    Nice review! Thanks for showing how well the battery stays in the housing. Looks more secure then I expecting. I still wish to see a more secure system with maybe an o-ring seal in a future model.

    I thought this was an overpriced gimmick when it came out, but your review changed my mind and this seems like a useful device!
    I always carry a flashlight anyway, and if I need a backup power bank, I’ll just throw my Travel Card (the Plus version, when I get it in the mail) in my pocket and that’s enough to get me by. I’m also eager to receive the XTAR SC1 Plus to use as a power bank with all of the 18650 and 21700 batteries I carry in flashlights when I have a backpack. I don’t see myself using this survival light, but it might be a great gift for a friend!

      When I first received this product, I was skeptical I would find it useful. I now carry it in my car for emergency power.
      My father was once in a severe car accident off a rural highway. No one to get him for about 10 hours. The car was non-functional, and no electrical worked. His phone flew out the window and was lost as the car tumbled end over end (it was in a phone holder and flew out the smashed window). If this light had been in a glove compartment, he would have been able to flag down motorists (they passed him for hours until morning and he was seen)

      @@cheule Wow, that's an incredible story! I'm glad your father is alright. That makes me think about my phone flying out if I was in an accident. Luckily, I have an Apple Watch with the emergency SOS button, and my car has an emergency call button too. It's essential to prepare for those types of incidents, because that could be the difference between life and death.

      eBay years ago! I saw it in Simone else’s video and just searched the name of it.

    That light's raised button edges look like would dig in my leg while in my front pocket. It also looks like that edge would hang-up and easily pull apart while trying to get it out of my pocket. I'd buy it for the battery, cable and hook and throw the light in the trash.

      The button doesn’t stick up as much as it might appear in the video. Also, it’s a plastic button, so I don’t think you’ll have issues with tearing up your pants.

      @@cheule Maybe I wasn't clear. I was talking about the protruding switch's squared edge and corners, pushing against your leg uncomfortably while in your pants-pocket, like sometimes keys do when you sit down.
      I was also referring to the switch's squared off edges might grab and hang-up the pants-pocket when you try to pull it out and cause it to pull apart.

    Great review! This light is on sale for $16.99 right now on Amazon. What a deal! Any idea where compatible 18650s can be found? Would be nice to have a couple spares to go with this lantern. 18650s with USB-C charging + powerbank feature seem to be a rare bird, though.

    Is the version you tested their "cool" or "neutral" white? I presume the latter based on CCT, but seems it's unavailable on their site.

    Nice video, but I have a question, does anybody know if there is a ”regular” flashlight with 18650 battery, that also have a powerbank function? I have been looking for an edc light with that capability. I like the common ones, like fenix, nitecore and so on. But I cant find a flashlight with that function at the bigger manufacturers. 🤔

    I like that flashlight guys thinking a $30 light is expensive, while knife guys will think that a $300 folder is "fairly price" and watch idiot savants think a $3,000 time piece is "entry level" and "a bargain."

    • @cheule
      @cheule  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s definitely all relative! I know that I have several “edc” lights that are in the $2,000+ range. And I too have several custom knives that are $3,000.
