@BurnTheNotice There are numerous excellent quality recordings of her vocals, including of course her own albums. What you probably mean is "unaffected" (without reverb, delay, chorus effects etc).
I saw her in Grand Rapids on that tour. I hung out with her before the show and she was very friendly…shy, but very friendly. I purchased a journal from her that she signed for me.
Seeing her with a full band is an incredible experience if you ever get the chance. Literally held her own on a bill with all metal bands last time I saw her.

I do love Emma Ruth Rundle, her work with Thou was good but not as much my thing as her earlier stuff. "I wear the colours of Babylon" is such an interesting line, I have no idea what colours those are or why you'd wear them, but it sure sounds cool
Never heard of her but by the end I sure was wishing it lasted a lot longer. 💙 The simplicity really allows her voice to shine. Happy Halloween 👻 Chelsea
Chelsea is so underrated. This was beautiful, and her new album "She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She" is definitely one of my favorites of the year.

I love the dark and lush wall-of-sound style that Chelsea Wolfe employs on most of her albums and at her live shows, but her songs are so beautiful and haunting when stripped down like this as well. Perfect tiny desk concert for this spooky season.
I don't think I have heard anyone put so much of their heart and inner feelings and turmoil into their work, lyrics and performance since Joni Mitchell wrote the Album 'Blue'. Thank you for letting us in, to listen too the whispers your personal echo chamber. Chelsea is truly an alchemist, turning such a basic and minimalist approach into something complex and precious. PS, I'm just having to play this for the third time in a row. The more times I watch/listen to this performance, the deeper and deeper it gets under the skin, to the heart, the mind and the soul. Well I really do have to rush for the bus now, I'll be back later... Peace ❤
Tiny Desk is truly a musical home for everyone, be they human or vampire! Blessed be the day Spotify recommended me Flatlands years ago. Been listening to this Lady ever since!
One of my favorite album this year, just beautiful. Pleasantly surprised seeing her perform Flatlands.. teared up a bit ngl. Also that Place in the Sun rendition gave me full blown chills
Sublime! What a fabulous & captivating performance. Thank you Chelsea Wolfe and NPR Tiny Desk for treating us all to this wonderous concert. Beautiful.
She was, they were, incredible on Monday in Manchester. This ice queen got quite emotional. It’s been a tough 12+ months and that set was pure therapy. What an incredibly gifted musician, poet/lyricist and vocalist. Thank you Chelsea and your awesome band mates. 🖤
Listening to Chelsea Wolfe for about 10 years now including a live show I was lucky to attend. Hard to believe it's been so long. Somehow the voice is the same but her style and consequently the emotions I experience from her songs have been so vastly different over the years.
The dark goddess who sings the Siren song , that doesn’t cast us on the rocks but draws every emotion from our being . Music should be Dark, pure, and fills us with Serenity !
wow - just mindblowing. at this point you are such an awesome performer its almost scary. This tiny desk concert will be in my playlist forever - as all your other youtube video. 🖤
How did Chelsea Wolfe become 40 years of age before I was introduced? I thoroughly enjoyed this performance, so simple, yet so many layers. Looking forward to delving further.
highly recommend Unknown Rooms and Birth of Violence. They’re both folksy like these renditions of these songs. Everything else ranges from electronic to doom metal to trip hop. She has an incredible amount of variety in her discography
her presence is so calm yet commanding; her voice absolutely riveting. the production on the album was really masterful and I appreciate Chelsea providing more stripped back versions of the tracks as a companion.
So does my friend who's the front man of a band. But as soon as he steps on stage he's a different person. Such is the case with many performers I as I understand.
She is doing an acoustic set in Philly at the first Unitarian church tonight driving over 3 hours each way to hear her in a gorgeous church acoustic with candles and possible chance of a halfsleeper performance would be all the Christmas gifts I need.
Once again, a reminder that Chelsea Wolfe released one of the most essential albums of the year Also, that performance of Place in the Sun !!! Gorgeous
I can't believe there's another Chelsea Wolfe tiny desk! I have a few artists that I go back to continually and Chelsea is one of them, partially because of watching her play live before she had a first album, going out of my way to purchase her first album on mp3 (which I knew nothing about at the time) and watching everything she's released since. She is crazy talented and I think fondly of the conversations I had with her back in my Sacramento days. Someday I hope to see her live again, but this is perfect, I adore acoustic sets.

Same. That album came out while I was in grad school and it holds a very special place in my heart.
Yeay, one of my all time favorites.
I discovered her thanks to Mark Lanegan covering that song, her music is indelible to say the least
Saw her randomly before a Russian Circles show in St. Louis like 15 years ago, absolutely blew me away. The goth queen we all need.
