Static stretching is ok to do before a work out but it decreases performance because ur muscles will be too relaxed so do dynamic stretching first and then at the end of the workout, do static stretching
From muscles expanding and contracting during your regular day it’s important to keep a constant stretching routine to keep your muscles healthy. Also it’s good to stretch if your body is not at all warmed up.
Barketball just do like normal crossed arms stretching if you need(I forgot the name), you don't really need arms much but for me it's always the legs cramping
Can you make a video about if basketball shoes are important or not? Like the differences between a runner and a "basketball shoe" Idk Im confused about what to wear in my basketball practices
I'll add it to the list. Not sure when we'll get it produced though. Make sure you're subscribed and have notifications turned on so you'll be notified. - Joe @ TeamEGT
Jazz cheese I can help. Basketball shoes are important they provide ankle support, heel lockdown, cushion, breath ability, good court traction, and many more benefits. A runner is fine I guess for very very light basketball playing but if your serious you should invest in a pair of basketball shoes. Runners don’t have the same traction needed for cuts and explosiveness. They also have little to no ankle support and no heel lockdown and most don’t have any up cushion. It’s not safe to hoop in a runner trust me.
Man it sucks getting old. Been playing ball most of my life. Took a year break. Starting to get back on the court and my lower back seems to tighten up instantly causing all kinds of handicaps in my game. Will this help? Anything else you can recommend would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
George nikolos I have the exact same problem bro. I’m in my 30s and I always wake up with back pain or knee pain after a pick up game. It’s just part of getting old I quit a couple of times but now I use compression for my knees and play through it.
It's not as normal as you make it sound, but ageing is a part of it. I recommend going to a physiotherapist/looking up physio exercices for your current injury
My knees and waist been hurting. Its been 3 days, i play basketball every other day, i didnt stretch but i dont really put effort at start i just shoot around the paint. Is lack of stretching the reason?
When I do that 90 degree stretch for the groin ads hamstrings, my hip pops around and I also feel it in my lower back. Xray is "remarkable" Any suggestions?

On the first stretch I don't feel much stretch please tell me where and what you are supposed to feel a stretch. Right now when I do it my neck just hurts.

Hey coach what do you think of Active Isolated stretching? Also isn't it somewhat counter productive for basketball players to stretch before working on getting rid of trigger points? Thanks
This is off topic but I’m doing a jump program for 12 weeks 3 days a week and I was asking do you think I should I lift on my legs and explosive workouts on my legs during my rest days 2 days per week?
Coach reply as soon as you can.In the description you said I can do these exercises several times a week.Actually how many times? Can I practice 6 days a week?
Hey I’m having trouble doing stretches where my leg has to go back, like that pretzel stretch. What do I do to make it possible to do these? Even doing standing stretches where you can’t kick your leg back, I can’t do
I appreciate how you just go through the stretches quickly without any bs

same, I always get teased for the stretches I do pre game and before practice. They think I am yogi weirdo or something.
Same homie I get the same thing
You can mock them when they pull a hamstring and you don’t 😂
After tearing my hamstring last year. These stretches have really helped me before playing my basketball games thanks.
Thank you! Started playing again and I needed this to save my back
Static stretching is ok to do before a work out but it decreases performance because ur muscles will be too relaxed so do dynamic stretching first and then at the end of the workout, do static stretching
Can U differentiate the two?
Mark so i got tryouts and i just did these stretches and now i dont feel like movin gn
Static stretching is basically doing stretches that don’t involve a lot of movement dynamic is the opposite
Thanks! I be doing this video first then static stretching!
i do dynamic stretches first but follow it with static stretching before the work-out
Been watching this before practice and games and I can already see the improvement
Agree with you on this again! Thanks for the video
