.3 K/D here, 6+ years of no FPS games except the occasional couple hours every few months on halo, I'm slowly getting better. I manage a ton of assists, my problem is positioning and aim on KB+M, failing to win 1v2s, and not having the awareness for the speed the game plays at. Despite that, i try to average 1k objective score, 3k+ support score, and as much damage as i can while i learn. The most common team chat comments i get are "hard to win when someone isn't getting a positive K/D" 🤷
You k/d is mostly irrelevant in team objective based games. People just have brain rot from COD.
I quit looking at my k/d when mwii came out and was actually able to enjoy it for a little while again.

I'm just a man who enjoys doing kills since nobody cooperates with the objective in the casual playlist. Playing the objective only seems important on ranked playlists.
My reasoning is that I’m doing weapon challenges.

This is exactly what happened to the MMO community back in the early 2000s when WoW first released. Every current game changed as much as possible to BE WoW trying to emulate their numbers, and thusly did every one of them lose the playerbases they had already as they tried attracting a WoW-sized crowd instead of catering to their long-time supporters and paid subscribers already, and all in record time. We're talking an entire genre going from golden age to shet trying to emulate WoW's success in playerbase numbers within 1 single year. That's how badly these other companies were trying to copycat.
The only point I refute is that KDA and Objective playing are somehow exclusive and seperate. Its not. I constantly not only get top score, but I'm dropping 40-50 kills every match that doesn't have SBMM (the 4v4 trial competitive mode). If this game really is only about playing the objectives and sitting on them, then it is going to have a short life because it makes every faction other than Libertad and Phantoms basically useless at the moment. This is actually one of the things most likely to get patched very soon.
The problem isn't people not playing the objectives in my losses, its them literally not being able to survive for even a second doing anything. They don't survive, they don't get kills, AND they don't play objectives (meaning they are playing libertad or phantom, doesn't matter if you're on the objective as any other faction and not a killer, you're dead weight.
The game is going to have to figure out where it wants its "meta" to be, because right now, any smart people run 3 phantom 3 libertad or 2 phantom 2 libertad based on the mode and time their ults in pairs when objectives have to be taken. The idea of stealthy kill-heavy interceptors keeping people from being able to group up from spawns or other roles could potentially really flesh this meta out to make it dynamic, but right now we have nothing but shields and healers as effective roles and abilities, so that is what smart competitives will play.
This will, however, become a very stale and unbearably un-fun meta if this state persists, so expect the other factions and abilities to change or get massively buffed against shields/healing so it can be disrupted/taken over just as easily as they can be put up.
This is really interesting. Just a couple days ago everyone was complaining about echelon. One thing I have found though is if you don't have a perfect internet connection or ping over 50, you will get absolutely destroyed. When my ping is below 30 I seem to do much better, like over 1.5KD in non SBMM matches. Yesterday I tried playing on hotel internet, ping between 100-140 with the yellow and red connection icons going off. Got absolutely destroyed went like 0.4 to 0.6KD.

I've gone through bunches of builds comparing ttk, the guns are actually fairly balanced! If the ttk is lower, there's usually some downside. There's so many ways to configure guns too. Honestly nothing has actually bugged me except that spider thing 😂
Not gonna lie, seeing COD Players jump around in XDefiant and then get merked is the funniest thing I've seen in the game.

I completely agree that in general playing the objective is the best course of action. However if you're playing competitive, and have a player on your team that has particularly good aim compared to the rest (my group of friends that I play with has one that's and insanely good aimer), I would say it's definitely a smart idea to have this player NOT play the objective, but rather play a little bit further forward, to hinder the enemies from getting to the objective, by collecting kills, and slowing down the enemies.
That's just my way of thinking on it, but for the vast majority of cases playing the objective is the best.
EDIT: This also goes for a player that's particularly good at sniping. Wouldn't be the smartest play in my mind, to put your sniper on the objective, when he should be playing in obscure spots to try and nick someone off before they get too close, but it's the same idea as the aforementioned part.

I have noticed alot of little things changing In season 3 in COD and I think they are scared. They posted "Insights: statistically if you play with your saem team you will get a W" and I have noticed that its keeping me with the same people in ranked and they may he actually trying to match now. Its a little too late and I am looking to try Xdefiant.
I legit introduced a buddy to the game today. He decided to not play objective and went like 54-28. I was 35-32 with 35 assists and we lost, BECAUSE HE DIDN'T PLAY THE FUCKING OBJECTIVE (I was telling him to play the objective the entire game).He quit the game immediately after saying the game sucks. Modern COD is absolute cancer.

I will never forget this one game on Bad Company 2, where I played Medic for the whole game without even using my weapons. We won the game and I ended up first because of the ludicrous amount of healing and revives I did.

The sheer number of bots I get for teammates while playing XDefiant would make your head spin. I’ve never seen so many people actually need TDM because the idiots I get paired with never play OBJ.

Agreed 100%… My take is simple… “If you’re truly that damn good as you think you are, then you should be able to win and go off TOGETHER! End of story!” If you can’t, then I personally think you’re bad. Like who doesn’t play for the win? What competition ever??? I was playing last night and literally said I’m in a lobby full of COD kids (my team), it was so obvious! My entire team (besides the 1 person I was partied up with) were all on the outskirts of the map furthest away from the OBJ “trying to get kills” but instead getting absolutely ass blasted by the other team! So not only did they all go negative, but we lost the game like 750 to like 250. It was so sad and frustrating! Opening weekend it seemed almost everyone was playing OBJ, and now I’m seeing more lobbies with people ignoring the OBJ. I really don’t want the player base to adopt that shitty mindset!

I don't get this argument about "sweats" ruining games. I'm pretty sure most people's skills have just improved signifacantly over the years and the skill floor/ceiling is much higher than what it was. I know that actuall sweats will flame their teammates for not performing to what they want them to perform and that is obviously bad for modern games, but I doubt that's what people are talking about when they say "sweats" are a problem.
I havent played COD for a long time. The SBMM would screw me over. Putting me up against the sweats with crazy headsets and game sense.
They are probably mad they can't do cheesy drop shots since xdefiant adopted more of a Battlefield Bad Company approach to movement.

All of them were saying they want to “fight people their skill level” and I’m just like RANKED LITERALLY EXISTS FOR THIS REASON. But then they make up some excuse saying that they don’t want to “sweat”, ironic since that’s what we’ve been saying. They’re incredibly dishonest about what they want.
These “casuals” have no accountability despite literally being given the tools to curate their own experience (Practice and Ranked mode). The “casuals” just want others to take on the cost for their desire for instant gratification. It’s literally Sloth and Envy being rewarded.
Thats what I don't get. Why would people be happy running on a 50/50 treadmill. Its just straight up purgatory. No sense of improvement, no rank for your accomplishments. No real feeling of agency because every game is tailored to be as 50/50 as possible, so even if you absolutely go off the game will punish you for it after. I look at my friends list leaderboards and virtually everyone is within a small margin of 1.00 k/d. People who in the past would be rocking high k/ds and win rates.

Casual is supposed to be random and if you are a skilled player, odds are you will have more easy matches than hard ones just through sheer statistics.
@@baanfrey There are levels on how strong SBMM is. Ranked has very strict SBMM. Unranked should have slight SBMM (a lot less than COD), because it makes no sense matching me with players who start to learn FPS games. They won't learn anything, if the skill disparity is too big and I won't have fun, because it is obvious that they cannot shoot straight. Slight SBMM in unranked is imo better.

I have played Xdefiant a handful of times now and have enjoyed it for the team aspect- the simplicity and the “accomplish the mission” to win aspect of it is great.
I just started playing COD about 6 months ago, while I do play multiplayer here and there, I’ve basically stayed in DMZ because I like the team aspect.
I enjoy helping folks with missions, getting them looted up, and all that, and then battling other teams.
I’d personally love to see Xdefiant have a version of DMZ without the SBMM, I think it could be a lot of fun, and I think they could do it well.

XDefiant looks so much like how I would envision BO2 in a modern engine. Even the animations are not as ridiculously over expressed like post-MW2019 gun animations. I loved Hyper's videos back in the day but it is sad to see that with everyone now doing the jitter-tactical reload animations, straightforward animations look pleasing.

Bro I was saying this to my friend the other day. Some xdefiant maps have such a similar vibe to older cod maps. We were playing domination on Attica Heights, and I pointed out that it has the same vibe as Hijacked from BO2. There's a farcry 6 map which also reminds me of stuff like firing range from BO1. Fresh yet so familiar at the same time lol

People fail to realize that even Pro Players can make top 1% players look like bots due to the skill gap. Excellent players can make good players look easy so if you get no easy lobbies it's because you are not as good as you think you are.
Yes an actually good player in this is scary. Especially one who plays the objective. I played with one guy who had 106 kills 4 deaths and 16 assists and like 1000 objective score too. That dude was a demon and I'm glad I was on his team twice lol.

I was a top player in halo reach, dominated almost every match.
But the matches where I lost, the enemy made me look like an npc. But those kinds mkt matches only make you a better player

Something I found funny is that within the first few hours of gameplay (I think around level 5), the welcome playlist actually became more difficult than just playing the regular modes because of the sbmm giving me level 20s constantly 😂
pretty sure we’re similar in age bt, i’ll be 30 this year but everything in this video you nailed it. my first cod was probably the cod 2 demo on 360 lol but ive been a cod player for a bit. these days im more “washed” from getting maybe 10-15 hrs to play a week, and only dabble with cod/wz on rare occasions. however XD feels like everything ive wanted cod to be since bo4 and it actually gives me a feeling of wanting to play despite if my k/d performance is awful. this game rewards playing objectives and team play. i find myself at the top of the leaderboards most games regardless if i have a great game or bad game as far as kills tho, but like you said kills dont matter. this game plays differently and ive enjoyed that a ton, especially with the abilities. i never played a game where i focus objective points over kills ever and this game just feels so refreshing when it comes to all of that. this is the game bo4 should’ve been. truth be told it took a few hours of playtime to appreciate this game and understand this simply is NOT a cod clone but its own product. the people trying to change this game are cod players from the new era.

I stopped playing regularly after MW2019 (If we're talking about the Reboots.)
I lasted, maybe, like, 3 months into MWII
actually refunded it because it got so bad.
I stopped at bo4. And I kind of did sendoff to cod in that game because I grinded to prestige 10 and unlocked dark matter (gold for every weapon) which was literally the only time I had ever grinded that much of a single cod game and that was pretty much the last time I touched any call of duty game apart from the first (new) mw beta and buying bo3 on PC from a sale which I barely played because the mp was full of hackers. And it seemed like I made a good choice because bo4 seemed like it was amongst the last good cod games.
And now that Xdefiant is out it's pretty much been the only game I have played since it came out

I myself value my support points a little more than others, I usually end a game with a 2 kd 1,500 obj score and 2,500 support as well as 3000 damage. Is this a good average

Havent played mw3 since season 2 and now xdefiant brings back og cod vibes of a fun shooter to play. So strategic and yet it feels like an updated version of overwatch objective wise. Bro I bought MW3 with hopes it would be better than the last but after about a week or so, I threw in the towel and deleted it, just a waste of hard disk space
i had tried to play MW3 over and over in hopes that it'd "click" and id have fun, but once xdefiant came out and i started playing it, i no longer could see myself going back to COD as long as they keep updating xdefiant. xdefiant is a manifestation of what made older arcade shooters fun in the first place, and i love it for that.

@@Alphardus 100% not. I did the mistake with mw3 where many already jumped off cod saying they are full pricing a dlc. After playin multiplayer to 9500 sr in rankeds close to iri solo, I dropped it. Throughout the season the only killstreak didnt work for a week, hackers everywhere and they work in „banwaves“ which is once in 2 weeks? Shadowbanned players come back after 1. fool me once shame on me fool me twice shame on you. Ppl are rly celebrating the case Bo6 might be a bo2 rework lmao. Hopefully xdefiant drops the hammer on them and actually updates their game asap
I think Xdefiant should have a way of punishing players that don't play objective. Best I can think of is something like the r6 reputation system, where it reduces XP gain, rewards, bars you from playing ranked, ect if you're being an ass. Then it rewards productive players by giving them more Xp rewards the more they're a team player.
Does objective XP go towards weapon XP? I think it should if it doesn't. That would be a good incentive to PTFO
They would lose players in a instant and the game would die because that would be silly hence why that never happens lol
See only flaw to that is if one team spawn traps the other team. Preventing the spawn trapped team from getting to the objective would then suffer from not playing objective because they can’t move from spawn.
Sounds good, doesn't work. The reason why many don't play the objective is because it is easy to spawn traps a team. Especially with a low level lobby. It makes sense in the rank game but for the casual player, not everyone is there to play the objectives. Many only want to relax and get some quick fun by quick kills. Introducing TDM and FFA would solve the issue for these players. Currently there is no such mode, the closest is the hot shot mode.
The players who don't play the objective have existed way way before xdefiant, and there is no counter for that. And in many cases, people who go for kill can contribute to the objective mode. The reason people outcry this simply is due to the other team's better. I have seen many objective games where my team goes for kills and spawn traps the defend team and only me push the bot to the gate. We won by that, but again this tactic only works when the other team is worse than your team. In many games my team lost despite them trying to push the bot because the other team is better and push our team way back into the spawn where we can't push further than the 2nd gate.
It also comes down to the map design. Some maps are great for the defense team and some are great for the attack team. Combined with a small and short time on the objective, you can't expect people to communicate and push as a team when the nature of the game aims at a casual player. So don't be surprised in many matches people just go for kills instead of playing the objective.
So it is the nature of the game, of our human nature. There is no punishment that can help to promote people to play the objective.
Even games that are heavy emphasis on teamwork and tactics like SQUAD, many people still roaming for kills and don't have clues on the objective.
It is a game after all, and you can't expect people to play the way you play, just because the game mode focuses on it. Trying to force people to play a certain way is the same as SBMM, simply it doesn't work.
The only way that can help with this and minimise the issue is making a clan system, but playing with a party already exists in the game, it is similar and it helps, but it can't eliminate the issue.

Literally had a guy on my team end up with a 3.25 kid and I had a higher score for obj points. It's refreshing to see.

Yeah, but what you don't realise is that he was killing them more so you had the obj clear to capture. Its not rocket science. Dude thinks in a obj everyone needs to be on the cap point and do nothing else except the point. You need people around the point to stop the enemy.
Im an "old" call of duty player. I played it exclusively growing up. It turned into a predatory mess (consciously done IMO). Im all for this. Im going to try this game today and i wouldnt have known about it if it wasnt for you. I dont watch ANY cod content anymore. I dont feed into their weird machine. Im excited. SBMM is what happens when companies cater to normies. I started getting good at CoD and Halo and such when I kept getting my ass kicked in matches. I basically practiced, learned new tricks, new skills, new techniques to "GET GOOD"

I will say, especially for newer players, lots of kills doesn't necessarily equal good player. You can still find success by playing the objective, getting important picks and make good decisions. It just so happens that the better you get, the more kills you tend to have from match to match.
I know people say, "getting stomped is the only way to learn," but it doesn't have to be that way. If you're getting wrecked in a world without SBMM, you're allowed to leave the match. And if you're being wrecked consistently, seriously look into playing single player FPS games to help train your aim.
Also avoid jump and crouch spam. Hitbox displacement is a skill to learn but by going ham on your buttons, you tend to put your hitbox back into your opponent's crosshairs and ruining your aim more than anything.

Absolutely, and i played both often. People need to learn the little acronym we had in BC2: PTFO. You’d hear that on the mic at least 2-3 times a match, and we need to bring that back

When I first started playing xdefiant, I was immediately slapped with the reality that I should probably get good and get better. Although cod is a part of my childhood, I have to agree that it probably baby walked me, not realizing how "bad" I actually am lol. That's why in the recent update with TDM I don't play that mode (because I keep getting bodied + 80 ping because my internet sucks) and would rather play the other modes with objectives, because that's what I'm mainly trying to focus now. In the shooting part, I noticed that I'm getting slightly better, my aim is getting better (but still dogwater at best lol), my K/D is bad, more deaths than kills, but in time my kills are just about as many as my deaths.
The whole idea of getting many kills and few deaths or the whole killing streak thing is honestly becoming brain rot the more I realize it.

The difference in what people do in COD and XD is crazy. I was playing obj during MWIII free trial and someone trash talked me for playing obj saying "BRO IS PLAYING OBJ IN DOMINATION," and followed up by saying "If you REALLY want to play obj, how 'bout you buy the game and go play ranked." But yesterday, when I continued getting the AK gold on XD, my team gave me thumb ups for playing obj. This is what COD has come to. Sweating > winning. I mean with this EOMM, winning is just a punishment lol.

@@nocontextskits3348 for me I grinded for cold war zombies dark ether it was worth it to me but when I kinda grinded for cameos in mw2 2022 it was alright but I lost interest because it got too sweaty for me. I enjoyed it up until season 2 I started losing interest at the half way mark is when I dropped the game and play solo games and cod zombies overall.

I think dom is my game, i can hold b literally on arena, that movie studio and mayday. I stick inside the buildings on dumbo but even a shotgun main like myself will cap on dumbo. I got player of the game once and i felt invigorated, my double barrel was popping off and capped b whenever possible. I make it a point to b-line b after a or c and never give up on gettin b and keeping it.

Sbmm has a place, but… man, what if I want to know I’m getting better at this? What if I want to sometimes have a match where I get 35 kills? Or eventually be the stomper?
Tried DMZ again yesterday, the EOMM is so fucking blatant. AI spawn in out of nowhere when you have the advantage over trash players- just to give the shit player the edge. Major damage reduction when your at the advantage (2/3 of their team downed) giving the last man standing on the opposing team a huge buff, No enemy footstep sounds, just so much rigged baby sitting bullshit. So glad Xdefiant isnt following in suit and giving us a fair equal game.
70% of the people that kill me around corners in XDefiant have no footsteps..

Footstep sounds in COD differ between high level and new accounts, something you can test yourself and verify- High level accounts don’t get to hear player sounds/New players hear everything. Its adjusted constantly based on skill level. This is EOMM bullshit. Xdefiant doesn’t seem to do this as you want to infer… yet.

As someone who played BF3 on PS3 and had a 2.96 KDR and a 4.95 W/L ratio, getting kills was just as important in conquest. Slayers take tickets from the enemy team.
Lemmings who just mindlessly jump on flags and die aren't doing anything useful for their team except costing them tickets. I won many a game for my teams over the years playing that game by being a competent slayer while simultaneously playing objectives.
But of course there were useless slayers too with the bush Wookies who would sit on mountains a mile from anything useful and go 3-1 getting like 20 score per minute so its nuanced. Mainly just blindly playing objectives can be detrimental to your team and a lot of people missed that point back when I was playing.
This game has been a breath of fresh air for me. It's been amazing. I am not a 30-4 player with lots of killstreaks and the like. I have always been an Objective player. So with a game that rewards you for playing the objective, it's nice. I can go 15-20 but still win a game. I can run Deadsec and use my ultimate to win. Or play as Phantom and use my shield to block damage and help move my team up in escort missions and get to the next checkpoint. Or play as Libertad and lay down some healing. The possibilities are endless for each faction. It has been mentioned that when the game went live, the only playlist with SBMM is the Welcome Playlist but only until level 25 and in ranked matches. To all the Call of Duty players wanting additional features, I say go play Call of Duty if you desire that. Let those of us who want to play XDefiant as it was intended, have that opportunity. What is so difficult about that?
The thing about not having SBMM is you actually feel accomplished killing a sweat because not every single person on the other team plays the same exact way while on cod everyone plays like a sweat and theres not even a point in wanting to improve yourself because the better you get you just get put into sweatier lobbies
XDefiant has made me feel like the chains have been taken off. I haven't had this much fun in an FPS in a long time and I don't like respawn. When they add search and destroy it's game over! Just remove the fucking spider drone! 😂

I cant play xdefiant rn because the servers have been horrendously bad. Getting shot around every corner even though theres no enemy in sight, enemies shooting me even tho they are still in front of me while they are turned around and then slowly turning my way shooting at nothing but all of they're shots hit me, dont get me wrong, i love the game, i have 30 ping every match, and play at 120 fps 1440p, it feels smooth, and good. But i just hope they release the update that helps fix the dsync and server lag soon, because ive had a blast playing this game.
Ps, this just started happening to me. And i noticed when it doesn't happen, the game works how its supposed to. But hell, i dont wanna play and lose just because of the dsync and hit reg when the servers decide to shit themselves, ive even had my entire team kicked from a game because of the server issues and im the only one left, or im being told my buddy is the only one in the lobby still with the enemy team still having a full stack.
Another ps, i have a 3.6 win loss, and a 1.6 kd, so no one can come at me and say im bad at this game.
I play a lot of cod for about a decade now, but even so I always play the objective. Never tried Xdefiant but if I don’t gotta keep reminding half my team to hold down the point instead of trying to pop off for clips, I’ll give it a shot!
I'll be honest, I have found myself a victim to the forced addiction to call of duty. I always end up having an urge to come back to mw3 multiplayer, but I know i end up wanting to break everything I own. I keep telling myself XDefiant is better, and I force myself to open it, then have a much better time by a longshot. I hope this is a curable disease 😭
I’m really rooting for xDefiant. It’s really important for this game to do well. It has some flaws and I’m so willing to look past them lol. Matchmaking feels organic. I get into a game in 5-10 seconds when it would take 5min in mw3 because they’re desperately trying to quarantine me with clones of myself.
Majority of my games I have REALLY bad teammates who not only avoid the obj but also suck at getting kills lol I usually play the objective but sometimes I stand outside of the actual capture zone and let a teammate hold it while I catch enemies on an off angle so sometimes I dont get many point torwards obj for that reason. A lot of times if my team isn't even playing obj I wont either and we'll lose terribly lol. My win loss is only a 1.2 in this game but still WAY better than cod sbmm lobbies which is 0.41 LOL I don't have to carry my team as hard in this game.
They really need a TDM mode for the COD casuals. It would be easy to implement and hopefully keep a higher ratio of people that play objectives in objective modes.

I made the point on Reddit saying this game is hard for below average people: I have a .8 kd right now but my SPM is 500ish. I can still help my time with good ability usage and being the obj guy. It’s a team based shooter. That and I don’t have guns leveled up yet so I’m using base guns still so it’ll get “easier” as I invest into it
I have a 1.5KD in Xdefiant, but it feels like every game is vs different skill levels every time, sometimes I get wrecked, other times I get rewarded, and it’s truly refreshing to not be sweating every match bc everyone else is also at 1.5kd it’s a healthy mix and has kept me going longer than the last cod I played, which was like 5 years ago

I had a game where the enemy team were mostly sat in their spawn on Mayday with snipers. They had like 2 teammates actually trying to capture B flag. Felt bad for the 2 people actually trying to win. It was basically a free win for us.
