- Here I review the Exodus Knife and Tool Jackalope, aka the White River Knives Exodus 4. This is an amazingly handy little fixed blade and will be there when you need it.
Be sure to check out Exodus Knife and Tool here:

I have the white handle with red blade and red sheath hi viz
That’s an awesome combo
JACKALOPE for the win!
Love that knife..! I’m gonna have to look into that some more..! Thanks for the awesome review..!
They are awesome. Look into the website link for Exodus Knife and Tool I have in the description. He has some nicer models on there
Seems nice for fishing game and food prep
It is. I take mine to the lake with me all the time
@@thelasthuntsmanoutdoors what about White River M1 Backpacker? Seems nice choice for EDC.
@@Semeion7 it would. The Jackalope does as well and since it’s so narrow I carry it as a pocket knife fixed blade which is pretty cool.
This looks like it could be a one and done type knife. 4” blade, decent thickness. That and a hatchet might cover it all. What do you think?
It very well could. It just depends. This is a lighter use knife but if you have it paired with a hatchet or larger knife it’s good to go
I believe it was White River that made the Vietnam SOG blade ( remake ) ive been wanting something from White River
Idk about them but the exodus and the firecraft models are awesome
@@thelasthuntsmanoutdoors I really love that Firecraft !
@@GolfRemoEchoGolf2 the FC4 is awesome
They’re about to drop some Ursus 45s in 3v at dlt soon. Wish I didn’t just blow my knife budget. Think I’ll try to sell some stuff to make room for one of those. Btw I love my jackalope number 140
@@ShoahBiz the Jackalope is awesome. I’ve done that a lot of times. Sold knives to get another
I just got one and I love it, stonewashed bcm matte. I have to find my ulticlip 3 slim in storage for it. I’m curious though about yours, it looks like yours has a crescent 🌙 on the spine for ferro rods. Did you grind that on there or it was made that way?
So the white river specific ones do the XKT ones don’t
@@thelasthuntsmanoutdoors I’m sorry I’m confused, mine doesn’t have the notch but it does have the white river logo on it.
@@richroc7 so white river actually produces this same knife. I didn’t know this at the time.
The WRK version is called the Exodus 4, not the Jackalope, same knife overall but has a notch. The XK&T Jackalope doesn’t have a notch
@@thelasthuntsmanoutdoors how can I get in contact with you about custom scales for my jackalope? I think you’re the person Jacob told me that could possibly make them.
@@richroc7 it’s not me, it’s Lucas Carroll on his website or Instagram
Most of the alloy "super steels" like S35VN actually have quite a bit more carbon than 1095... So, it is a carbon steel. Enjoy!
All steels have carbon in them and S35VN is considered a SS not high carbon but it retains some of the qualities of high carbon steel due to the vanadium content in it hence the VN in its designation.
@@richroc7 Well, I'm not sure what you are trying to say. 1095 has rougly 1% carbon and S35VN has 1.4% carbon. So I guess call the alloy what you want, but it has more carbon.
@@saigudbai it’s possible that you don’t understand metallurgy in the way that you think you do. Just because it has a higher carbon content doesn’t mean that it’s not stainless steel and in fact it is a SS (a modern day super steel) due to the fact that it’s an alloy made up of different metals that offsets the way it reacts to air and moisture in contrast to 1095 which has less carbon content but will rust far faster and easier than S35VN.
In other words, yes it has a higher carbon content but it’s classified as a stainless steel and remember that stainless means it stains “less”, it doesn’t mean it’s impervious to the elements and doesn’t rust. Just about any steel will rust in the right conditions.
There is however a company that makes truly stain proof knives for boaters and the like. The company is called Boye Knives and they make them out of concendric (I’m not sure about that spelling) cobalt. Look up Boye Knives for further information about them.
@@richroc7 No problems here. I'm aware that steel alloys like S35VN are classified as stainless with the right ingredients. And that even though they are stainless, they do sometimes have higher amounts of different carbides than plain 1095 depending on the steel alloy in question. My favorite is CPM Magnacut. Dr. Larrin designed a beauty with that one. I'm also a fan of S30V, S35VN, 3V, and CruWear. I'm no expert on metallurgy by trade, I just learn from reading and using, and have been enjoying Larrins book.
I thought these were extinct
Haha they are still long time available on Exodus Knife and Tool
