Awesome. Thought you'd been on some 'curious' mushrooms when you said, "Just 3 paints" ..... you weren't joking - tremendous stuff. Beg of you to keep the videos flowing for this game - I'm so excited about it.
Thank you for this video. Since preordering I'm in a waiting mode where I just exist till the boxes show up at my door and videos like yours help immensely 😅
I'm really impressed with what a difference adding a drybrush of Leadbelcher did to the tank. That's an amazing tip! Looking forward to seeing how you do World Eaters...
Nice, I play Ultras in 40k but I'm tempted to go with something bright like Imperial Fists for Legions. Your infantry guide looked good, so want to see how it scales up to tanks.
Looks gorgeous! The only thing I'd improve would be to deepen the shadows of the yellow a bit with a slightly yellow-brown oil wash. It's great as is, but the top parts with a marine on the hatch are even harder to read at that scale, so a little more definition of the yellow would make them pop more
The only reason I'm not getting into Legiones Imperialis is because it would make me spread too thin, but this video is making it even harder to avoid.
Very nice. I loved Epic back in the day and was keen to see how this went but I’m not convinced about the infantry sculpts. I’ve seen pics of then ‘under’ moulding on the two handed weapon men. What’s your view?
Very cool!!! Will you be doing the Auxilia too? Im thinking about splitting my starter with a friend and doing the guard😂. There is not a ton of inspiration online for Auxilia troopers
Thanks for this. I like the weathering on those really simple but very effective. Looks ace! I'm still on a quest to find a good Sons of Horus Contrast / Express / Speedpaint that will work at this scale as I can never get consistent results with Terradon Turquoise. May just stick to SoH green and the new nul oil wash.
Appreciate your video, going to copy your technique for my Blood Angels! Wanted to ask what are you using to attach the tanks and turrets to the base to paint? That seems like something I need to get!
My only painting criticism (please know I think they look amazing) would be to add a pin wash. They need more contrast especially the tank driver. I know you are going for quick and dirty here, but a careful recess shade would really make them pop.
I am tempted by this system, but part of me also wants to see if a new battlefleet gothic might be soon. If requests are available then ravenwing or basic terrain would be great. Thanks as ever
Very handy video. I'm kinda torn between Blood Angels and my original Imperial Fists. I see we only get Death Guard, Sons of Horus, Iron Hands and Imperial Fists on the transfer sheet, so might wait until we see some other legions done further down the road.
Looks amazing! Did you do anything to the yellow contrast paint before applying it? I'm trying contrast paints for the first time and have gone with Luxion Purple (as I've picked Emperor's Children for my Legion), but I keep getting a patchy appearance on my tanks, whether I thin the paint slightly or not.
I don't thin mine at all! Blotchiness is usually from dragging too little paint around, put on more than you think you need and take the excess off with a brush after it's covered all the surface. I have plenty of contrast paint videos, it might help watching some of the larger tank ones to see what i mean but maybe try that?
In terms of full scale, they are like Power Wheels tanks for the Legionaries’ kids to play with! (umm, if Space Marines had kids in the time of 30k, not sure about that one).
No problem calling it epic, GW officially call this Epic Scale™ so it’s correct! Beautiful work, I’m so excited for my core set, and your future videos. Regarding the turrets, looks like they can friction fit? Or will we need magnets for swapping?
Hi In your infantry video you said you sprayed them black and then white, why did you only spray the tanks white and not black then white? Just looking to understand the difference. 😊
So with the infantry I wanted a gradient so the white over the top wasn’t full coverage to leave room for shadows and the like with the tanks I want a solid block of yellow and then I weather and add detail after hence the silver drybrushe and that. Hope that makes sense.
And like all the crappy creators, you click baited with the whole '3 paints' You used 4. Jeez, I miss the days when people were just honest, and not pursuing revenue.....@@MediocreHobbies
Awesome dude, and damn it I'm now thinking of getting some Legion Imperialis....
Mwahahaha join us…
Thanks, great tutorial, slightly less daunted about tackling my boxed set when it arrives.
Sweet, exactly my intention! Glad you liked it!
Great job Andy, didn’t doubt for a min that you only used three paints, but was still interesting to see how they came together.
Cheers pal.
Really, really great! You are truely the master of Contrast Paints getting the best results possible with the least amount of effort necessary. KUDOS!
Aw cheers for that 🙌 glad you like the style!
These are wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing. I look forward to seeing more Legions Imperialis videos.
More coming very soon! Glad you’re enjoying them
Awesome. Thought you'd been on some 'curious' mushrooms when you said, "Just 3 paints" ..... you weren't joking - tremendous stuff. Beg of you to keep the videos flowing for this game - I'm so excited about it.
As long as people are watching I will be making them pal.
I have to say, I do love what happens to the yellow after leadbelcher gets painted on. Lovely work again!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for this video. Since preordering I'm in a waiting mode where I just exist till the boxes show up at my door and videos like yours help immensely 😅
Hahaha I know that feeling! Glad they’re helping!
They came out great! Congrats on being featured on Warhammer Community!
Cheers pal.
I'm really impressed with what a difference adding a drybrush of Leadbelcher did to the tank. That's an amazing tip! Looking forward to seeing how you do World Eaters...
Cheers pal. And yes it is a sneaky little tip.
Love it! Commenting to appease the algorithm, but I am going to try this for my Blood Angels!
I really appreciate that pal
Super good result! ✊
Thanks so much!
Thank you! Will give my tanks the same "treatment" tomorrow! ❤
Great to hear that!
Great result on the tanks! Awesome job Andy
Cheers Scroggie, always appreciate the comments 😊
Another great video. It’d be great to see a tank and infantry base for every legion.
That’s kind of the plan.
Perfect, I try it my self with your video
Cheers pal. Glad you liked it.
do you have prime only white? Or first black and then white?
I think you did a great job on the models! I like the blue for the plasma coils better than red or green. THanks for sharing this.
Thanks so much, really appreciate that!
Definitely would love to see how you do the various legions in a quick and easy scheme
Sweet, stay tuned!
Great video love the simplistic scheme I will be doing the same with mine once I can get my hands on some 🍻👍
Ye there great. You will have fun

Genius, more please 🙏
Yes sir
Epic is cool we know what u mean... Awesome videos...!!
Hahah thank god! Thanks man

Yeah fair point!
Nice work as always! I would need a second magnifier and new glasses for these tiny guys. :D
Hahaha if you can’t see the details, neither can your opponent 😂
The only reason I'm not getting into Legiones Imperialis is because it would make me spread too thin, but this video is making it even harder to avoid.
Yeah…it’s going to be a lot easier than people were thinking!
Very nice. I loved Epic back in the day and was keen to see how this went but I’m not convinced about the infantry sculpts. I’ve seen pics of then ‘under’ moulding on the two handed weapon men.
What’s your view?
Yes it is indeed an issue but my video released today is how I feel.
I have no interest in painting Epic myself , but watching you and others paint is incredible. Another great vid
Aw that’s really kind, thanks for watching!
Very cool!!! Will you be doing the Auxilia too? Im thinking about splitting my starter with a friend and doing the guard😂. There is not a ton of inspiration online for Auxilia troopers
Yes I will be for sure! Very excited for them myself!

I shall do a sons of Horus soon don’t worry.
Regarding transfers for the other legions, the other vehicle boxes like the Kratos and the rhinos have a transfer sheet with all 18 legions on it.
Just checked there. So so good thanks pal.
Appreciate your video, going to copy your technique for my Blood Angels! Wanted to ask what are you using to attach the tanks and turrets to the base to paint? That seems like something I need to get!
There the little part holders from Gw. You can find them on there website.
My only painting criticism (please know I think they look amazing) would be to add a pin wash. They need more contrast especially the tank driver. I know you are going for quick and dirty here, but a careful recess shade would really make them pop.
I agree 100%. And perhaps Something I come back to. But I’m going to be painting like 50 tanks for legion.
Epic vid....
Haha thanks man
Call it fuckin' EPIC until the cows 🐄 come home! Scream it like a WWAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! 🧌
Hahaha I will don’t worry.
I am tempted by this system, but part of me also wants to see if a new battlefleet gothic might be soon. If requests are available then ravenwing or basic terrain would be great. Thanks as ever
All the legions are on the way, will see what I’m doing with the scenery! I get you, it’s hard to know whether to jump in now or not!
What are you mounting the tanks on? The things shown at 4:14
Gamesworkshop little holders. Can’t remember what there called but there still available on there website.
Curious as why you went down the drybrush metal route rather than nuln oil for the tanks? Still looks great!!
It would give a totally different result so it’s just preference! I prefer the silver dry brush look but if you like nuln oil go for it! 🙌
This is so simple I love it. What contrast paint would you recommend for Sons of Horus armour?
Hang on for the tutorial, doing all the legions 😄
@@MediocreHobbies look forward to that, thank you 😊
Very handy video.
I'm kinda torn between Blood Angels and my original Imperial Fists. I see we only get Death Guard, Sons of Horus, Iron Hands and Imperial Fists on the transfer sheet, so might wait until we see some other legions done further down the road.
Turns out the individual tanks boxes come with all the legions so we’re good there. Learned that after the video.
@@MediocreHobbies Oh that's good to know, cheers!
Very cool!
Thanks 🙌

I heard day care was a big issue back then, so maybe not 😂

Ah glad I’m not going crazy. No friction will be enough I think.
Hi

Great video! Can you please make one for Alpha Legion?
I shall try find the time and get that done pal.
Alpharius like that :)
Which forces do you get the transfers for? My fingers are crossed for Emperor's Children
I was silly and didn’t check the box properly, all transfers for the legions are in there 😂
Please do some of the Solar Auxilia ! Leman russ’, Malcador or the Baneblade have so much potential for awsome paint-schemes
They’re coming don’t worry!
great job 😉.
Thanks 😁
When you use those sub assembly pins, do you screw a hole into the bottom of the tanks or do you have a less permanent technique?
Super glue! Just snaps off when you’re done
@@MediocreHobbiescheers thanks!
Turned out great with the minimal paints.
Traitor legion Iron Warriors? Imperial Fists vs Iron Warriors uwu ?
All the legions are on the way 😄
Please show us some sons of ultramar!
They’re on the way!
Aren't Superdry hoodies the best.😊
Right?!
thanks for this man, makes the painting seem barrable
You’re welcome, glad it helped!
Ya us old school gamers under stand you mean epic cause it's the same scale as 40k epic
It’s actually larger now 😄
Now I know why it has been so delayed. They shipped to every content creator on TH-cam first.......
Well of course. You cracked the case. Appreciate the comment pal. It all helps.

@@yossarianreborn2904boo hoo, bud, so he used one extra paint, big deal! You so offended that you need to comment about his “dishonesty?” Grow up.
@@MediocreHobbiesfunny how he missed the issues with the first batch of miniatures.
@@Argoshfor the last time: there were no issues. Just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean they had a problem.
Be better.
Don‘t really like Legiones. Can‘t wait for other content. But a comment for the algorithm god 😅
Really appreciate that man, I promise other stuff is coming soon as well, so please stick around!
30K univers isn't ok for Epic.
No Xenos.
Astra is not a real thing.
Astartes Spam.
And they kill Aeronotica.
Without me.
Ye I get you. I would have preferred it set in 40K as well.
Its wrong scale Epic. That's what it is. But its still pretty cool. Even if my old Epic are stuck in their storage box.
It’s scaled up to tell the difference between the mark armour!
