2 paws 🐾🐾🐾🐾, arrrrrooooo
Glad I found your channel. I see bran new trucks out there but nothin like the older ones. Especially went they are brought back to life. Nice video. I subscribed.
I had some jbl speakers for long time and they sounded great. I got the infinity reference speakers in there now stock radio hooked to an amplifier with a 6.5 skar subwoofer and an isimple antenna adapter aux attachment so I can plug my phone into the radio.
Huge transformation nice work. I miss the old 2 door long bed strip down manual everything easy to work on trucks. Anything you buy now is mostly all computerized and has a million things you don't need that cost a fortune to fix
The world seems to be good where you guys are. Love those 2nd gens, if those do not rust out - they're great trucks, really. Keep up the great content - greetings from Austria 🤘🏻
For the OG dodge, what do you need to get out of the sheet metal? (And how far are you from South Main Auto? I bet Eric O could fix your electrical issue.)
those trucks in my country worth a lifetime of work to buy, average incoming is like less than U$300. 2026 if everything goes like planing i'll move to US. Nice work brother
I’m going to pick up my dads old 96 ram and try my best to restore it. It’s been sitting for like 12 years. I don’t even know where to start. When he parked it he said it was running hot. We shall see.
My grandpa just passed away and left me his 97 Ram 1500. Only has 80,000 miles on it and is super clean. Bout to put new hoses on the thing and drive it for years to come 🙏
have fun with it
What do you mean? You don't want to buy a new truck for $125,000.00
@@steveb9525😭😭😭
Awesome! Grandpas are so special. Enjoy the truck and memories my friend.
My condolences to you, and also enjoy your truck
Rest in peace to the dirty Dodge

Gonna miss that truck! F
As someone who lives in NH, seeing not 1, not 2, but 3 second gen Rams that aren't eaten up with rust is amazing! 😍😍😍
I can vouch for that, thankfully my 2nd gen ram lived down south most of its life before I got it in NH. No frame rust and minimal door rust
The greenish-blue dodge looks pretty darn sweet with those replacement wheels! I think it looks pretty good with that matte look, too. It doesn't need to be shiny as its a work truck, anyway. This generation of Ram has always been my favorite full-size pickup.
This generation and ford 9th generation fights. Chevy I like 1989 to 1995 years more.
The red dodge is giving twister movie vibes. The blue dodge looks so good with the og dodge wheels
I'm a big fan of regular cab LB trucks. Currently have a silverado with the 5.3 and it scoots along pretty well. Tows great too. Plus nobody asks to borrow it since it's a regular cab
Love the look of a regular cab long bed. Perfect proportions
Should get a windshield, new headlights then do a rattle can respray. I’ve seen some TH-cam videos showing that it can look really good.

YOURE WELCOME MAXX! I'm glad I can see my old radio be put to use, also the tape deck worx! Also also, enjoy dem stickerz!
I gotta know where you got the “Murrica” stickers.
@@Susky_husky Redbubble or Etsy I can’t remember. I got them like 3 years ago, same with the Awoo and cash for clunkers
Nice to be able to fix stuff up that isn't loaded with rust.....Truck is looking good. Take as many parts as you can use of the white one...

Here's a video of my truck and one day I will fix it back up.

She’s cleaning up real nice!

Some metal polish and a foam pad in a drill will clean up those headlights real nice. Not a perminent fix, but should last you 6 months or so.

I like that color Jay 🙂👍 Truck looks great with the new wheels 👀
Add the front safari bar grille guard offa dirty to the new truck....
lookin real nice, i used to own a 5.9 ram back in 99. It was a laramie with 4x4. loved that truck
Have a good evenin Jay, that’s my favorite variant of blue on it
Those factory head units are often repairable.
The video I've been waiting for!! Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication you put into this truck!!!
Hey, jay my boy-you’re doing great with that dodge ram 🐏 it looks good with the new wheels! 🛞 I hope you have a good weekend with the others! I can wait for part3 sometime in the near future! 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Budget Leonardo DiCaprio fixing old trucks? Subscribed!
Was looking for a comment like this!
looks great except - headlights, buff and seal them or replace them.
all the way down on the shifter is not neutral btw. lol Great looking rims.
Hey Jay! Nice to see another dodge! Have a good weekend fella!
Looking good, clean and polish those head lights too.
I agree on the lugnuts . They are worse here in Ohio 18 mm are your saving grace. Great video Jay.
What up Jay? Glad you dropped a new video
The truck is looking good hope you cody and jessie have a great weekend
You should install a center console and full bucket seats with power windows, power locks, and power mirrors, and the overhead console with the compass and temp feature make it more like it fully loaded single cab
Jay, you say green Dodge but on my screen its blue. Great video and great truck. Looking forward to more videos on the truck.
At least the original dirty Dodge made it 300,000 miles, I remembered that was one of the first vehicles I seen on the channel when I subscribe!
Is there some type of memorabilia I could buy from the OG dirty dodge
I have a brand new 350 and let me tell you nothing is more fun than working on my 90’s trucks. They are so much fun
Those awful fuel pressure regulators/filters on top of the pump are usually the culprit
That truck is looking sweeeet
Yanno? Those wheels really look good with that satin-ish paintjob it has. They work well together
Got a dash cover off eBay for like 70 bucks.
My first ever truck was a 98 ram, reg cab, long bed!
love seeing RCLBs on the road. great job restoring this one.
Use the Vice Grip Garage clear on it. Derek makes it look easy as.
I'd do a full spectrum wet sand. Go through all the grits and then maybe flow coat the cear coat. She'll look brand new!
Can you do a final send off video for the dirty dodge, it's almost iconic lol, been watching you stuff for years
NIce job. The ole Dodge looks and runs great!

It looks pretty nice.
Good video 😀

Polishing the headlights is easy and will help your night driving.
Once again, a good running vehicle is worth saving. Regardless of looks. Side note, the steering wheel in the old white dodge is in great shape.
Think you could do a driveway update on everything you got in the future?
Man you got ole Cody working too! What about Charley ? He needs to be out there supervising!
Nice job.............great truck
I love these trucks!
That rig could use some new headlights, rip to the og wite ram. What's the status on the red one?
A dodge having an electrical problem No way
Cant wait to see this video! 🙂
Glad I found your channel. I see bran new trucks out there but nothin like the older ones. Especially went they are brought back to life. Nice video. I subscribed.
lol I notice you almost look like a Leonardo DiCaprio but a country version. Lol good stuff dude. Keep up the great content from SW Florida
Good looking truck man love what all you done with it, you gonna put them pod lights from the white truck in the bumper to?
Cheers to the Original, un-rusty,yet Untrusty Dirty Dodge .All Hail the New Purty Dodge!
Good video bud keep up the good work and miss your videos bud
Definitely a decent looking & running truck. Great job bud!
Nice work on the old American Ram. Greetings from Poland. Jack.
I had some jbl speakers for long time and they sounded great.
I got the infinity reference speakers in there now stock radio hooked to an amplifier with a 6.5 skar subwoofer and an isimple antenna adapter aux attachment so I can plug my phone into the radio.

Nice vid
Hey Jay he ran that stop sign lol
Take the push bar off and put it on the new dodge 🙏 please!!!!
For the OG dodge, what do you need to get out of the sheet metal? (And how far are you from South Main Auto? I bet Eric O could fix your electrical issue.)
Put a Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the cigarette lighter
I like the mat blue look. But I'm strange like that. 😂
Forget buffing it. Sand it and apply a Line-X to the entire truck.
Nice driving in God's Country. It's amazing what can be accomplished when you know what to do and how to do it.
Driver side wheel well is the ground strap that deteriorates bucks to whole truck up
Good video Jay .. did Jessie pick him up another del slow.. good to see all the gang again
Ima newbie came across your channel cause I also have a 97 1500 and they rule and will enjoy watching your videos Jay
Yes good looking truck bro
Dont park anything 10 foot of an old dodge ram, the electrical problems can be contagious
It’s the elusive boyfriend!
What wheels do u like better for the money MB wheels or American racing I think the American racing r23s look great on any 80s 90s 2000s trucks
New windshield would be fire 🔥🔥🔥
R.I.P. Dirty Dodge!
those trucks in my country worth a lifetime of work to buy, average incoming is like less than U$300. 2026 if everything goes like planing i'll move to US. Nice work brother
I’m going to pick up my dads old 96 ram and try my best to restore it. It’s been sitting for like 12 years. I don’t even know where to start. When he parked it he said it was running hot. We shall see.
Should restore the white truck .. it looks good still .
I would leave the paint as is it looks cool on video. Just clean up head lights and roll on down the road.
Oh have I been waiting!
Nothing like going to move a small boat and grabbing a wasp nest in the receiver
awesome part two!
You should next buy a classic to restore from Collier Motors in Pikeville North Carolina!
