Btw, the shieldiest weapon, as I heard (sadly can't play the beta cos of territorial restrictions), really needs some help (somehow even more now). Is it true? How's non-Gun Lance?
Non-Gun Lance lost its counter guard for every poke you do. Now, it's only after 3 pokes, with triangle doing triple thrust and o doing the counter guard. Imo, makes lance essentially useless, now that gl has its counter guard now with reload guard. TLDR, they made lance dogwater. Turned from a good weapon that wasnt favourable to undeniably the worst by far. Hopefully they reinstate the counter guard
@@thehooman4705, yeah, that sounds disturbing. It is objectively less mobile here with the removal of blast dash, but the mirco adjustments with shell step and focus mode to realign yourself is really wicked! Can't wait to see what the game cooks up
@@makosaltaccount9658 more mobile compared to main titles. The portable titles like rise and such shouldn't be counted because they're always way crazy compared to the main titles in movement
I'm hoping, that the elements will be viable not only as multi-hit beneficiars this time and more like seperate ingame mechanics (heat up and weaken something metal, cool of smth malding, clean of protective layers and etc.), that MUST be utilized for different gaming experience (at the end I will elaborate this thought). We already got smth close to this idea with Wolrd's/Icebourne's Barroth and Lavasioth as more obvious examples (Alatreon done it really bad, making element just another raw, but with obligatory number check; I'm saying this as certified "elementalist" hunter, mind you). But single weapon at hand made it so only slinger pods were used, and even them - by the minority (why many people hated Lasavioth btw). General public just think about single most universal option - physical raw. And understandable so, cos crafting 5 weapons is a lot more, than 1 and only + most useful moves on many weapons (like GS, as a perfect example) suck with elements and even statuses, so if you want to play with that options as GS hunter, you need to spam charged round slashes (which are even longer for preperation, than basic charged slashes LOL; and yeah, motion values are NOT the part of the ingame information as additional problem to elemental builds). So if we as players can use elemental weapons as hunt-flow changing feature, I think it will be better for everyone. What I mean: e.g. you hunting Doshaguma with raw - fight goes as usual. But when you use fire weapon, your attacks burn it's fur and skin, dealing additional tick damage, but Doshaguma then rages more and faster, also using new wide rolling attacks to prevent fire spreading. Thus you either can hunt medium difficulty, but longer, or use faster option with more risk. For thunder it can be so Doshaguma fears Rey Dau, thus fighting more cowardly, usually calling for its pack for help and usilng more ranged attacks, throwing boulders and ceratonoths as a method of fight prevention. Whereas thunder itself can have implemented stun status affliction accumulation (like KO and Exhaust on the head, but slower and every hitzone), cos Doshaguma is, for this case, weak to lightning. Just imagine, how this implication can make very monster even more unique of an experience for players!
