Robin Trower. One of the most talented, yet underrated, guitarists on the planet. Such a nice guy too. A great player live who has made a ton of music with a 3 piece power trio for decades. Superb talent!

It was summer of 1976. I was hitch hiking from Memphis to Atlanta. It had gotten dark on a lonely road somewhere in Alabama, and, a hippy in a van stopped. He lit up a joint and put on a 8 track tape. He asked me had i heard of Robin Trower. Of course i said no. It was, Bridge of sighes and i was absolutely blown away.
Well i made it to Atlanta i went to 🍑 peaches records got my first Robin Trower record it was live. I saw him at the Omni always a great show.
Thank You Robin Trower for being you. You have brought a lot of joy to my life.

Robin Trower and David Gilmour are the two guys who got me into playing guitar. His “Back It Up” album and David Gilmour‘s debut album had pictures of Fender guitars in them.

I was very depressed and seeing robin gave me great memories of my childhood. He was my hero growing up, I was such a lonely kid from moving so much I thought of him, James dewar and bill Lordan as my friends. Their music was what I lived for. Thank you for posting this, it brought tears of joy to my eyes.

Wow! Brother, I hope you are in a better place man.
I say listen to "In City Dreams," the entire album. Not sure if you have but Robin's guitar playing on that album is just so emotional. The way he bends the strings and plays just the right notes to make the song so unique. I remember at age 14 or 15 just staring at the pictures of the band from "Robin Trower LIVE!" James Dewar and Bill Lordan, and of course Robin. His guitar playing, songs, albums really spoke to me as well, I was a lonely kid myself and he's been there through thick and thin. ROCK ON MAN! Let us know how you are doing.

Robin Trower’s music is its own sound and genre to me. It’s really hard to mix any Trower album with another band’s album for continuity. Once you put on Trower, You only want to hear Trower. I was lucky enough to see him in the 70’s - amazing. ✌️

So glad I was fortunate enough to see Robin while he was still in Procol Harum. I was gutted when i read he had left the band but when I went out and bought Twice Removed I understood why he left. There was no way he could be kept satisfied within the confines of the band's music. I bought all Procol's albums and always wanted Robin to burst out in their tracks but he was always slightly subdued. He had to get out to really flourish.

I was introduced to Robin Trower by my friend back in the late 90s. He had some personal issues and gave up rock music. He gave me his rock record collection that included all of Robin Trower's albums up to 1988. He did have me make him a CD-R comp of all his favorite Trower songs, and through doing that comp, I fell in love with Trower's catalog on Chrysalis, GNP, and Atlantic. I think it's sad that all most people know is "Bridge Of Sighs", but there are treats on all of his albums, even the ones he did in the mid 80s. It's great that he's still making albums, and they still have that high quality.

Hello Robin. I saw you 3 time's in concert. The first time was in Eugene Oregon. At the i think it was the Hilton Hotel . Back in 1995 or 96. I can't remember. But it was the 3 of your best members. James' Dewar, an
Bill Lordan I l think he was the drummer . I was standing in front of Robin Trower by the left speaker. When Robin played Bridge of Sighs he noticed I was watching; every note he played so he stepped to the edge of the stage an played the whole song to me.

Well I feel very lucky to have met Albert King, and Robin didn't. 1990 Arkansas Blues Festival Little Rock, I was a stagehand and greeted his van when he pulled up. He got out and came right to me and showed me his amp and gear and I took it to the stage. A professional photographer just happened to catch a great shot of me talking to Albert, my favorite picture ever. What really blew my mind is he asked me to set up his stuff. So I set-up his amp and pulled out his flying V and the monitor guy asked me to sound check it. I actually played Albert King's flying V, and tuned it up. They announced Albert King in front of about 10,000 people, he comes on stage, picks up the guitar, I put the guitar strap on backwards for a right-handed player, ugh. It seemed to take forever for him to switch the guitar strap, I hid behind stuff. 23:14

For me you can't beat the warmth of Analog vs the sterility of Digital. Robin has been my favorite guitarist even over Jimi because Robin stays clean and is still here making music because of it. I own every album he's done and I'm very proud of my autographed Bridge Of Sighs and an autographed picture from the 20th Century Blues tour. I've seen him on his birthday at the old Crackers Club in Vegas and here in Salt Lake City. Very nice man.🎸

We are the same vintage Nick ‘59 like a good Strat.
. Rode my bike 8 miles each way after school (12 or 13 years old?) on a chilly windy fall day because I finally earned enough $ to buy Bridge of Sighs which was on the radio all summer.
I rode back carefully with that album in a paper bag holding it level between the brake handles to ward off the wind and eliminate the resistance.
It stayed on the turntable for days driving everyone to distraction…. Love that thing to this day, still have it in perfect condition.
Saw that 40th tour at BB Kings right up front. A good looking pair of girls got me backstage and I took a Swedish couple....( tourists who saw the Marquee earlier and wound up at my table.) with me.
Robin was epic, the tone could clobber á castle! Super nice he chatted a bit & headed back to the hotel to rest Like Jeff Beck (saw him last nite and this Friday next)
I dragged the girls, the bass player and drummer out in midtown for a long night. They invited me to the next night show out near my house in Jersey but I had a heavy schedule… Couldn’t make it, still regret that one.😇
I’m still mastering that tone. When it comes… it’s killer. Every next guitar I build comes closer….🎸🔥

How is Robin Trower not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? It's almost criminal. I always thought Robin Trower was/is just as a good as a guitarist as anyone else out there! Really. Legend!

Simply put, rrhof is a bad joke. He is in the "musicians musician" hall of Fame. That's all that really matters lol.

IMO, the R&R HOF is TONS more revered by the fans than by the musicians. The rock musicians who actually "buy into" the perceived honor of being "admitted?" They have SERIOUS personal issues, and should seek counselling.

Robin's absolute love of music is what comes through above all else. People throw the term 'living legend' around a lot but here is a real one right here. A real treat to hear him tell his stories thank you for posting this.
