Cindy Thompson Thank you! I hope it helps. I used to hate doing water color paintings cause all the money that goes into framing them up for art shows.
I would, seal the diamond painting first, trim the edges, then paint the canvas where needed and all you do is glue it on and done. Less handling of the canvas too.
You certainly could. But I find that the sealant can crack if it is handled too much or when you bend it to spray the glue. So I wait till it dries or dont seal at all.
I paint the 4 outer sides and the top in about 1/2". Let it dry and on the canvas back, I put strips of the 3M double sided foam tape. Peel and put on the canvas

Hi, has anyone seen an hey Arnold painting anywhere? I use stretch canvases all the time, but I paint the boarders first. I’ll probably get paint on the drills.
HUmm.. I will have to look for hey Arnold. If your looking on china sites they wont call them by name. Just cartoon figures etc most of the time. But I will look around for one. I loved Hey Arnold! STOOP KID and the Russian always askin for a sandwich! LOL! My son can sound just like him!
Thank you so much!! You made this look so easy!! Question: When did you seal it? I missed it as to whether you sealed it before gluing it or at the end?? Thanks again.
I am on my IPad and cannot understand why TH-cam will not show my new comments at all. I had one from Carissa about her trying the gorilla glue and it was not sticking for her. It is repositionable for a few minutes in case you do not get it centered you can fix it before it is non removable. Make sure you have shook the can a good good while. IF that still doesn’t work, you may have a bad can. This can has been a good one so if they are not consistent please let us know in the comments. There are others, just make sure they are non yellowing and safe for photos etc.
Claudia Nay Hi Claudia, I take note of the Centimeters and figure out the inches of it. Some are not the exact same size so, I get the closest canvas that will match. Sometimes I have a bunch of extra on the edge. You can paint it or even hot glue some decor for a 3D affect! The canvases usually will say the Centimeters as well as the inch size that they are and that helps out a whole lot! Don’t worry if its a few inches larger than your canvas.
Thanks for asking, The stretched canvas is a 20 x 20 inch canvas. If I could not find one close enough I will go to the very next size. Now that I can find black prestretched canvases I don't have to paint before gluing it on.
Why would you paint it afterwords? Can you paint it before hand. Just asking because I shake sometimes. I can see me running over the diamond painting alot with the paint. I'm not that skilled
billiehiggins1 It is my own artwork. Oil on canvas. It is of the #1 horse on the carousel at Dollywood. The one that is named after Dolly. I painted it several years ago.
I have not started diamond painting but on Internet I see some look more sparkling than others. This one has nice glitter effect. Are they some special beads or do they all glitter like this? Edit : Also what size is this?
Suraj Arya Hi! Thank you for watching. Yes some seem to be a bit more shiny that others. I haven’t really noticed which sellers are more shiny and some more dull. That is a great question for me to try to take note of. I could go back and see if there is a certain seller that has the better diamonds on the ones I have already done. I hope you give it a try, it is soooo fun and relaxing. Have a great day!
I have seen it on other sites sometimes and it looked like they had fixed that jondice lol! So keep your eyes open for that but changing that would be a bit better.
It probably would be ok if you can find a stretched canvas that is exactly the outer edge of the actual painting image. Thats the issue. Some factories fudge on the actual inside image size by making the whole canvas a 30x40 which makes that inside a bit smaller. Can get aggravating so I always err on the larger size if its not exact.
I have some canvases. I used to paint a lot. I even have some that I just played with, which I’m going to use for my DP. Why not paint the canvas first, let it dry and then glue the DP? Then you don’t have to be as careful.
I was a picture framer for many years and was surprised by the way things were done, however the main thing that caught my eye was the hanging setup. The rings that are there for the wire were far too high, they should be a third of the way down the back of the picture ie if it measures 18", you measure down one third ie 6", just saying. Nice picture by the way.
@@sallymcdonald502 Can you order a canvas (the wood frame and canvas she's using) to order? I mean can you get them in a certain size to match the dp painting size you're working on?
@@dalpz205 If it is a standard size, then yes you can get them online. If not, then it would have to be made to fit, And in that case it would be best just to have the diamond painting stretched straight onto the wooden frame.
Some do paint before but the glue messed it up so they glue first. Some don’t have any problem painting first. I chose to spray half at a time since it was so hard to try to fix the positioning if one lays it down wrong with the whole thing sprayed first. That way I can control the positioning from moving as much and wont have to try to peel it up to fix it over and over if I get it wonky. There really isn’t a wrong way to do it with the canvas idea. It is very adaptable to each individual’s process. Thank you for watching! :)

So watch for that. www.aliexpress.com/item/32880768409.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dDZ1bgd
Did you use a sealant?
I did on my first couple but after that I haven't. I dont like how it takes the sparkle away. I used an art spray fixative sealant when I did.
If sealed good should be able to cut around the edge
That would be one way to cut the edges!
Nice job!!! I have some DPs that need framing so I will use your method! TFS!!
loveswine2 Your welcome!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Wow... gorgeous... great info on the sealer... I have been noticing that my sealant, Mod Podge Super Gloss seems to be dulling over time does yours?
Hi Tia, I have yet to notice a dulling over time. I hope it doesn’t. There are a few I have not sealed yet.
I’ve used this spray gloss sealer on ceramics that I’ve painted with acrylic paint and haven’t had any yellowing even after years of being out on display. It’s a really good sealer, in my opinion. ☺️
@@candicejackson7474 Hi Candace. What brand spray gloss sealer are you using.
@@melodyc4607 Hi Melody. I have used Plaid brand mostly.
Thank you, that helped a ton!!
You are very welcome!
After it was glued to the canvas and had dried.
Did you consider painting the edges first.
Mims Howse ok thank you
How do you find a canvass that is the exact size you need?
Claudia Nay Hi Claudia, I take note of the Centimeters and figure out the inches of it. Some are not the exact same size so, I get the closest canvas that will match. Sometimes I have a bunch of extra on the edge. You can paint it or even hot glue some decor for a 3D affect! The canvases usually will say the Centimeters as well as the inch size that they are and that helps out a whole lot! Don’t worry if its a few inches larger than your canvas.
What size is fhe canvas
Thanks for asking, The stretched canvas is a 20 x 20 inch canvas. If I could not find one close enough I will go to the very next size. Now that I can find black prestretched canvases I don't have to paint before gluing it on.
Did you seal this diamond painting?
No I haven’t. I am not really wanting to since I dont want to ruin the shine of the diamonds. But I eventually might have to.
Why would you paint it afterwords? Can you paint it before hand. Just asking because I shake sometimes. I can see me running over the diamond painting alot with the paint. I'm not that skilled
You sure can. I was just soooo excited to video it I realized that I should have before. LOL!
@@MimsHowse awesome thank you. ☺☺☺
I paint with the painting off. Then u could go up so far on the canvas, then lay it down.
What size is this canvas? i dont know if i missed the size in the video or not?
Hello Jamie, I do believe it is a 50x50 cm. :)
Great video. Thank you. Btw I love soup too! Eat it everyday as well! ;)
It's so good!
Would you be willing to share purchase information on the carousel horse behind you?
billiehiggins1 It is my own artwork. Oil on canvas. It is of the #1 horse on the carousel at Dollywood. The one that is named after Dolly. I painted it several years ago.
What type drill is this? Round or square?
Divyasri Rao Hello Divyasri, this is a square Diamond painting . :)
Hi,
The sparklest dp's I have found are Diamond.Dotz brand. Next to all my other dp's, there is a big difference.
@@horsesavvy8 ill grab some at Hobby Lobby to check em out! :)
Very nice Painting the bonus was those beautiful Babies.
`
Aww! Thank you!
Lovely thank you, but think I would of done the painting before,
I totally understand. I usually do, but I got ahead of myself. LOL. I love the canvases at Hobby Lobby that already are gessoed black.
I see the
Little girl looks a little orange. Maybe I can change my color to a more flesh color. Your DP looks beautiful.
I have seen it on other sites sometimes and it looked like they had fixed that jondice lol! So keep your eyes open for that but changing that would be a bit better.
Would be easy fold side to at and glue or staple gun
It probably would be ok if you can find a stretched canvas that is exactly the outer edge of the actual painting image. Thats the issue. Some factories fudge on the actual inside image size by making the whole canvas a 30x40 which makes that inside a bit smaller. Can get aggravating so I always err on the larger size if its not exact.
I love that picture. 💜💜
What is the size of your Girl Dessert Diamond Painting
I believe it is a 50 cm by 50
I have some canvases. I used to paint a lot. I even have some that I just played with, which I’m going to use for my DP. Why not paint the canvas first, let it dry and then glue the DP? Then you don’t have to be as careful.
Yep, I was just impatient LOL!
Your kiddos are so cute!!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for letting us know the official spot where the hangers go. I am self taught. :)
@@MimsHowse My pleasure
@@sallymcdonald502 Can you order a canvas (the wood frame and canvas she's using) to order? I mean can you get them in a certain size to match the dp painting size you're working on?
@@dalpz205 If it is a standard size, then yes you can get them online. If not, then it would have to be made to fit, And in that case it would be best just to have the diamond painting stretched straight onto the wooden frame.
@@sallymcdonald502 You mean wrap the painting around the edges. Sorry I'm not very familiar with framing. Will the frame shots do it for you?
This is beautiful
Thank you so much for sharing will definitely try this x
Bless you
I spay the back of the DP canvas.
I would either spray or paint the white canvas BEFORE applying the painting.
Sweet grandbabies
Thank you! I love my beebees!
I would paint the canvas first before pitting the picture on.
Yep. I should have. I got ahead of myself I was so excited to do the video! LOL! THis is my older one. I have since updated the process on a newer video.
You need to turn up your volume I can't here you ... I've done this and It really works..
Yep, this is a major older video when I just started out using my Ipad to record with. I hadn't gotten a camera yet. But I have done a newer version just recently on my channel to update that. Thank you for watching and taking your time to give me feedback! We love feedback! Makes us lots better!
I would paint my frame 1st. Then put my painting on. Just saying 😊
Yep, I agree. This was my first video of the process I do have another newer one.
