How to Improve Hurdle Technique - Advanced Hurdle Drills for sprint and 400m hurdles

  • We will look here at some more advanced hurdle drills to help you focus on developing your hurdle technique. These are relevant for both sprint hurdlers and 400m hurdlers. We look at lead and trail leg drills, both with a single hurdle against a wall and running over them.
    Some are relatively simple, others, like the hanging lead leg drill and one stride hurdling, require more practice and experience to master.
    Learning how to improve hurdle technique will lead to your being able to run hurdles faster. We have included hurdles drills for lead leg and hurdles drills for trail leg in the video.
    Start to introduce these more advanced hurdle drills into your warm-up and let us know how you find them!

    Differences between your videos and others showing hurdle technique and drills is you give detailed explanations on positioning and spacing of hurdles others simply don't provide or overlook. Thank you!

      We have lots of athletes training with us - the fastest runs 10.6 for 100m, with a couple more sub 11 and about a dozen or so under 11.5. What have you run?
