The problem is, COD will always be popular because it's a safe haven for bad players. They'll try to play real games, get smoked, then go back to COD cuz they think that's the game that they're "good" at. It's crazy, I played Xdefiant for 5-6 hours straight last night. I haven't been able to do that with cod for years.
I dont know bout u but for me its the opposite I can littlery play for 6 hours i guess im built different for these cods since cod 4 man .
It is what it is some matches are bad but theres custom game v.s bots amd friends and zombies for a reason and to me thats where I usually go if im not feeling a lobbies im playing .
Heck warzone had it own modes like MP type modes but on bigger scale maps that i sunk hours into so once again im built different. But thats also due to the fact i has tons of games and cod games install on my pc and ps4 and 5 so I never actually get burnt out and still.easily complete seasonal challenges and battle passes for rare weapons and camouflage .
If black ops gulf war was out theres no doubt i will enjoy that as well . if im.not mistaking when it comes to slegehammer games they usually have permanent double exp after the cycle of there games so its gonna be hella interesting grinding that game and grinding gulf war

@@wardswagg I just find it tiring to be a solo player that a few pegs above average and play a game while being aware that your bad experiences are mainly becuase of the teammates that i'm being placed with. To then realize that the game is purposely putting them on my team as a throttle to my experience and limit how well I can preform. It's just a mental block that really bothers me, the inorganic experience of it all. It's a stigma that follows me from match to match and even when I get an easier lobby and I stomp everyone I don't feel like I earned it. It feels like the game just threw me an idiot lobby so I don't rage off.

As a M&k player. Being able to see what I am shooting at and not a ton of vfx on my screen is awesome.
Yeah, that's actually nice compared to the blurry AA mess that is COD. What sucks tho is that i can't properly set my sensitivity because i'm on 3200 DPI. My sens is somewhere right in the middle between 2 and 3 and there's no decimals (classic Ubisoft) so nothing feels right. With R6 you could at least edit the config files but there seems no way to do that with this game.

Correction about ranked. There is no sbmm in ranked. You match players in your current ranked level. Apex legends made that mistake and reverted it. Good players were getting stuck in the low ranks while playing nothing but the top players. Meanwhile bots were playing bots leveling at the same rate.
Incorrect. There is no SBMM in Xdefiant public matches from level 25+. There will be sbmm in ranked. Don't know where you got that info that there won't be.

The Finals had (maybe still have?) sbmm in ranked and if you went on a streak you'd get matched with platinums+ as a silver lol
CoD and VALORANT has hidden mmr which makes the ranked mode almost unplayablem
also unranked doesn’t have sbmm either and you can really feel it, love the fact you can do very well in a game and not worry about having to sweat your bollocks off for the next game

When it is a free game that has been hyped up for so long there is going to be server issues purely due to how much Internet traffic will be there on launch. It will happen with GTA VI, I promise you that one because way more people are hyped about that game than even XDefiant.

Your thumbnail is pro level delusion. This game will change nothing. When the reality sets in with no sbmm the sweats will be crying when there is nothing but sweats to play with.
That's literally the exact opposite of what no sbmm does. If a game has no sbmm, then sweats will match with random skill levels. Noobs, other sweats, intermediates. Sbmm matches you with people your skill level, which takes the gun away from Sweats since it's only competitive and no casual gameplay for them.
To me the game is just as sweaty as cod every lobby I had there were people booty sliding, jump shotting soon as I spawn, in I’m dieing, I played form2’houea and never once experienced this casual, relaxing fps they promised because of no sbmm.

It won't. Hell I tried playing last night. After about 20 minutes I was done. Hit detection is horrible. Movement is clunky, like you'll mantel over something and your character will pause for a split second. Aiming feels floaty.
Yep, if my bullets weren’t pillows and I didn’t consistently go against booty sliding jump shotting with no accuracy penalty, maybe I’d still play it.

I used to turn aim assist off in CoD when I played on console and even at a LAN tournament, once. I mentioned it to some people watching our match and they sounded shocked but I didn't understand why.. I played a lot better with it off. Probably a totally different story with today's AA, I haven't used a controller for CoD since switching to PC.

Edit: Played for a couple of hours. Game is already dead. Full of DEI garbage and the weapons and attachments were implemented by people that know nothing about guns. There's literally, unjokingly, random murals of lesbians kissing on the walls. I noticed first on the movie studio map. It's 90% women and all of the male characters have their faces covered except for the Mexican dude. Obligatory woman with vitiligo like has been shoehorned into every recent game for some reason. There's actually like 3 white characters in the entire game lol. There's also zero momentum and everything feels incredibly stiff. Game is too slow. TTK is too inconsistent. I could keep going but I don't care anymore, follow Wildlight Entertainment to see what the people who made OG MW2 and the Titanfall series make next.
Sadly not wrong. But I hope we as the community can take a stand and say screw off when they do.

You guys say this shit about every game that comes out.
For the first time in 6 and half years my friends are having fun and having a good laugh. Instantly finding matches, but there are still some issues with the button delay and hit detection but so far I have not lagged once or got kicked out or my game crashing it’s actually a pretty decent game once you get the hang of it. Hot take: this feels more like a stable version of bo4

This game kind of makes me realise that CoD is lowkey genius, they have fundamentally babyproofed their game and now having a game with a TTK that isn't instant and a matchmaking system that might put you in a game where you get beat outright from better players makes a it "bad game". They knew that this was the case from the start and now the people those games catered to are coming out of the shadows, honestly I hope they stay on CoD so this game can have it's own playerbase that doesn't hate all change and complain 24/7 lol

Played the game for like 5 & half hours today & I gotta say: It's good. Not perfect, not a COD Killer (yet), but a solid game.
Few things they really need to change soon / quick:
-Netcode (it's exactly like the old IW-netcode... The same bad netcode haha xD)
-Weapon Unlocking
-Weapon, Player & Battle Pass leveling
-Add Free 4 All, TDM & S&D Modes
-Team Balancing
-Gun balancing (MPs & Shotty Buff)

If they fix these 3 things, I'm happy for now. Of course we need more content, but that's obvious, not gonna complain about this now cuz it's been only a few hours haha. So far we're having a blast. Obviously you can't play the game 24/7 - but if you just wanna blow off some steam, hop in with the bois & gals - it's the perfect game right now. Last good MP Cod was BO4 imo, so I feel the guys that say you can compare these 2. Or OW2.
It's a fun fast-pasted action arcade shooter. Will it kill COD? Not now. But if they keep fixing the problems, listen to the community & roll out some good updates every now & then, they will kill COD (for the MP part) for sure. I've played with 3 of my mates today, but most of the time only with my buddy. But I can imagine having a whole team would be so freakin fun!

Just stopped playing OW2 because of the atrocious eomm. Actually started playing OW2 recently because COD was so bad. It is pretty telling when a game has to implement punishment for people leaving quick play games. If your game is so bad that leaving in a casual mode has become a punishable offense, the game is the prob, not the players.
Am I doing something wrong because I swear I have to empty my whole clip and hit every single shot in order to get a kill but when I’m being shot at it’s like one bullet kills me instantly!!!
It's your aim, it takes perfect aim to get kills in this game. The hitboxes feel very small. Headshots are like 2 hitmarker kills, they're very fast. Body shots are only quick kills if you have perfect tracking.. The netcode isn't the best, either.

It’s feels fun to play with friends and even solo some matches are sweaty and some not and it’s a good balance that makes the game enjoyable, only thing that could just be a me problem is the hit detection and the ttk being inconsistent sometimes but overall had fun playing today
Just bc a game has more views then another game doesn't mean it destroyed that certain game. It's always like when new games come out give it a few weeks before the views goes down

It's wishful thinking, but hopefully we get more competition for CoD so they feel like they actually have to make a good game.

Mechanics/engine/movement feels semi clunky & outdated, , annoying abilities, little content,feels like a free to play that should have released in like 2016, it's not hard to be better than cod these days thats a low bar. I want to hope XDefiant will succeed and actually provide competition for CoD, but I have no faith that Ubisoft won't find a way to ruin XDefiant.
With my limited playtime i can say a couple things do feel, off?
Snipers are waaaaay too strong.
Smgs, pistols, and shotguns feel extremely underwhelming.
Echelon is annoying as hell.
But the biggest issue i have is that the time to kill vs time to die is awful, it is so inconsistent. I feel like i die in one hit, but it takes me like 10 shots to get a kill.
I know it just came out and its gonna be a bumpy ride, but i think those are the big issues

If u wanna make a chaoatic match wit bots and unlimited kill streaks or sniper only on all maps or full fledge search and destroy battles you can do that in Custom game wit no cheaters period if u buy cod just for online pvp muitiplayer ur doing it wrong it should always be campaign and then custom game and zombies and lastly muitiplayer pvp and warzone Thats getting ur money worth v.s just playing pvp because to be honest custom game can be just as fun as pvp and cam even help u build on unknown skills u probably didnt know u had in an actual pvp match trust me I been improved over the years thinks to custom match . imagine they took custom game out now thats a red flag if u ask me

This game is so much fun I've been playing all day! It has its flaws but they can be fixed in updates easily.
I know its only the "welcome playlist" but Mark Rubin said there is NO SBMM in the casual game, full stop. I was surprised to see this after that strong statement, but tbh, after one game I just went and played the normal playlists
honestly ive been playing other shooters than cod, and while i was SO EXTREMELY happy to try xdefiants full release, i played both betas, now thats its here imma be real its not as great as i made it out to be, i think it will do fine but its rather clunky in many ways that other games have fixed well enough (and cod has perfected movement and im now pampered with it) so idk if itll be something i play very much. hopefully as time goes on it will be sorted but the game just feels super young and still with a lot of creases to iron out

TH-camrs will run any games honeymoon phase for content whilst ignoring issues that plague it.
One thing I noticed from the jump is the matchmaking is EXTREMELY fast. Never matchmaking for more than 5 seconds.

Pretty slow for me personally on Xbox. Usually a a couple minute wait but I really don’t mind it. Gives you breathing room between matches
These “Cod killers” last for like a week. Outside of Halo or Battlefield no FPS can touch even the garbage that cod is now

Over a million players already my guy in one day people are loving this game I like old COD this game doesn’t have everything at launch but what new COD does they’re always terrible on launch and ask for money at least this game is free and no SBMM or EOMM my brain doesn’t hurt from playing a hour of it if a game is sweaty I exit out join another match and my game experience is back to normal on COD you play after a 3-4 games of playing good it’s CDL Championships you exit out of sweaty game and join a new match it’s no difference you get off the game completely come back tomorrow and join a game it’s the exact same or they’ll give you 1-2 good games next that 3rd and 4th game your connection ends up in Tahiti and Tokyo the game refuses to let you have fun

the hit detection needs major work. I was disappointed to see they still hadn't fixed that after about a year. Last August when I played I didn't recall the hit detection being so bad. it was the desync issues that were the problem
Man I just played my first game and I am SOLD. Played as a Splinter Cell character on a Far Cry map, smooth and consistent gunplay. Feels original but classic at the same time, don’t mess this up Ubisoft!

This game won't last more than a year maybe. BUT I'm hoping during it's life some change is brought to COD. IT'S GOOD TO HAVE SOME QUALITY COMPETITION IN THE FPS GENRE!
My biggest gripe with xDefiant is that I'd like to be able to change the color on my dot sight to Blue or Green since the enemies highlight red and the dot blends in. I've just started going back to iron sights and it solves the issue for me but yeah this game is great. I don't love the powers but this is something I can more than live with because the gameplay and matchmaking is just soooo good.
You're right about snipers. They are a bit overtuned. They probably need a nerf to flinch and to Aim movement walking speed but their hit boxes and damage is spot on in my opinion.
Give it 2 months... The SECOND everyone starts getting slightly decent, you'll have all the streamers calling it shit because they're not dropping 100 kill games anymore .... or until the cheaters swarm in in droves ruining it for everyone.... enjoy it while you can.
What about the Finals? Do you have any thoughts on that game? I feel it does monetization, communication from the devs, updates and quality really well, maybe even more than this game?
Definitely especially the customization it’s pretty decent in the finals. 10 dollars for one gun skin in this game is kinda insane but it’s free to play but so is the finals so
Im yet to win a single game in that sweat fest of a game. I thought games were supposed to be fun. I think its nuts i think dark souls and elden ring are more fun that fps shooters

Xdefiant although there are some things I like about it. It's not better than Call of Duty. The movement feels floaty like Overwatch and Halo and it doesn't even feel like you have any health whatsoever.
the cheaters are going to kill xdefiant. give it 3months. by the time BO6 comesout xdefiant will be suspiciously overran with cheaters. There's a few of them already in the game and you can look up people making videos demonstrating hacks since beta.

@@BlueSquareMemes both these statements are wrong. The bullets either don't register or just don't seem to hit what you're aiming at half the time unless you use a controller. And sniping imo is just way too easy. nearly impossible to win a gunfight against a sniper if you're not sniping. Even if you're right in the face cause they seem to 180 hipfire one shot you.

I am honestly surprised how much they have improved this game over the course of the server play test session. Also it is clear that there is no SBMM at all in public matches!!

As much as I hate cod ima have to disagree, i don’t think xdefiant really did much. Xdefiant will def have a lot of players but I don’t think it’s really a cod killer and more of a good competitor
I don’t look at it as a cod killer I just think it’s just another option if you tired of sbmm but still want to play a FPS game cod been out since ps2 and every year is a top 10 selling game every year so no FPS will ever over take / kill them tbh

Black Ops 4 was COD's attempt to rip off Overwatch and be a hero shooter. It was a ripoff but that doesn't mean it's bad; the Overwatch element is definitely here as well.

I got on around 1:30pm. Only got to play about 5 matches in an hour due to server issues so I got off. Hopped on again at 4:30pm and servers were fixed. Played a solid hour and a half. Game is fun. Feels like a modern day version of classic cod. Things already looking great for this game!

Ive been shouting this from the rooftops all day. 6 hours in and I feel even stronger that this is the game we needed. I uninstalled cod and OW2 last month and this is my new go-to 💯. Its so funny seeing all the cod simps get mad every time i mention "cod killer"
