He was the starter for the tanking 76ers so obviously he put up numbers. He led ALL rookies in points, rebounds and assists. All cause every other rookie was terrible.

No .. Brian Shaw could SHOOT the ball from deep, and make them consistently. MCW had/has better handles but nowhere near the same shooting ability. That makes all the difference.

I would love to see a “stunted growth” on Joe Alexander. He was the 8th overall pick in the 2008 draft and had a busted two(2) year NBA career. Milwaukee didn’t even pick up his 3rd year option on his rookie contract. And he got cut from every other NBA team he got signed to after. But those WVU teams with him and Kevin Pittsnogle were super exciting. Kevin Pittsnogle is another player I’d like to see a video on. I think Joe Alexander was born in China but was Israeli(from what I remember). I know he went on to win acouple championships for Israeli in a Euroleague. Should be a interesting story.
I remember going to Sixers games during the days MCW played there. Tickets were dirt cheap. The Sixers basically gave up on him because he wasn't a star player who could turn the franchise around. Then MCW production and ability to stay healthy declined.
I would watch him in college and some games he would play like the best player in the ncaa and other games he would look average. With ups & downs like that I didn't expect a lot from him in the league
It took Jason Kidd a long time to become Jason Kidd. The dude couldn't shoot when he got into the league, and that includes free throws. It took Nash a long time to become Nash as well. But both of those dudes took the time to improve their game deficiencies to become HoFers
MCW is the greatest example of why counting stats mean very little without context. It's not about if you can average 20, it's about how you average it. Efficiency is the name of the game.
I'm a Suns' fan. I remember when he was drafted. He's an awful defender and a below average scorer. There are a boatload of backup guards with more talent than him.
