1st generation Hayabusa Crankshaft difference

This video tries to highlight the difference between 1st generation Hayabusa (1999-2007) crankshaft design difference in regards to installation of starter clutch gear. Fellow 'busa owners beware, when you get a replacement crank, this could happen to you too.

so is the clutch gear the only difference? I have an 01. I am putting an 08 crankshaft. I'm trying to figure out all that is needed as far as the starter/starter clutch before we tear it down.

+Diego Carlos As far as I remember 08 is the next generation. So I can't speak for that. But for me starter clutch gear was the only problem. Good luck!
