In my humble opinion...one of the greatest blues-influenced electric guitar players of our time!! His music then never got much radon time as he said..they did nit even KNOW. how to categorize it. Well, enough said Robin...cause YOU were unique!! Love your SOUND!!
I've now seen Paul Rogers (of Free and Bad Company) play/ sing with every major guitar player left around today (on yourtube), with one exception .....Robin Trower. I was thinking what kind of a sound a band would have with Robin Trower and Paul Rogers : James Dewar and Paul Kossoff were both awesome. James' soulful voice seems very sympatico with P. Rogers voice on songs like Wishing Well and Heartbreaker. Wouldn't you like to hear Trower's take on playing those two gems from Free's catalog and wouldn't it be interesting to hear P. Rogers attempt some of Trower's repertoire ? That would seem much more compatible than Rogers and Queen (to me). I can almost hear Rogers doing "Daydream". Just seems that after Trower lost Dewar and Rogers lost Kossoff it would seem a logical match. It would seem almost impossible that Trower and P. Rogers haven't run into each other somewhere along the line and contemplated this possibility. Do they not like each other ; never met ; something else .........? Does anyone know ? Robin has played with a lot of singers that didn't really match up to his own talent (Except Dewar). As much as I like Jack Bruce that didn't really work ; I don't really know if it was the songs they did or what it just didn't seem like a good fit and it wasn't as it didn't last. Set List I'd like to see Rogers and Trower do live in concert: The Fool and Me Either Bridge of Sighs or Day of the Eagle (two songs Trower almost has to play every time ; I'm saying ; pick one .......) Daydream Wishing Well A Little Bit of Sympathy Too Rollin' Stoned Heartbreaker I Can't Wait Much Longer (Maybe some kind of original collaboration song here) All Right Now (a very simple song : I'd like to hear Trower rip it up on this one which would mean adding considerably to the lead part) Lady Love Rock Me Baby or Further On Up the Road (or both)
Robin achieved all of his musical aspirations he is a true musician in every sense of The word

Top bloke.
I'm from Rayleigh in Essex and have had the pleasure of meeting him. Really lovely guy
Since the age of 8 I loved Trower's music and today I enjoy listening to him while making ammo and working on my firearms.
What a cool dude he was way back then!
