Hello, I don’t know your name but I’m Veronica and I enjoy your videos. I’m a vintage jewelry collector and maker and I especially love brooches and pins. I have quite a large collection. What beauties! Out of all of them there are only about six that I would pass on. The rest are just gorgeous quality pieces. I love your direct approach when you describe each piece, not too long, not too short. I’m looking forward to your next video and I will certainly watch your previous ones!
Thank you Veronica! I am glad you stopped by.
My favorite was the last one with the milk glass and rhinestones. I love pieces that look more vintage or antique. And the quality of that piece was outstanding! Thanks for a great video!
@@lauragoldman8516 Yes, nice piece. I like the more antiquish ones the best too. Thanks for watching! 😊
I'm binge watching your vids now. You mentioned one brooch marked West Germany and thought 30s-40s. Anything marked West Germany has to be 1949-1989/90 🤗 the country split after the war and to recover their economy, West Germany made costume jewellery and exported it 🤓 then the wall came down in 89 to be one Germany again. So that's a quick way to narrow the date range for any WG marked items.
Yeah, I know. Sometimes when I'm doing videos I lose my knowledge looking at all the beautiful pieces. Lol!!! Then I realize what I said later. Thanks for binge watching! Appreciate it! 🥰
I admire your consistency in putting out fun and educational videos on jewelry!!! 💕🤩💥🎉💖
Thank you Esme! 😊
Wow! Your shopping skills are amazing! Lots of work. I'm sure it isn't easy to find these quality pieces. This is where studying your craft comes into play. Some people think it's all luck, and once in a while I'm sure it is; but your video is proof of your knowledge. I love your Juliana find...and I would be interested to find out if the square/diamond brooch is Juliana as well. Thank you for sharing and adding to my education of jewelry.
I honestly do not find this many nice brooches in one spot but this one antique mall has a great seller. She is clearing out her stock but I am still paying up per piece. I want it all, lol!!! Thanks for watching Arleen!
Hi, so glad I found your channel. Love, love, love looking at these treasures and really appreciate the education about each piece. I collect vintage jewelry and know I can estimate from what period/origin they come! Can't wait to view and learn more!
@@56RCD glad you came by!!! 🥰🥰🥰
What amazing finds!! On the crown brooch, you mentioned cabochons are smooth toped. The description of a cabochon is to have a flat bottom. Tops can be varied, of any material. but must have a flat bottom. First video I have seen, and subscribed. Great job. The metal backs that are a flat are used to cover the stitches and wire work that holds the beads together. Miriam Haskell used them a lot.
Thank you! Yes, you are correct, a cabochon is flat bottomed but not faceted or carved in any way on top. It is domed, and smooth on top. If it is faceted it would be a rhinestone or carved or Lava, etc. And yes, the smooth plate on back covers the wire construction like Miriam. I guess I don't explain myself very well. I am usually thinking about many things as i am speaking like is this possibly Miriam. Lol!!! I kept thinking on this one piece that it was so flat it couldn't hardly be covering up wires. Thanks for subscribing and appreciate you watching!!!
WOW! Beautiful brooches! You mentioned the one that had AB beads might be from the 1940s..... AB coating was not mass produced by Swarovski until 1956. It was originally created for Christian Dior a couple years prior to that. And for Juliana, I couldn't tell.... did the one have a pin stop? That is something that D&E always used. Also they really never used that V pin back.... those were often used in Austrian brooches, that resembled Juliana for sure! But AMAZING HAUL. That last brooch though.... HOLY COW. That was an incredible score! Way to go!
Hey! Glad you stopped by. Yeah, when looking at these I forget sometimes as I am analyzing them. I realize it later. Lol!! I asked Ann Pitman once, the writer of the Juliana book, about the pin stop and she said that is not for sure. There is a lot of chatter about it in the groups. I really am enjoying these new finds though. Cant wait to get more. Thanks for watching!
Cool, I thought that exception was on figurals only
Awesome finds and video - i think the confetti one is a glasses holder brooch with the little loop at the bottom
Could be! Good call! 😊 Thanks for watching!
Lovely haul. Love all the beautiful colors 💕💕💐
Thanks Regina. Yes, lots of color. Glad you came by!!! 🥰
what type of stone are you calling the brown and black one at 6:13?
Givre
I have also seen the copies of american vintage on chineses websites but they are not signed. this brooch Monet is a riddle.
@@agnieszkajezyk-chlebowska9274 unfortunately the Chinese are signing some. Most are not, but some are. Thanks for watching.
@@FindsofYesterday Oh, they spoil the whole vintage market!
@@agnieszkajezyk-chlebowska9274 yes they do!
