I would love to see a video of the difference between Ninja and a regular blade on the same mower. Just ordered some with adapters to put on some old mowers I picked up from the local thrift stores. Hoping to get at least one good dependable work horse out of them.
Hi, I have a new Snapper Ninja Mulcher and I was not pleased with how it mulched leaves. I thought the wider no ja blade was letting all to many leaves out from under the deck. I have a yard full of new grass and I have been cutting at 3.25 inches and the grass does not quite have the structure to cut cleanly, yet. However it does provide enough resistance to mulch leaves, yet the Ninja blade was So I slinging out all to many leaves. I decided to give the old reliable Gator blade a chance to see how it did and it turned the leaves into powder, even on semi bare areas in my yard. I was very pleased with how the Gator blade worked on leaves and it cut the grass very comparable to the Ninja blade. When i took the Ninja blade off I looked it over and its four cutting surfaces were still sharp, as one would expect after only 10 hours of operation. I am going to buzz the surfaces with my angle grinder, repaint it and save it for later. I will try it later on tall grass but on leaves the Gator blade will be my choice.
the new yard machines I have, have this raised front area on the front deck and actually throw leaves out the front of the freekin mower and do not mulch worth crap. I have a mtd that has what I call a solid deck out front and mulches 100 percent better.
Someone please explain how the engine effects mulching quality. Neither bogged during the test. Right? Are they both "hi-vac" decks?...or?... Ninja blades? Gator blades?
The brand of engine has zero to do with mulching capabilities, but lots of other variables. Blade style, blade sharpness, deck height, walking speed, RPM, then... torque delivery at the given RPM.
WOW! I have one of those cheap, orange Snapper mowers I bought about 5 years ago. The mulching ability on my Snapper is terrible! No comparison with the red Snapper mowers on your video. I noticed your Snapper mowers have this design where there is an upswept black tube. My guess is that this greatly aids in mulching ability, perhaps trapping leaves and grass in there, and mulching them as they fall back into the deck. Nice.

My 83 snapper hi-vac 3.5hp briggs, puts both those mowers to shame, it's the only mower I use for leaves, I have 2 newer snapper hi-vacs they don't do anywhere near as good of a job as my 83.
They say they mulch best when the deck is set to its highest setting. I see that you had your mowers set at about mid range which is not its highest setting. I have a snapper 21 inch commercial
Snapper, this generation in this video, the older models, these are the ONLY push mowers that the mower will outlast the engine. ALL OTHER BRANDS, be it Honda or what ever brand you care to insert, the MOWER will fail before the engine.
I've been thinking about getting a Hi-vac commercial Snapper (just like you as I can see, but with the Kawi engine). I wanted to know if this mower mulches grass well during the whole season and if you are satisfied with the quality of this mower?
This mower is really worth the money im highly satisfied with this mower it mulches well leaves a nice even cut and its engine is really powerful and reliable im thinking of buying another one of these
My neighbor has an older model (Probably late 90sor early 2000s) and boy, what I would do to get my hands on it. Cut quality's great, rear drive is awesome and very easy to use and work on. Our neighbor's lawn guy has a newer version with the revised throttle and speed controls and he told me otherwise, but only because of how dated the design is. I don't care. I like it and want to get one. Better than my Toro residential (and that's a great mower, don't get me wrong) and a whole lot better than a Honda HRC210. God, I want to like the Hondas, but they're so heavy, clumsy, expensive and hard to work on. I freaking hate those things with a passion. From personal experience, buy an Exmark/Toro or a Snapper and avoid Honda. Great cars and ATVs, but awful mowers.
Robin Subaru ec13v is the last version snapper used. Older versions were the wt1-125 Wisconsin Robin. Its always been a Robin Subaru engine but Wisconsin didn't have a small engine line up so they imported Robin's under their name until Robin was established enough to run their own name in north America. Same engine. The real old ones were white shrouds and wanted 32:1 gas mix. And the later ones ran 50:1 , nothing changed except the oil technology. So you can run your older one on 50:1 if you use a jaso fd synthetic
Yup the best snappers came with the Robin's in my opinion. I have the eh18v 180cc ohv robin commercial and just picked up the legendary ec13v 123cc 2 stroke commercial. Been looking for 15 years for one and had to pay dearly for it. But worth every cent. First pull and it had not run for 10 years
Those are the BEST mowers you will EVER FIND. I guaranty, this guy will be passing both of these mowers down to his kids and grand kids.

Exmark is Toro. The new Super Recyclers are great. Still NOT the build quality you see in this video.

I bought a brand new Snapper Ninja mulching mower, and it's a piece of junk, hard to start and runs like shit
