    This is always the hardest part for me......it lasts FOREVER & drives me mentally insane cuz there's not even a minute of relief. This is what makes you to want to crawl out of your skin, toss & turn, & literally want to scream! You want to live in & out of the shower, but your so weak it's hard to do!
    And any sort of sleep meds intensifies this feeling by a million too, so glad u mentioned this!
    This is the hardest battle for many of us, yet no one ever talks about it, THANK YOU FOR THIS 💖 Doctors always refer to it as anxiety, but to me this is far worse than anxiety!

    • @dr.chrispark
      @dr.chrispark  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I agree. It is different from anxiety and sometimes I even have difficulty figuring out what's causing what. But restless legs is a real beast. Thanks

      Sophia MacFarlane it’s such a relief hearing others talk about this “syndrome”
      I got off the pain killers but the RLS made it impossible for me to function!!! The initial withdrawal was the easy part compared to the no sleeping and RLS!!!

    Before I was on soboxon every time I began feeling WD it was always the restless leg syndrome except it was restless whole body syndrome . It is by far the reason I couldn’t stop taking narcotics. The way I had to squeeze every muscle continuously , laying on my bed, couch or cold kitchen floor looking like I was humping the air, 😆, but seriously, I can take all other WD symptom .

      Are you unable to or not want to use suboxone ?
      Or trying to do this cold turkey? That’s hard AF . Heat never helped me but a cold wet towel helped , I think because the nerve endings are “waking up” and the cold helps calm that down,

    Over the counter at Walmart it’s called leg cramps PM by hylands. I took 10 per night for my first few nights of sub withdrawals and I couldn’t believe it really worked. After my 4th night I started tapering down and by night 10 I didn’t have anymore RLS. You can take up to 15 tablets per night per the instructions. I was shocked that something over the counter and only $10 would do the trick. The daytime restful legs by the same company didn’t work for me the first time I jumped off. Make sure you get the PM and don’t be afraid to take plenty of them each night. Read the directions. 👍 you can do this!

    Two drugs used in UK since 1990’s.Lofexidine for general withdrawal mitigation, but it’s not well known in US,and I believe expensive..a two week taper is around 1500 dollars, unless you’re insured? You can’t avoid some discomfort, but Lofexidine can make a massive difference. Second is a dopamine agonist, basically a dopamine boost, called Pramipexole.I’m unsure about prescribing issues in US,but this can be prescribed during early stages of detoxification and again definitely helps.Take both of these alongside large doses of Magnesium and vitamin C…best wishes to anyone trying for change and freedom😊

I fear that when (and as you said it WILL) it stops working is that he will resort to his old drug habits. I warned him of this constantly....I can only pray for him.... I have had no contact with him since then end of last year. He also NEVER used a low does of anything... he once went through 200 ibuprofen within a couple of weeks! @@elena19044 WTF 200 ibuprofen in a week. But why. His liver has to be shot. Geez I truly see why you said you got a divorce. Plus the stealing and lying. After a while I was so tired of it and actually didn't want to be high that I become open and told people about my use and that I want to stop. I never had an issue. Then in 2010 when I was 23 my died dad at age 48. Happened so fast and I turned to painkillers. No one knew because I was still big and working out. Wasn't the skinny little frail person people think of. Ironically I hate being high. I like feeling sharp and in control. Became physical. Off tangent but yes kratom is great to help for a few days but then it has to be stopped. By the sound of it your ex was never planning on stopping it. Not to be weird but by the look of your pic, he is dumb. He had a dime piece of a wife who cared and that wasn't enough. But sometimes nothing is. For him something will have to happen to him or maybe a switch will go off and he will get help. Hope so. Hate seeing someone crumble like that all because of a pill or an herb. It's crazy when you think of it like that. I haven't used it in a year. Took a month to withdrawal from and a few months to feel okay. I used to train a lot and during the process I lost muscle and was skinnier. No motivation. Slowly came back tho.

It actually helped calm the extreme uncomfortable feeling of my nerves being on overdrive after being numbed so long. I am still weaning down my soboxone , getting closer to having to go through some WD and it’s scaring me a bit. 5 yrs on soboxone is long enough but I don’t care if I go well into yr 6 weaning down to the least amount of WD as possible.

    Dont use Kratom, You will get addicted to it just like subz. And to me the withdrawals where worse with kratom then Subs. Im on day 11 of cold turkey from subs and feel fine mostly. I take welbutrin and Ozempic and Nurotin as it is, So I haven't felt to bad so far. I got on subs to get off kratom cause i was not only buying kratom I was buying research chemicals (Basicly hydrocodone) and mixing them. It got really bad and really scary near the end. And when I got on Subs with withdraws from kratom kept me in bed for weeks seeing and hearing things (I talked to my dead cousin, and I seen my dead cat) And finally I was able to get off of that crap. Theres a anti-depressant kinda effect with kratom that mixed with some of my other drugs that made it super super hard to quit.

      I take 75 mg before I go to sleep and 75 at night, I startet that maybe 4 days ago, first night I was sleeping well, but next day I couldn’t sleep well already, I’m waking midnight or 1am, and then I got very strong RLS, stronger as I had without Lyrica...
      Or isn’t it enough with 75 mg at night?
      Should I try to take 150 before sleep?
      Or should I stop to take them?
      I’ll ask an doctor about Clondine today.
      Last three days were the very worst until now, I fear to fall back
      Thanks for your support

      Dr. Chris Park I m tryin to set Lyrica on 0 today, I already had problems with gabapentin a few years ago, I thought maybe it would be better with Lyrica, but it’s more worse then the Subutex withdrawal alone as this medication makes me can’t sleep...
      I just took them 3 or 4 day now, you think it’s possible to let them be?
      I appreciate for your quick answer, that is gold worth.
      In Europe aren’t as much cases about opioid withdrawals...
      🙏 thanks for your work...

    In my past I’ve had very heavy habits with strong prescription opiates like oxy, opana, hydromorphone etc and illicit narcotics like heroin (though I’ve only ever snorted it and never injected) and I’m very familiar what full on cold turkey WD feels like. I eventually consolidated my addiction into only taking kratom and eventually was taking about a kilo a week of kratom, and was taking kratom exclusively for about a year and a half, and
    wanted to get off but by then I had WD, while different, were very intense. Insomnia and restless leg are very intense with a heavy kratom addiction. Finally I went on suboxone, 8mg 3x a day and tapered down to 4mg 2x a day. I accidentally lost my script a few months ago and had to go a week without having any before I was able to refill. While I did have WDs, they were much more mild than any other time I’ve experienced them. The major symptoms were the RLS and insomnia though but this wensday I am finally stopping the suboxone for good. I have a prescription for gabapentin which has always in the past helped with RLS

    • @chriscraven9335
      @chriscraven9335 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The subox takes forever to leave your system, it's why your WDs after losing your scrip weren't bad or non-existant. Had you gone another week without, you'd have been unable to function. And when sub WDs do finally start, they last for MONTHS

    Restless leg syndrome sounds real cute, but for those who get it bad it is the worst experience ever, period. It was the only withdrawal symptom that scared me. To the point where beating addiction actually boiled down to beating restless leg. It took me years to find it but Kratom and clonidine is the magic bullet.

    Use Kratom responsibly and it most certainly helps w RLS. I have found Kratom to be a great tool for opiate withdrawal, alleviating most of the WD symptoms. Kratom has potential for abuse but it doesn't have to be that way. If kratom is used correctly for 3-4 weeks there will be little problem. Kratom has been a lifesaver for me. Thank you for your vids and all your information, Doc.

      Absolutely incredible. 4 days off a 12 year Suboxone run and I'm not sick. Red Maengda strain. Just amazing. I'm dosing about 5 grams in the morning and another 5 grams at night. The dosages of Suboxone these Doctors put people on is criminal. I found that out when I tapered down to about 2 mg over one month. I was on 20 mg a day when 8 mg...or even 4 mg would have worked. I was a heavy hitter and know this. Thank God for this wonder leaf.

      So quick question. Do you face the Suboxone withdrawals after stopping Kratom? I never had a pill problem, but my ex wife did prior to us meeting and was on Subs. I would take one of hers here or there, and 8 years later you know where this is going. A few years ago I decided to jump off 8mg subs. Being I was never addicted to pain pills, and was on subs so long just trying not to WD, I got someone’s script of hydro 5’s and would just take one in the morning so I could function at work and take one at night to get some sleep. I did that for 2 weeks then stopped. And OMG! The withdrawals were horrible, and I literally crawled back into my doctors office puking, and twitching from muscle spasms and begged him to write a script. So that’s what I’m worried with trying Kratom is if I would just be masking the withdrawals and have to face them down the road when I got off Kratom?

    • @RickyPisano
      @RickyPisano 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mcafee3604 No... once the Suboxone is out of your system that's it. The Kratom has an alkaloid in it that binds to the same receptors in the brain that Suboxone does but it's not narcotic. A week ago I had never even heard of Kratom so this is what I've been able to research. I've also talked to a few people that have used it to get through withdrawal. EVERY ONE OF THEM said it was a God send. The bad thing about Suboxone is it has a really long half life. Much like methadone. I withdrew from a monster methadone habit prior to going on Suboxone 12 years ago. It was the worst withdrawal I've ever had and I've had my share...trust me. I was terrified to have to do it again.....especially being 12 years older. I did get sick once on the Suboxone when my script ran out after I relocated to Tennessee. I was only without it 4 days and it kicked in like a monster. I'm 7 days now without Suboxone and the Kratom has been a life saver. I'm not 100% but it's a cakewalk compared to what it would have been. I wish you luck and please let me know how you make out. I feel for anyone with this terrible demon of addiction.

      Ricky Pisano thank you so much!! It definitely Isn’t fun!! I’ve never withdrew from anything, but Suboxone a few times when I tried to quit. But I’m tired of feeling like I’m living in a fog. It’s like I’m watching my life unfold from a spectators stance. Lol, and the final straw was it stole my motivation. I used to be highly drivin, and owned businesses and it made me where I don’t even want to leave the house and my drive is non existent. I’ve also always been a salesman type personality and I don’t even want to talk to people anymore. So I said screw it and started tapering myself down. I’m at 1mg, down from 8mg but I’ve literally been up 3 days with maybe 2 hours sleep total, when I just nod out. But it’s like the muscle craps and spasms know when I drift off, because they promptly wake me up! Lol. It’s been 6 days of this crap, and I’m just ready to be done. I don’t want to go back up a mg because all that pain would have been for nothing, and when I stabilize on a mg and going 0.5 the very next day. I’m just looking for something To help me through this last leg, 8mg to 2mg was a breeze, but 2mg and down has been hell!

    I'm currently 21 and I've been an addict since 16. My mother is prescribed the blue oxy 30's and OP 40's. I used to give my friend money and say "Hey can you buy this from her and bring it to me. She is currently 59 and she has been on pain pills for almost 15 years now for arthritis and many many other problems. She found out in no time that I was taking them and when she did she was PISSED I tell you but she told me these exact words "As a mother I can't stand seeing you go through withdrawals and I'd do anything to help you" and she started giving me one OP 40 a day. I'm not blaming her for what I have done to myself. My mother is the most amazing woman I have ever known and I will never ever find anyone as kind as her. She has helped me EVERY DAY for the past four years and the only thing I have done in return is treat her like garbage. At the beginning of every month she gets her proscription of 30 oxy 30s and 60 OP 40s and within one week she runs out and goes sick herself for the next 2 weeks until she gets them again and if I think the withdrawals are bad from 5 years of addiction then imagine how bad it is for someone who's been on them for 15 years. When she runs out I yell and curse at her because she doesn't have any left and blame her for running out when it's my fault. Since she's the greatest mother alive then that means she deserves the greatest son but instead she got me. She never gave up on me but I keep doing it. I love you mom and I hope one day you can forgive me.

    A heating pad will help as well!! Keeping your legs warm, even if you’re sweating, will help! Don’t go the route of smoking grass because that will simply start another demon!! A healthy diet and protein and veggies is critical!!! Neurontin (gabapentin) does help!!! Be careful talking to a “doctor” about tapering your meds because I actually had a chronic disease specialist tell me I shouldn’t do that and that I should start taking the recommended dose again! If I had, I would have gone from the 8 mg I was taking back to 24 mg!! Could have killed me!! Oh, by the way, suboxone or buprenorphine will crumble your teeth because it’s HIGHLY acidic!! You at least need some type of rinse like oxyfresh or something like it that resets the ph in your mouth if you’re still taking it. I’m having to get another tooth pulled this coming Tuesday and am looking at having to get 4 tooth implants largely due to this drug!!! If you don’t get off of this crap, you won’t have any teeth!!!!! I’m NOT joking!!! Implants are expensive, and depending on where you live can cost upwards of $2-3k for the implant and another $1,200-3,000 for the crown!! Possible over $5k for each tooth!! Not to mention you have to endure bone grafts and waiting over 3 months for the bone graft to heal, then another 6 months for the implant to heal!!! This crap is just horrible and another “ball and chain” that drags you down and controls your life!! It messes with your hormones, and kills your sex drive!!! There’s so much more to this than you know or are told about it!! Trust me, doctors don’t know SQUAT about it, and pharmacists know barely more!!! Learn about it...and hand in there!! I’m going through the same thing!!! It’s been almost 48 hours since I’ve taken any, and I know I barely have 1/3 of it out of my system!! I’ll be in my bed, with a heating pad, and walking my dog for exercise in between!! Pray for me, and I will certainly pray for all those wanting help coming off of it!!

      Try methadone withdrawal. Heroin is a picnic compared to it. I kicked heroin in jail a couple times and it definitely wasn't fun but was over fairly fast.... the physical part anyway. Methadone was the worst withdrawal I've ever experienced in my 40 years of addiction and I was a dumpster. Did pretty much all the narcotics. Had a quack doctor I was always an expert at finding, prescribe me 80mgs of methadone a day for back pain. I thought my ship had finally come in. No more hustling. I would manage it. I couldn't have been more wrong. The 80mgs a day went to 100mgs in a week. Then 120mgs, then 140mgs, etc. I was getting the 40mg wafers and at the end I was breaking 10 of them in half at a time. 400mgs a pop. Out of my mind. I've never nodded like that in my life. Mid-sentence I'd go out. Just gone man. So, that script would be gone in days and back to the street and hustling. Only now my habit was off the charts. I couldn't cop enough dope or pills to get high, just barely enough to not be sick, until script day rolled around again. Then back to about 100mg a day and the cycle repeated. I went to an appointment on script day a little over a year later and the doctor was GONE. The DEA pulled his license and there was a female P.A. there instead. She called me in and told me she couldn't find anything in my file to explain the prescription I'd been getting. No X-rays, absolutely nothing. She was totally hip to what was going on. She told me she would write me ONE MORE script. That was it. Then she mentioned Suboxone to me. She told me It was a new drug for addicts that would stop the withdrawal but not get you high. At all. It was the first time I'd ever heard of it. She asked me if I wanted another appointment to try it. She told me to make sure I was in withdrawal when I came for that one. I told her that wouldn't be a problem. I showed up to that appointment sick as ever. The Suboxone was little red pills then. She brought me in and handed me two of them and told me to let them dissolve under my tongue. I did and 15 minutes later I experienced one of the most profound moments of my life. I didn't get high at all, but the withdrawal was GONE and so was the craving. Just disappearred. After almost 30 years of addiction it was unbelievable. That's when the 10 year Suboxone merry-go-round started. Two and a half of the 8mg/2mg. So 20/5mg Buprenorphine/Naloxone. 10 years every day. I was never told to wean and in my opinion that dose was way too high. That finally ended with a fight with my new doctor after moving. Constantly charging me more, hassling me. I'd just had enough. I had about 15 pills saved and broke them to wean but it was way too fast. That's when I first heard of Kratom. It was unbelievable that I'd never even HEARD of it. Read above. It worked for me. It was a miracle in my life.

Just rsl and no sleep for a few days. Withdrawal is bad for me now. But I'm weaning down myself and am hoping weaning will lessen it all when it comes to that point. How can't it? Same say it helps some say it dont Matter. Hearing that eats at me. Hope that's not true. Then why am I wasting my time weaning. Idk anymore lol

      @@andyc9979 thanks bro. Yesss it all seems over now, funny was gradually getting better but it sure didnt feel that way.
      Keep going bro, now that i can look back a bit ( paws are no fun) it was mostly in my head, the restless arms n legs were def real but the everyday anticipation n anxiety created in own mind made it 100 times worse. It dont seem so bad now . Idk good luck bro. I def think weaning works better jumping at 0.5 mg of subs versus 300mg oxy that was digesting dailly for years would been wayyyy way worse in my opinion.
      It can be done. Feel free again. Rarely crosses mind anymore. Hang in there n best of luck.

    Magnesium!!! In a highly absorbable form. CALM powder sold online and health shops. Or chelated magnesium sold at Walmarts. It relaxes muscles as well as your mind. We are all deficient in magnesium anyway. Can be given to anyone, old or young.

      I’ve been taking it for years, even before withdrawal. So good for restless legs or tight muscles of any kind. Please do yourself a favor and try it. $5 up to Walmarts is worth it.

    All you did was recommend drugs for the first 5 minutes, then you said you don't advocate for drugs! Doctors are so weird.

    Why withdraw from sub at all?
    I simply do not get it, particularly since maintenance doses can be very low.
    Geez, some people just crave agony.

      Because a recovery center put me on it 10 yrs ago to leave a pain program 4mg 3 times a day now I have a new problem that's why. Stop judging people on here it's the last thing we need. God Bless 🙏 ✝ 🕊 👑

    I was experiencing RLS at about 12 years old. I’m now 60 and it’s BRUTAL. In my legs, arms and torso on occasion. I’ve had numerous back and neck injuries, surgeries and fractures. After being placed on MOUT it stopped RLS cold as well as the constant pain. Nuerontin and Baclofen are part of that. I was at 4800mg of Nuerontin per day. After being placed on the Fentanyl patch I was able to taper to 400mg per day. After several years on the patch and MSContin I took myself by switching to Suboxone. I was told it would work for chronic pain as well. It did not do much for pain but worked perfectly for RLS. So now I go several months on Suboxone; when I cannot stand the pain anymore I’ll do a few months on MSContin and Dilaudid.
    Of all the meds I used Suboxone was the best for RLS. The Requip and Mirapex caused my symptoms to worsen over 3 weeks. Was given Oxycodone and it also caused augmentation.
    RLS is absolutely horrible. I was a major airline pilot but the constant fatigue and battling to find the right meds for it cost me my medical certification and ultimately my career.
    I swear if I was tied to a board with my RLS in full tilt boogie I would beg for a bullet to the head…
    Thank you for this video.
