    Exactly what a pedal demo should be. On and off comparisons (multiple times) with each sound sample. Very easy to hear what the pedal was doing. The pedal itself seems extremely usable in terms of the frequency choices you made. Reasonably priced...I'm sold...just ordered one.

      Thanks Andrew! That means a lot. Jeff and I definitely wanted a demo that would show what the average professional working basis would be using this for. It certainly has the flexibility to get crazy but there are so many useful tones in this little box. Not to mention the functionality. So I came up with grooves that I thought I might be playing while using this pedal!

    This is awesome! I love my regular zio and currently use it on guitar and bass so this will be a great companion.

    Awesome preamp pedal 😎🤘🏻🎸 nice clean tones and the grit sounded pretty cool. I’m thinking about getting one since I’m in the market for a new preamp pedal.

    Kudos to the bass player for actually demonstrating the pedal instead of trying to show off his shredding abilities like so many other demo artists do. This demo was the best I've seen in recent times. The pedal is obviously meant for the real world of playing. Extremely functional and useful. I would love to own one.

      Thanks so much!! @spankdaplank7774. The goal going in was definitely to make this a practical demo. I use this pedal and I understand how it might serve me and many of my peers. players. Thnx!

    Hi! My friend, I want to see a video about the combination of SOURCE AUDIO C4 and Hot Hand 3. I am very interested in this combination.

    Keep it coming! Hopefully you fix the presets in the neuro app soon for the atlas because i love that pedal.

    Any chance you could 'turn up' the percussion track? I could almost hear the pedal you are trying to demonstrate.

      We just added a bunch of sound clips to the ZIO Analog Bass Preamp + DI webpage. None of the website clips include the drum track. Hope this helps. Here is the link - www.sourceaudio.net/zio-analog-bass-preamp-di.html

      I think that's a problem with almost all demonstrations of bass equipment. The drum samples are almost always much too loud. It's great if you occasionally fade out the drum track to hear the pure bass sound, but few people do that.

    Can this be run on phantom power? Or 9V only?

    • @MinionRocks
      @MinionRocks 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nevermind. I answered my own question. This pedal will NOT run off phantom power. It only runs off a 9V DC power supply. Perhaps current draw exceeds the limit of what typical phantom power can supply. The XLR direct output does include zener diodes to protect it from desk-supplied phantom power. This is likely necessary to prevent the 9V pedal power supply, and any potential phantom power from the desk, from seeing each other. Were the 9V supply and a mixer-provided 48V supply to encounter each other, bad things would happen. Plus, with the internal circuitry designed to run on 9V DC, 48 VDC would release the magic smoke from those beautiful Burr Brown op-amps inside.
      Still it would be really nice to include a dip switch internally, in the power supply circuit, to be able to switch between 9V or 48V phantom power options. An LED power mode indicator would be a nice companion to this (currently nonexistent) switch. Then you'd have audio engineers just as interested in purchasing this pedal as bassists, of which I am both. Kudos on the pedal. It looks and sounds very nice.

    Beautiful tones and look. But one thing I never understand is when people call low mids mud (referring the scoop switch). Yes there can be too much low mids. But those are the also the frequencies which makes bass sing and standout in real band situations. Sub lows are the real mud and it's great that they added HPF to this pedal.
    Great example is right at 4 min when he slaps. Yes it sounds bit sweeter and "clearer" when you play alone. But soon as you go to play with real band you just might get buried with that kind of tone.

    Why would you have an adjustment that you use a Screwdriver on… especially at this price… this is sooo STUPID…
