WOW...gorgeous pieces of uranium glass. I've never seen the glow of this glass when a black light shines on them...it's amazing! I would love to see your collection! Thanks so much for sharing.
Luckily I work at a well stocked antique store here in southern Louisiana. There's a vendor at our place that's a huge porcelain/glass etc. dealer. She's taught me an abundance. It's her that introduced me to uranium glass that inspired me to start giving it to my wife as gifts. We've amassed a pretty nice collection over the years :)
The reason each peace glow different is the amount of uranium they use in making the peace the makers where told to use a handful of so each person handful is different
I love glass- old or new. If it's pretty, that's my priority. I'm glad values have gone down, easier to afford, but so many now think it's more valuable than it is and want too much for it. Your buys here are beautiful. Green and pink are my favorite- and cobalt in special pieces. The newer cobalt just does not look like the old, but I'll take any I can get. You hit the jackpot here!
I love uranium glass I think I told you I had an antique store many years ago, we would find a lot of this in northern Florida, it was crazy what we would get for it, then it kinda lost its interest and sat for awhile, but some would call it canary or vaseline glass, not knowing the glow factor of it, but I love it to this day, and you see the price is way down now. But for one who loves it, it’s worth a lot. Nice find🦋
Beautiful haul! I have one in your flower and vine pattern. I collect these, and will set up a curio with a black light. Makes amazing display in a darkened room. Few here know of uranium glass. I was at an auction last weekend, one piece wouldn't sell for 2.50; I shined my UV light on it, it lit up like a neon sign, it immediately bid up to $25. Wife was pissed, didn't know she wanted to buy it.
Bob Johnson lol that’s great! “She didn’t know she wanted to buy it”! But she will once you set up that display! I LOVE uranium glass. I need to find some in yellow (Vaseline glass)
I guess, these are American uranium glass pieces. They have a more emerald shade of green compared to European ones which are more oily-yellowish. I have plenty of uranium glass pieces and most of them are like that - somehow, most of the items which I find in this emerald colour are most often plain green glass.
I have an enormous collection, all in a 6 foot tall china cabinet, under black light. The pieces you mention that glow much more intensely, it is because they have higher uranium content when produced. To those thinking it dangerous to have in your house, that is fallacy. In the Victorian Era they even had giant fish tanks made of uranium glass. One went on eBay in a large ornate stand, for over 2,000.00 dollars.
Kristine B that sounds amazing! Yeah I actually looked it up on the FDA website and they advised there really is no danger collecting it. They don’t recommend eating off it though which they don’t recommend eating on a lot of vintage plates anyhow.
Nice!!! Believe it or not, they ARE radioactive! They really do have uranium in them. Very small amount... you probably get more radiation sitting next to your plasma TV, but they do have radioactivity. :) *SWEET HAUL!!!* :D :D ESPECIALLY for 5 bucks!!! *AWESOME!* We thought it was ALL gonna be uranium glass!!! Almost!! All but 1! :D Great job!! *THUMBS UP!*
Bargain Barons that’s right I saw a video that they were the same amount radioactive as a cup of coffee lol. Lol did you guys make a prediction? I think that’s part of the fun, guessing if it is or not.
no, the F inside a shield mark is definitely Federal Glass Company, I'm pretty sure Fenton never marked their glass (not vintage Fenton) except with labels.
Your first 2 pieces are most likely English from the 1930's. English used sugar cubes so their sugar bowls did not have tops. I learned this from an antique glass expert.
@@PrincessCasserole tufglas is the name to collect it to is uranium. Very rare i buy everytime i see also slag glass glows as well..but not uranium in slag. But nice score for sure i like murano
Not true. I myself own a piece that glows very bright green under UV light, but it is not radioactive (I have a Johnson GSM-115 survey meter (geiger counter) with an HP-265 pancake probe). While the chance of UV-reactive vaseline glass being radioactive due to uranium is high, it's not a 100% guarantee.
Beautiful glassware, wow I have never seen these before. You found some great stuff. ❣️
debmart59 no? I bet you have just didn’t realize it.
They are actually radioactive!
yea they are
Just got a black light and bought my first glowy glass!!! Amberina !!! I have a vasaline glass vase that glows !!!
@@CherlyGearhart careful it’s addicting lol

Babsy1316 I will show it all when hubby puts in my black light. It’s even cooler in person but does look cool on camera still.
Good score! We would have to pay a lot more for them here in New Zealand.
Fun, I have heard of this, but this is the first time I have seen it glow.
lady owl /marie it’s so cool isn’t it? Can’t wait for hubby to hook up the black light

That’s wonderful! I bet you have a beautiful display.
The hunt is the funniest part... it gives you a high... and when you do that that piece you absolutely fall in love.
Scott Karkosky that’s SO true!

I love cobalt blue too! I’m surprised it’s not used more in designs and clothing. I think cobalt and coral are my favorite colors
Beautiful finds 💚 Mine early Vaseline / Uranium Glass serving and jello dishes also have this incredible glow . It’s fun to collect them !
Ilona Ilosika isn’t it? I love them.
What a deal!!

vanessa Herron yeah things come and go in popularity. I think a lot of people my age don’t know about it.
Wow great score Carla. that are beautiful pieces. I bet you have a gorgeous collection. I really need a UV flashlight like yours :)
Bianca yeah it’s fun. People use it for Amber too. But I’ve found a lot glow like resin.
Love the glassware Thanks for sharing with us!
Diana Morgan thank you for watching
I have one piece of uranium glass that glows beautifully! I would love to find more and your collection is gorgeous!
tigermoon44 thanks so much! It’s so cool! Some glows more than others but I love them.

They are actually radioactive to a degree.

It would be awesome to have a cabinet with these and light them up
Treasure Jensen yes! That’s what I’m hoping to do!
Wow, how fun. I haven't seen this before either. Now I have to keep my eye out for it. Very nice my princess.😎
Maureen Sutherland thanks Maureen! I love it. I think it’s so cool.
I believe it's Fenton not Federal. I MAY be wrong though.

what a great haul!
NICE! I paid much more for a creamer. Beautiful aren't they ?
mpage2654 so beautiful
I have that same little dish at 4:02 :)
Is there a way to check for the "glow" if you don't have a UV light?
not really no. Yo uc an buy uv lights on amazon for like $5
The little bowl that has more a yellow color is actually called Vaseline glass where the green glass is uranium there is a difference
Joan Shealy thanks!
What a score & all for only $5 nice!
Patricia Hernandez yeah not too shabby right ?? 😀

You got so lucky
Your F is Fenton. Much more valuable.
EXCELLENT haul.
dobie gal thank you

Very nice!
Hi there. Great video. Are you sure they aren’t radioactive? I though they had uranium
I like glassware!!
bargainshopping me too!
I have some glass like this but mine has the yellow-green look when not lit up
Jennifer Layton I like the yellow green a lot. That will be what I look more for in the future.
Congratulations! Score!
Mary Peletier yay

dobie gal awesome info thanks!
They are American made Depression glass. Could be anchor hocking, imperial, Jeanette.
Beautiful
Treasure Jensen thanks!
These ones and had went?
Very nice score i collect that .. I will give you 10 for sugar and creamer haha
michiganhotwheel hw I don’t sell glass, just collect
@@PrincessCasserole tufglas is the name to collect it to is uranium. Very rare i buy everytime i see also slag glass glows as well..but not uranium in slag. But nice score for sure i like murano
Vasiline glass is not the same as uranium glass...... F is for Federal glass, not Fenton......
Gorgeous
Treasure Jensen thanks!
They don't keep the glow?
They are over 50 years old, the radioactive isotopes are in the glass, it doesn't dissapear.
They are radioactive, but the amount of radiation that is put off is nominal
I see this stuff all the time, but its not radioactive which would mean its a copycat the real stuff is radioactive imo
omegasignas lots of things that are common are radioactive. Brazil nuts, bananas, your body. As long as you don’t eat off of it it’s ok.
That's extremely cheap isn't it?
👍
Um, it glows because it is radioactive.
