I'm really enjoying your Legion Imperialis content. Its really helpful for a Warhammer nube like me! Can i request more base variants please. Nice one fella.
Definitely love the back to basics vibe of your videos. Often we can get caught up in making things look perfect, but this game will really let us focus on the bigger picture. Army wide painting vs characters/ squads is a very different approach and Epic should really embody that. I will likely be putting some fine texture on my bases here and there to represent rubble or something like that. Not sure though, since 5 tiny men to a base is super compact 😅!! Love the sponge method as well.
Cheers pal and yes extra details would look ace but space is for sure at a premium. I was thinking of a pile of rubble taking up the back half of a base for my assault marines and then having three models on top of that for the illusion of height.
Fantastic! I would love to see more ideas. Maybe a red/orange mars type base, or a blue/grey base (a little lighter than the one in the vid), or green (kind of a fungal or jungle covered planet).
I already did all my bases using your marble version from your infantry video, I love it. So easy to do, took about an hour to lazily do all the bases. That's when I discovered I had one extra 25mm base too lol. (Apparently having too many/too few is a common mistake in the core box...)
I do love a good basing video, I’d like to see a good marble base video. Maybe with a light marble and gold veins, or a dark marble with turquoise veins etc
Slightly outside your normal content, but I would love to see some content on converting bases to match the Imperialis sculpted designs. Many folks (myself included) have Titanicus or Aeronautica models without the new sculpted bases. And would love to see some ideas on how to base them to match the Imperialis ones since all the sculpted ones to order individually are completely sold out.
@@MediocreHobbies It would be really helpful, as I have a small titan legion and Xiphon Interceptors on sprue from Titanicus and Aeronautica that have been waiting for this project, but am unsure how to proceed to base them to match my Imperialis models. I can mount the flight stands of the Xiphons into 40mm bases easily enough, but not sure how to base those and the titan bases to match Imperialis bases. Lord only knows how long till the sculpted ones on the GW website come back into stock.
Loving the light grey base for my Blood Angels. I envision them fighting on the walls of the Imperial Palace against the Death Guard or Sons of Horus. Awesome tutorial, as usual. I am really enjoying the Legion Imperialis content. Would love to see more 30 content as well.
Oh that would look great with them! I have all the legions for heresy done already if you want to check them out some time too! Glad you’re enjoying the videos and always let me know if you have suggestions for more!
Honestly, love your videos at the moment! Personally I would love to see some variation bases, simple foliage kinda thing. I’m currently thinking a lighter grey for my Dark Angels myself
Finished a box of auxilia yesterday using your guide ( changed some colors around to match my traitor theme ). When's the vehicle video for the solar auxilia now 😅😅
Excellent video. While you might be right about the base colors for your Imperial Fist's, I think in the end you will be happy with the lighter tone as they will go with your board color choices. I am going for the 1st and 2nd color schemes for the board tiles. Could you do a buildings/terrain video?
Id love to see more of your ideas for basing. I'm also going with imperial fists as my 30K and 40K space marine armies are Fists or fist sucsessors. I think a slightly darker almost brownsandstone colour might be what I go with
This was a good video, very simple but sometimes the simplw ones help out a lot. I've only recently started to base my minis more seriously so these are some great ideas. I feel like "Trust the Process" needs to be on a shirt with how often you reassure us on how things will turn out but that's not a bad thing either:) If possible could you make a marble base? Unless that's what the grey base was supposed to look like it succeeded just was sure. Great video as always Andy :)
I can for sure do a marble base but it would be airbrushed. I tend to avoid airbrushing on the Chanel even though I own 6. As not everybody has access and I don’t want to diss appoint people.
@@MediocreHobbies thats perfectly fine. I think some lighter colors your grey sponged base looks similar to marble so an airbrush version wouldn't be bad at all :)
Good stuff! I tried the first way, but left a bit more black basecoat visible, thatt creates a nice sand on stone type of texture. Doing 40 bases took me less than an hour to do.
I'm conflicted, I am doing Astartes with Knights and Titans supporting, but my Legion is Word Bearers in Red and Black, so a light base would work well with those dark colors...same with the Titans form Legio Mortis. However, my Knights are House Malinax, which I think need a darker base to shine. Trying to figure out a good compromise that will fit with all three.
Yes and that is indeed an issue you will have to figure out. I’d say go for the one that will make most of the army pop. And a few knights in odd bases won’t matter that much.
So with those 3 bases and talking about color to help the army, which one would you pick for a world eaters. I was thinking your grey one scheme but the dark blue one did look awesome to me as well
Thank you so much for the reply. I’m gonna try your blue recipe and hope I don’t mess up my world eaters then. Thank you so much for all your videos and tutorials. You gave me a new passion on painting and creating again.
What color do you think would fit the world eaters white/blue? Maybe the darker 2nd base so that the models pop more? Or maybe it's better to camouflage the paint jobs with the sandy base especially since I bet the orange/yellow hue would pair well with the world eaters.
Awesome painting man love the bases and I mean think the free section is there so you provide updates and promos for people that might want to subscribe sort like posting to other social media sites saying new videos out subscribe today to see etc 🤷♂️
Would love to see some more basing techniques, especially adding some texture/flock. Also, when you attach stuff to the bases after they've been painted, do you just use super glue? I've had issues with glueing stuff to painted materials in the past where they fall off easy and tear paint with them. Any suggestions?
People confuse clean sometimes. The bristles can get stained. So you can’t get them back to white but as long as the bristles are soft and now. Are stuck together then I’d say it’s clean. I just sue brush soap.
The bases look great and the painting method looks quite easy to do. Thanks for sharing this.
Anytime pal.
I used the first technique (the Zandri Dust one, but with P3 instead), and I love it! Thanks for sharing this method, I'm so pleased by the result!
So happy to read that pal. Glad your happy.
Great video! Those bases look great and match the scale.
Cheers pal.
Nice one again, thank you very much!
Anytime pal.
Good vid. Always good to see the basics covered every so often. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
Will do pal.
My LI kit arrives tomorrow, these videos getting me so hyped!
Glad to hear pal.
Love these, I’m for sure doing a tan desert for my legions!
Great to hear pal.
I’d love to see a video with a texture over the top of all three of these. Great video!!
Ye I shall do that video next week I think.

Awesome video, going to try Blood Angels with the grey bases, looking forward the scheme out.
Cheers pal. They will look great on that.

Hahah since you typed this I have done it lol
Thank you!

Hahahah yes apparently. Glad they helped you pal.
Great videos, I'm definitely gonna be stealing some of these paint schemes for my models :) I'd love to see you do a snow base at this scale as well
Your not the first person to ask so ye so shall get it done.
I do love a good basing video, I’d like to see a good marble base video. Maybe with a light marble and gold veins, or a dark marble with turquoise veins etc
That’s possible i shall need to airbrush that one but it will be worth it.
I think the first one will be a nice, popping contrast for my Alpha Legion
Thanks!
Yes they’d really stand out on that!

Yes I’ve had a few requests for the natural bases so I’m gonna have to do it.
I would like to see a snow themed base in this scale.
I shall add it to the list.
Cheers Andy! For the algorithm
Cheers rite back pal

a texture one would be cool maybe like a ruined city or really nasty boggy trenches?
Not a bad idea at all.

I think the dark blue would contrast nicely with the white/light-blue of the world eaters
See the world eaters are quite pale so I’d avoid the grey and tan once. The blue would I think would make them pop really well.

@@davidsokoloski9518 that’s so kind pal. Thank you.
You mentioned that a rusty metal theme as good for Death Guard. What 3 colors would you suggest for this technique?
Rhinox hide ryza rust and leadbelcher.
What would you recommend for an Emperor's Children army? Or a different colour variation altogether?
The marble one would look great for them.
What color do you think would fit the world eaters white/blue? Maybe the darker 2nd base so that the models pop more? Or maybe it's better to camouflage the paint jobs with the sandy base especially since I bet the orange/yellow hue would pair well with the world eaters.
Ye I’d go darker.
So how are you mounting the models on the base once it's painted? Super glue? Won't that make a mess?
You’d need the tiniest dab of glue, it’s not going to make a mess
Awesome painting man love the bases and I mean think the free section is there so you provide updates and promos for people that might want to subscribe sort like posting to other social media sites saying new videos out subscribe today to see etc 🤷♂️
I’m guessing that was the intention. But it’s having such a negative effect on a lot of creators. It’s a shame.
I am one of those that will waste these nice bases by putting texture paint on them, as I want them to match the Titanicus models I already gave.
Absolutely nothing wrong with that pal. There will look ace. And not every battle takes place in a nice city so yours probably make more sense.
Would love to see some more basing techniques, especially adding some texture/flock. Also, when you attach stuff to the bases after they've been painted, do you just use super glue? Sounds good pal. And yes indeed just a drop of superglue.
do you have any tips for cleaning brushes like this? I find I really struggle to get it fully clean even with brush soap and plenty of work
