  • I appologize a head of time for not showing the whole process. I decided to do it at the very end and figured a verbal description would have helped me so I hope this helps you.

    Thank you for this video - 6 years later still helping out. Made this replacement easy!

    Thank you for making this video! I got a replacement set and was baffled on how to do the headband piece. Despite how much you say this isn't a great video, it sure helped me understand how to do this.

    saved me a lot of headache and probably breaking parts, trying to figure it out myself... thanks for this tutorial! :) the old HD 380s look like new now!

    This is the only acceptable video tutorial on the internet for replacing the headband padding (lots of videos on replacing the ear cup padding), thank you for making & sharing this video. Replacing the headband padding is considerably finickier than the ear cup padding.

    Thank you very much, after your video, I accidentally found this clip in the house and put it in place. Now the headband is adjustable as it should)

    1. You can still get them from Sennheiser Prod. Code 531464
    2. There is only 1 ratchet (metal clip) on each L&R side of the headband.
    3. You only need to remove one retaining clip from one side... the ratchet shouldn't come out.
    4. Slide the old padding out through the gap between the earpiece and bracket.
    5. When sliding the new padding in the same way just make sure it doesn't catch on the bracket at the other end. Check the ratchet still works.
    6. Have no fear... it's an easy job!

    Really helpful, thank you. I just took out the retainer clip on one side and slid out the old an in the new. Appreciate the warning about the wire. Cheers from Australia 😉

    It would be useful to mention that there are two rails on each side of the headband; one for the headphones' metal bracket and another for the headband's foam insert.
    If you accidentially insert the foam insert into the headphones' rail, you'll find it impossible to slide the foam insert all the way in and over the headphone's metal brackets. In this case, remove the foam insert completely and re-insert it carefully, making sure that it uses the outer rail (further away from the headband's back).

    Thank you!! This video was a lifesaver. The metal piece fell out immediately but I didn't panic cause i watched this video beforehand. God knows I would've been lost without the video

    Thank you , I used a linoleum knife to pry out one stop and then slid the old pad out without touching the other stop or the metal piece.
    I then slid the new pad in and snapped one new stop in. Done! Could not have been so easy without your help.

    Worked great, video helped me prepare. FYI, a video on replacing headband for HD600 also helped as the head band for the HD 380 Pro came off and on similar to HD600. Funny note: when I finished I had a small metal piece left over on my work area. However, you noted it worked without, mine did too, so I left it alone. Thanks again

    Thanks man. I wasn't sure about the stops as my replacement parts didn't come with replacement stops. This video showed me I could just pop them out.

    Thanks alot! Used this to replace my headband on my 380 Pro's. I didn't actually need a screwdriver to pry up the stoppers (too lazy to walk down to the lab and get one)
    Now I feel like I've got a new set of headphones

    With your guide, I managed to take apart my Sennheiser GAME ZERO headset. But, now I can't get the metal piece to go back in, and it's not quite the same shape as yours. ^^;
    Edit: I was able to get it back together properly! I actually didn't end up replacing the headband for now, as it's just starting to tear a bit and is much higher quality still than the replacement one I got off eBay. I hope this thing lasts forever, but I'm also looking forward to the day I can replace it with something easier to repair...

    One side doesn’t have the metal ratchety thing, and I just replaced mine through that side, on mine it was the left side. Is it just me?

      Not just you. Unsure if they all miss it on the left side or if I lost them.

    Sorry, a few questions since I'm not so good at understanding spoken English: should I remove both stoppers? Should I use a flat screwdriver to pry the stoppers? Where should I insert the screwdriver tip to avoid damages? Thanks

  • @Hanfgurkenhasser

    Got a replacement headband that was so garbage that it flatout refused to slot in properly. Sadly my old headband was so fucked that I couldn't get it back in either, so now I am sitting here, fuming, with shitty wide headphones that do not fit at all.
    Fuck this, getting a new pair of headphones. Sennheiser fucked up the longevity of their products by not providing proper support.

    This is another video on replacing the ear cup padding. I suggest you watch both SoundSpares and GetYo FactsStr8 videos before attempting any replacement.

    Anyone have any luck with the US part number (or a compatible part from a similar model). I hear the HD 280s are somewhat the same.

    Hey man. Ive been looking where to get the headband cushion and I haven't been able to find it. Do you got a link to the one you got?

    • @ALGH2101
      @ALGH2101 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blake Jackson unfortunately Sennheiser discontinued this part and used to be able available straight from their website. They have every other part for the headphones to replace but decided to discontinue this for some stupid reason. You might get lucky on eBay but other than that the next best thing is buying the shell for the headband from the sennheiser website for around 42 euros or $48 US. Good luck
