Exactly, there are levels to this game, at least if you want to do things easier/optimally. Nobody should be doing extended/prolonged fasting (outside of 16:8 eating windows) until they've switched over to a low carb (preferably whole foods dominant) diet and controlled eating windows. And of course after they understand that they have to increase water intake a little and make sure they are adding a pinch of salt to a couple of glasses of water throughout the fasting day (add some baking soda too if you want). Remember that 2-3 cups of black coffee and/or green tea (no sugar/sweeteners/milk/cream etc.) can also be consumed during an extended fast and if you're caffeine sensitive don't drink any coffee/tea during the evening so you don't impact the quality and duration of sleep.
fasting helps your gut repair!! if you stop eating for a longer period of time your system is not using energy for digestion and can use the energy for repair, so, just the simple act of fasting automatically sets you up for gut improvement
Dr. It’s amazing how much you care that you take the time to deduce from the evidence provided by your patients! I have those problems you are discussing but my BS is not high enough to be medicated. I am going ask my Cardio Doc to give me a Insulin Sensitivity test! I will show him this video. I lost 50lbs and my BP still hadn’t gone down. Most days my BS 95 to 110 unless I fast and eat OMAD. When I eat OMAD I do it for a 1 to 2 hour window. Last week after 5 days of OMAD my Ketones were 3.4 and BS 74! I lost the weight with Keto but eat primarily Carnivore now!
If you are suffering with any disease we must starve the body so it can begin to heal fasting has always been the go to for me if your feeling something is off yes make an appointment with your doctor but try fasting as well some need 7 days some 21 days
**Exceptions pregnancy & children** Funny.. babies ALWAYS tell us when they're hungry 🍼 Controlled eatn times/windows can still work... & eatn only when hungry.. rather than feedn a sugar craving. The perfection of fastn is 'when food is out of the way... the body can heal & recover'. Keep 'meal windows' as sm as possible.. start out slow by isolating meal windows... easiest is to combine w/ sleep-times... from moment u put dwn fork the night b4 begins fasting... keep pushn bk ur break-fast... later & later... then plan the end of ur eatn window... go easy on urself... U will find ur groove! Quality foods really helps!! Try to break ur fast w/ a very high-quality fat.. like avocado or MCT oil.. (ur body runs more efficiently off fat .. rather than sugar.. this is y keto works so well)... Keep seeking knowledge & c what works 4u!! Many Blessings 2U
Great information as usual from Dr Jamnadas. I would say that the autophagy (occurs after about 13+ hours of fasting) assists in getting rid of excess skin cells, so you lose weight more gracefully.
I am doing a 5 day water fast, i am 4 days in and feel great and my skin look and feel great. My stomach feels great no bloating. I just add a bit of electrolyte (a bit of sea salt or himalaian pink salt.)
There are levels to this game (extended fasting), at least if you want to do things easier/optimally. Nobody should be doing extended/prolonged fasting (outside of 16:8 eating windows) until they've switched over to a low carb (preferably whole foods dominant) diet and controlled eating windows. They should be on such a protocol for ideally 2-3 weeks, giving ample time for your body to adjust. People need to understand that they have to increase water intake (up to 20% of your daily water intake is from the foods we eat) a little and make sure they are adding a pinch of salt to a couple of glasses of water throughout the fasting day (add some baking soda too if you want) to keep their electrolytes in a healthy range. Remember that 2-3 cups of black coffee and/or green tea a day (no sugar/sweeteners/milk/cream...nothing added to keep calories at zero etc.) can also be consumed during an extended fast and if you're caffeine sensitive don't drink any coffee/tea during the evening so you don't impact the quality and duration of sleep.
Hello I have been doing intermittent fasting since I saw this video. I have lost 4lbs. 3 weeks ago my BP was 132/108 which is high as you know. Today I found out that I lost weight but my BP today is 143/90 I am so happy I saw your video. Thank you Dr.
This truly is the best and most profitable health TH-cam video I have ever listened to. Thank you so much for sharing these outstanding information on fasting and blood pressure.🙏🏾😊👍🏾
All absolutely true--I've done it, according to Dr. Pradip. And I did get the results that he talks about right down to taking my blood pressure medication to half the doses. The problem is sustainability... you get off it because of all the bad stuff friends bring you (like apple fritters, chocolate cakes, etc.), and the cravings start coming back again, and the blood pressure eventually gets back up. So I'm back re-watching Dr. Pradip's videos and gearing up to get back on track. But it really does work as he says and it really feels good when you're doing it right! Sustainability... that's the secret, once you do it right! Fasting does work and is built into the human existence. Vive le fasting and feasting! :-)
OMAD here. Dr Jamnadas nailed it. Better sleep, BP 90/60, mental acuity is astounding and I have way more energy now than I ever did on previous "diets".
@@chriscruciat2469How much can you eat in one meal? Certainly a whole lot less than in three! And more time for digestion, absorption and for insulin level to lower. Which can greatly enhance weight loss. I have lost more weight on OMAD than on a 3-day fast. I've only done 3 days once before but am doing my second one now, 2 months later. I'll see if/how much I lose now.
@chriscruciat2469 That one is easy. Maintenance calories are about 10 kcal for each pound you want to keep. So if you want to be 180lbs let's say, you eat 1800 calories. You probably want a little more than half a gram of protein per pound. So try for 90grams of protein.

Im 34 fit dude, but VERY anxious. Ive reached very low % body fat two years ago, and I mainaned the weight. Ive been experiencing incresing in BP, it goes from 120 to 150 during the day. Other day I was running and I got a backhead ache, I though It was the cold but it might not be. I drink on the weekends and I havent been dieting properly last year. I was drinking 5-7 cups of cofee a day. Ive been trying to stop all this Its been a week. Cut out cofee, Im implementing back my 16:8 fast (one 24h fast a week), and Im changing my diet. I just cant accept Im slowly becoming an Hypertensive, I was competing in sports 2 years ago. Im taking that back.
It's natural for blood pressure to go up early morning to about noon and go down towards the afternoon and evening blood pressure tends to follow circadian rhythm. Circadian rhythm also drives your insulin up in the early morning hours of the day. It gets you ready to start your day and prevents you from passing out when you wake up. It allows you to go to sleep at the end of the day.
I did a 24hr water fast on 20th April and lost 2.0kg (4.41lbs). Just started a 36hr fast tonight and will do a 48hr fast from 3rd-5th August. Will then go for 72hrs between 15th and 18th, and finally 96hrs between 27th and 31st August. Intermittent fasting between 7pm and 1pm in between each fast. My goals are to eliminate inflammation, reduce cholesterol and get BP to
Interesting that insulin is a vasal constrictor reducing nitric oxide (a vasal dialator no less) - ever since i've been controlling my insulin resistance through TRE and 3 day fasting, i've noticed it's easier to ahem...maintain an eggplant emoji...if you know what i mean...also my receeding hair on top of my scalp looks a littl fuller....who knew...
Cut the carbs. I was 180/100. Now 115/62. Wonder why they don't take your fasting insulin? They are just monitoring your glucose to see when to start you on insulin.
In the body when we fast: after we eat, insulin comes in and puts into storage so we build up sone fat. We utilize calories, start burning the sugar, so after 4 or 5 hours, glycogen stores in the liver, and muscles start breaking down to give you the calories that you need to burn to run to day to day activities and when you run out of that by 18 to 20 hours, the body says “hmm I need to start burning that fat now.”
I wish dr Pradip lived in my area so I would have him for cardiologist. My current doctor never wants to talk about foods and causes of plaque, hypertension, etc always throwing more and more medications at me.
Thank you for making this video. For years I have been asking my Doctors if it is possible for someone to have a normal blood sugar level but still have a problem with insulin to no avail. I always believed that I was on to something.
i love both two guys and i can confirm by own experience fasting is a game changer. also i love prof. pradip saying „it is supposed… by design“ ! …i.e. not by coincidence… which should automatically lead to the question who is the designer??… just saying 😊
Thank you doctor for bringing this issue up cause lots of people do not value the importance of fasting. However all Muslims are aware of this fact simply because our Prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him highlighted this healing measure and urged people to fast so they can enjoy their lives free from diseases. That was 1400 yrs ago
Fasting is part of several faiths and spiritual practices. These others just require their practitioners not to make public their fasting. They may fast at any time of the year, the duration is self-determined and their fasts may be for full days, not one meal a day. For one thing, fasting can help to tame fleshly impulses (ability to say no to pleasure and pressure), putting your higher self more in control. It also helps one develop the habit of moderation so that you master life rather than life mastering you. Many non-Muslims fast regularly and voluntarily. They just don't make it known.
Muslims fast 30 days continuously in a years. A real booster for the health. Everything re regulated in your body. … then follow that with fasting on Monday and Thursdays.
I would like to ask into the round, if anyone is in a similar situation like me and has tried IF? I am currently 30, female, 53kg, do 3-4 sports / week( run or gym), and would say that my diet is relatively healthy (lots greens/fibers, no processed foods, no snacking). However, I do like to snack my apple / carrots / nuts in between meals and do not really let my insulin rest I believe… I have been dealing with hypertension for around 2 years now (since its been diagnosed) and have 130/90 readings. With all the mentioned above I can’t bring it down. Not taking any medicine so far. So with hearing the patients that Dr. Pradip is mentioning are mostly a bit overweight, would IF also address skinnier people? Thank you for any answers and help here!
They never answer any of these questions here in the comments, which is a bummer. But what I have gathered from various sources, you should get benefits like staying "younger" (whole body and mind), better skin, better life in general...at least it should prevent things like diabetes, dementia or heart diseases (or even many autoimmune diseases) to happen. I wish I would have started trying IF when I was about 30, but I tried to built muscles. Of course there is a way to do both, but it hinders your muscle gains. But in my case it would have been way better plan. I have been so sick all the time (injuries after injuries, constant pain everywhere, and they even diagnosed fibromyalgia), that I basically just let it go. Now 17 years later I really regret that I didn't give IF a chance. I'm sure I would be 10000% better shape now.
If you are a thin person fasting can become challenging because you don't want to lose any more weight which is likely to happen when we fast, hypertension can be hereditary so it takes more work to avoid it if it's genetic.....I think you should re-evaluate your diet, consume some carbs and a good amount of protein and healthy fat to put some bulk on before you try to fast, also, fruits have alot of sugar, bananas, apples, pears etc, so maybe watch the snacking.....After trying to avoid B/P meds for years I finally gave in until I get it under control....🤞🏽
Doc your a star you help me a lot,I lose a lot and in a smart way, everyones says wow pains gone,❤🎉 your God really appreciate you want people to know the truth, and the truth heal us and set us free, may good God bless you and strengthen you and family ❤😅 Thandi from South Africa

Thank you for this information! I started fasting in April because of this podcast. Triglyceride level was a stunningly low 42 after only 2 weeks of 18:6 fasting 💪🏽
My BMI is 21 but I’ve been on BP meds for 20 years. I’m working my way up to a 72 hour fasts with the goal of getting off the meds. Thanks for giving me a tool to take charge of my health!
You can do it!
Go to the doctors,. Have a full thorough checkup and stop listening to these quacks.
You are biggest liar
You got this! This is my goal for my husband too. It needs to become his goal though. Lol.
Pp😊
Probably, this is one of the best health capsules i gone through. Appreciate the passion shown by the doctor and the way explained. As we say in India, he is a doctor guru 👃👃
Most people have trouble fasting because their gut health is bad. Get the gut under control then implementing fasting into your life. Great interview!
So how do you get your gut under control so to speak?
Eat a wide variety of vegetables and fermented foods… don’t drink alcohol and sto using mouthwash.
Fasting repairs the gut microbiom
I love Dr Jamnadas’ energy and humor and his incredible advice of course! Also love Dr Chatterjee too!😊
My favourite Dr ever. No nonsense!
people who say fasting don't work, don't fast.
I have a Dr. Now quote on my fridge that says, "You're not going to starve!" Thought my mom would have a runaway the first time I did a 72 hour fast.
@@motomyrtle🤣🤣🤣
Exactly!
True, when I fast for 3 days I loose weight, 10 lbs on a liquid fast.
Exactly!!!
Wow. I finally understand!!! I’ll start fasting 6 PM - 10 AM. Need to loose about 15 pounds. We will see!!
How did it go?
Fasting 18 /6 is easy for you are sleeping most of the hours .I do I find it let's your stomach rest
If you are suffering with any disease we must starve the body so it can begin to heal fasting has always been the go to for me if your feeling something is off yes make an appointment with your doctor but try fasting as well some need 7 days some 21 days
He makes so much sense and makes it so easy to understand. Thank you 🙏
This doc always has strong simple messages.
Two brilliant,doctors.
Absolutely fascinating,&
informative.Excellent!
my blood pressure came down and body wight also Thank u very much Doctor
And also my prolactin level Im very happy and thankfull my dear Dr
**Exceptions pregnancy & children** Funny.. babies ALWAYS tell us when they're hungry 🍼
Controlled eatn times/windows can still work...
You are liar
Great information as usual from Dr Jamnadas. I would say that the autophagy (occurs after about 13+ hours of fasting) assists in getting rid of excess skin cells, so you lose weight more gracefully.
I am doing a 5 day water fast, i am 4 days in and feel great and my skin look and feel great. My stomach feels great no bloating. I just add a bit of electrolyte (a bit of sea salt or himalaian pink salt.)
Oh my oh my oh my!! This is a man who is soooo inspiring👍
What a video doc...very very well explained..❤ I owe you everything
Thanks for the explanation 🙏🏽
The best medicine .Is to eat nothing.
✊🏽⚡️ do u have any advice for building muscle
Hello I have been doing intermittent fasting since I saw this video. I have lost 4lbs. 3 weeks ago my BP was 132/108 which is high as you know. Today I found out that I lost weight but my BP today is 143/90 I am so happy I saw your video. Thank you Dr.
Update
Were you still taking your blood pressure meds while fasting ?
What do you eat to break the fast after fasting for 16hours ect?
Are three day fast ok for healthy seniors?
8:45 -- Nitric Oxide (NO) comes to the front ... It is 100% essential in allowing all blood vessels to dilatate..
Are you able to eat enough in one meal to stop weight loss?
Same thing for me.
Amazing insight love the whole rhelm of fasting. This gentleman is an utter legend ❤ thank you Dr PJ ❤
Dr.P.Jamnadas love you so much for coming on You tube and Educating so much knowledge on fasting benifits.god is great for my life providing you on my mobile phone.
You are my Cardiologist online.Thank you so much.
I thought this was dr Paul Hopkins. He's a holistic doctor on you tube too. Very good n talks about circadiun rhythm n all. I'll have to watch this doc more
I Fast between 20 and 24 hours 7 days a week for various periods of time!
I started Fasting, daily exercise, put off diary products and got on a healthy meal once a day, my LDL is now Normal, my Blood Pressure is now btn 112/70- 120/80 and my productivity is super good. I give each type of food I eat 1-2 hours before I can eat another.
Great Teaching and Learning herein. Thanks for sharing Dr.
Thank you for this content.
Thank you for this enlightening conversation. And especially for asking right question - specifically about essential hypertension.
My goals are to eliminate inflammation, reduce cholesterol and get BP to
Let us know how you went. Best wishes.
ممنون از شما لطفا در مورد ریفلاکس معده و میکروب معده بگید چکار باید کرد ؟؟
This man is a genius he sure knows insulin resistance
Can someone provide the fasting plan?
I eat from 9am till 3-4 pm I'm 18.5 stone of muscle fasting is amazing, and if you eat the right food you don't get hungry for ages
What food did you consume
I do not have insulin issues. However I"m struggling with hypertension. What other than insulin resistance can be the reason for this?
Wow. This is tremendously interesting. Thanks
Insulin is a storage molecule.
Nitric oxide is important for blood vessels to dilate.
I wish dr Pradip lived in my area so I would have him for cardiologist. My current doctor never wants to talk about foods and causes of plaque, hypertension, etc always throwing more and more medications at me.
He can't talk about what he don't know, get rid of him....
My blood pressure when down from 220/80 to 110/70 after changing my lifestyle. I am 79
Thank you for making this video. For years I have been asking my Doctors if it is possible for someone to have a normal blood sugar level but still have a problem with insulin to no avail. I always believed that I was on to something.
Such good advice , fasting!🤔 Couldn't be simpler! 8 hour window for food daily . look after your gut and your gut will take care of you! 👌
i love both two guys and i can confirm by own experience fasting is a game changer. also i love prof. pradip saying „it is supposed… by design“ ! …i.e. not by coincidence… which should automatically lead to the question who is the designer??… just saying 😊
Very illuminating!
So how do you fast Doc? We get you need to fast but when and how
Such a big fan of Dr Pradip!!
Very true. It's not new to muslims.
Thank you for that information. Was always wondering why Muslims fast so much.
Am also asking why Muslims dont have cancer issue
Great video, thanks for sharing!
I would like to ask into the round, if anyone is in a similar situation like me and has tried IF?
I am currently 30, female, 53kg, do 3-4 sports / week( run or gym), and would say that my diet is relatively healthy (lots greens/fibers, no processed foods, no snacking). However, I do like to snack my apple / carrots / nuts in between meals and do not really let my insulin rest I believe…
I have been dealing with hypertension for around 2 years now (since its been diagnosed) and have 130/90 readings.
Ive been fasting 20:4 & have lost 15.5 pounds since 3/3/24… feel great & eat healthy during eat window. ❤
What type of fast are we referring to?
Doc your a star you help me a lot,I lose a lot and in a smart way, everyones says wow pains gone,❤🎉 your God really appreciate you want people to know the truth, and the truth heal us and set us free, may good God bless you and strengthen you and family ❤😅 Thandi from South Africa
As a muslim fasting is blessings for us alhumdulillah
Any guide on how to do a good fasting ?
Very very good, but how do you explain a person like Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones?
A freak of nature??? LOL :D
Alot of money can do alot of things
I became faint after fasting for 96 hours. I was still taking my blood pressure meds. I am wondering if my blood pressure may have gotten too low !
Hummm...ya know...Jesus tells (Bible) tells us to fast! Assumes we are fasting. Jesus says 'when you fast'. We are supposed to fast. This remarkable doctor is right!!!
You're right, Jolene. We are expected to fast.
There's wisdom to tradition, yes. Generations might have very odd practices, but many just plain work.
Jesus is a myth before he was mythically born 😊😊😊

Dr. Jamnadas is an inspiration for human health and is not well known enough.
Each process in the universe is in a cycle. The cycle is a base for life. Even the time is always measured by counting of the cycles.
