I recently saw Dave Grohl talking about laughing with Kurt Cobain about a tape he got from a vocal coach. There is a wide range of pedagogy in vocal teaching. There are a lot of gimmicks too. The way resonance is related vowels and the nasal pharynx has been a big insight for me, but I am learning how to master those possibilities by singing alot of different material. Trying to learn about every possibility of our voices, safely but not without taking risks, is potentially very fruitful. Every singer is essentially playing a role. It may seem natural to them but it is hardly one line in a plain compared to the full spectrum of what their voice could do. The most amazing instrument ever created, in my opinion, the human voice.
😂😂😂 At 4:20, "It's coming out the wrong hole" 😂😂 oh god I'm pooping myself laughing 😂😂😂 You're so transparent dude, unlike others making everything mysterious and complicated.
Hi, I wound up here from some random TH-cam clickage. The clicky monster. LoL. Now, I saw Journey in 1979. I was ten feet in front of Steve Perry. Wow, the power. I used to get free tickets to the opera and the same thing. Wow, the power. I loved how the opera singers would look at me sometimes and sing directly to me as if in a conversation with me. Steve Perry did the same thing. Anyway, just by luck I happened across the below video a few nights ago and notice Steve Perry singing to this girl. At one point you can see his gut and the way he uses it when he sings the word or phrase "hes squeezing" around 1;45 in the video. Youth helps out here. Its quite amazing. Also, hes got a tight shirt on and I bet he even does that on purpose to help with gut control. Maybe. When I was a kid and sang in rock bands I would wear a tight tank top. It would keep me conscience of my abdomen. Have a look at the old Journey video. Also, look at the girls face. I think she is drooling a little bit she is so smitten. Its cute. th-cam.com/video/AcvFvdHErEA/w-d-xo.html oh yes, the song drive by incubus. hes got no shirt on and you can see gut control. th-cam.com/video/fgT9zGkiLig/w-d-xo.html Good luck and God bless.
Wow, cool! thanks for stopping by and sharing the videos! The Journey was so cool! 01:53 Mic moves away from his mouth (he's miming) This would not be uncommon on TV shows, and often bands weren't ALLOWED to perform the song live! Incubus was a performance video (so the effect of gut would be lessened as not necessary since he was not 'actually' singing) but yes, indeed it's visible. I've done videos on this, because it's something cool you can clearly see in the big stars' live (topless) performances.
Wow, the honesty here is so refreshing! It’s true-vocal coaching only works if you're willing to put in the effort. 🙌🎤
You are really a great trainer
Thank you - I appreciate your feedback! 😊🙏
