You should make sure you also roll slowly (think 2-3 secs up and 2-3 secs down) and breathe (breathe in when going up and out when going down or vice versa) during it too I think that also helps

I just started foam rolling and the IT Band one hurts so bad. If I can't do the IT Band yet, what should I do?
Talk with a trainer or a therapist if you can. It's tough to give that type of specific.

Put one leg on the floor it will hurt less and then after a few weeks you can proceed on the harder version it worked for me

We would advise you to foam roll on select days as your stretching routine but everyday as your post workout stretching routine

Both, but if you only want to do it once, dynamic stretch routine before game, foam roll after.

Contrasting bath water, compression pant, stretching and massage are the main ones.
What do contrast showers do?
Help stimulate blood flow
How tight should compression pants be?
That you still have unrestricted full range of motion without the pants feeling loose.

Foam roll each muscle for 10 min?
Ah. Each muscle 30 secs to 2 mins usually works.

Exactly. They work. Not the most fun at times but the results (if done properly) are worth it.
