so glad 'For Earth Below' might get a remix which, for me, is on a par with 'Bridge Of Sighs'.
Hi Sir Phil,
Thank you for this great interview. Yes it was a landmark and epic discovery in my youth and will be indulging in this new reappraisal.... magnificent reissue of this perfect recording.... classic is too underwhelming a description. A magnum opus for all age... and all periods of time. May you live 100 years Mr. Trower. Much deserved success in this reissue.
An amazing career and wonderful interview. Thanks Phil for another touch of our past!
Thanks so much for this terrific interview. Bridge of Sighs will always be one of the most perfect albums ever recorded! Robin is such a humble and honest person. It was great to hear how much he appreciated your compliments 😊
Thank you 🙏
Hadn't listened to Trower for quite a while (an unfortunate mistake on my part).
He doesn't get the coverage his music deserves, so well done Phil.
I just stuck on Long Misty Days (not on this album, obviously). What a marvellous song.
Great interview, thanks Phil, and thanks to Robin for such wonderful music.
Thank you for listening - Phil
Sir Robin Trower is my favourite guitarist . ✨🎸✨☮️ . Robin and Jimmy Dewar are gifted song writers . " I Can't Wait Much Longer . " I would like to see a DVD of Trower's live performances 4K . I would like to see Eric Clapton and Trower perform together on stage .
Robin never appeared on any stage or event with, or as a guest of Eric Clapton that I am aware of. Not sure why
Fantastic interview well done Phil thanks also to Mr trower on his insights on this monster of a LP --- ( Anthony - queens New York )
Thank you 🙏
A very enjoyable listen 😊😊😊
Thanks for listening
I saw the Victims of the fury tour in the Berkeley Community Theater. That’s where they filmed Jimi Plays Berkeley .
An amazing show for an eighteen year old guitar obsessed young man to witness..
Great interview, Phil!
Wow! Thank you 🙏
Informative interview. Great job, Phil. Rock on! 🎸
Thanks for listening
Most excellent! Many thanks. I'll be acquiring the CD version of the set for sure. Very interesting, Robin's mention of his focus on the melodic content of his soloing. That's why he is The Man
Great Rock vinil......🎸
Hi. This is great. I ordered BOS Deluxe and it was due two days ago, but release has been delayed until middle of June, bummer. I do have to give some information that counters Mr. Trower about 'no keyboards' on the albums. I went back and listened carefully to "Twice.." and "BOS" and there are keys on them both. I assume it is Matthew Fischer playing the organs, since he did produce both albums. For those who need it: On "Twice..." the songs with keys are: "I Can't Wait Much Longer; "Daydream" and unsure if "Ballerina" has keys. In the parts where things relax, Trower is playing triads in the background, maybe double tracked, and/or reinforced by reedy organ tones. On "BOS", the songs are "Bridge of Sighs", "The Fool and Me", and "About to Begin". All of these are mixed really low, so you need to listen. Most of the playing is used as pedal tones for the songs. I can't remember what I had for breakfast, but this stuff I know.
I knew it was keyboards! Thank you 🙏
Wonderful interview Phil!! Thank you!! Great questions from you and great responses from Robin.
Thank you 🙏
Great interview Phil Classic album Great to hear Robin talking about those times
Thank you - Phil
A wonderful interview with a hugely talented artist who came across as genuine and humble. From the days when guitarists each had they're own sound, before the days of over production, over amplification and under talent. (My opinion) Whilst there's the obvious Hendrix inspiration to robin's style I hear a lot of free in his music particularly like koss his ability to play to the feel of the song, ñever putting in more notes than are necessary. Not to mention James Dewer's soulful vocal delivery.
Great interview guys looking forward to getting my copy soon, saw Trower at the Reading Festival mid 70s he won over all the naysayers there and the crowd just rocked ,is it true as I heard somewhere Bridge Of Sighs refers to a name of Racing Horse that Robin was looking at in a newspaper and not the Famous Bridge in Venice .
Thanks for the interview. RT is one of my all-time favorites and Bridge of Sighs is one of the greatest albums of all time.
Thank you for listening - Phil :)
The "Fool and Me" has some Hammond organ on it.
All of the important questions Phil. The guitar facts and such. I was hoping to hear his take on the album cover whether it was a photo or art piece creation and the folks involved in its inception. I love this review the most so far. Intelligent and engaging!
There is a whole section in the booklet which is about the artwork by the artist themselves. Phil
Nice video😃👍
Love and play it 💦
