fun fact! In pokemon scarlet and violet, when its your birthday, if you catch a pokemon it will have a special mark called the destiny mark
Ah, dang it, so now I need to catch another new shiny Iron Valiant on my birthday just to get it with an awesome Mark like that?
…Screw it, I’m down, I’ll just need to stock up on Herbs to make sure I can make them with shiny power Level 3.
Edit: Just looked it up, and it’s a 1/10 chance for every single pokemon you catch on your birthday, so make sure to get a level 3 Title Power as well to get max chance of 1/7.2 in odds.

When the gen 4 pokemon message came up and Lucas said "I'm glad we're friends," it made me think that there were probably kids who played that game and saw that message on their birthday, and maybe it made them feel good because they didn't have any other friends. But Lucas was their friend, and he wished them a happy birthday
i wonder if this also happen in the remake?
And the other way around would be Dawn wishing you Happy Birthday!
The fact that when I was younger I actually had almost no friends 💀 especially who played Pokémon
I was one of those kids 🥲 it was def a heartwarming thing for sure and I always looked forward to my birthday because of it

What's really sweet about this is the idea that (though of course one doesn't necessarily mean the other), if you're lonely or down on your luck or whatever, video games are a pretty likely place someone would go to pass the time on their birthday. So, to then have the game do a little something special and say "I remembered and thank you for playing," is just so wholesome.
I initially thought it was a little macabre that Scarlet/Violet chose a Ghost-type to display on the screen for your birthday, but they probably just figured, "oh, it's got a candle on its head, it's appropriate for birthdays".

Years ago, I was playing Pokémon ORAS at my Birthday. I had a bad day and everyone forgot my Birthday. I was a little bit frustrated, so to cheer myself up, I played Pokémon.
As I entered the Pokémon-Center, the Screen was darken and the Music stopps. So I thought "Great, did my Game just crash right now?" and I pushed a Button... and then this surprise...
Everyone forgot me, but not Pokémon. I cried hard and wasn't able continue playing, but ... I don't know... I was very touched and thought it was beautiful. I loved it.
I know, it's just a silly script, but Thankyou. Just thank you. This little surprise saved my day.
Man, that was so touching.

When I was younger I was waiting for my father to pick me up in my Birthday present's place and to make time pass I played some Mario Party Island Tour, and a Toad said a message like "Happy Birthday! You thought I'd forget about it? It's knowing me bad! I wish you a fantastic day" or something and I smiled for the rest of the day
It's a bit sad when you know there are people who are real happy to know they have friends in the game to celebrate their birthday
Even though tomodachi life's birthday event is cringy, it still warms your heart.

also on other hand, for the Birthdays in Tomodachi Life. If your look a like Mii still has the the age-o-matic or the kid-o-matic effect and you turn 18, your look a like won't call you and they won't celebrate it (however they can still celebrate it via Mii News)
\this happened to me once because my Mii look a like got married and had the age o matic effect along with her husband (this happened in 2019, the look a like Mii was 16, i'm currently 19)

Is there a reason you didn’t include the birthday message that appears in the Pokémon centre for Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee and Pokémon Sword/Shield?
I cried when I heard the little birthday sounds in Pokémon Ultramoon because my family doesn't really celebrate my birthday with me since 3 year's and everytime I hear it is make me so happy that I cry and Ultramoon is also the Pokémon I spent the most time in it honestly made my last year's of my childhood so much better before turning 18

I Remeber seeing the squeak squad one when I was 9 and i nearly cried over it. I didnt have any friends to celebrate with so it was very special to me.
I randomly opened Kirby Squeak Squad and I got that message. That was a good suprise.
I remember the one in X actually freaking me out at first when the screen dimmed. I thought my 3DS was broken or I was about to be jumpscared by the ghost girl again.
I once read a story online about a man who had a birthday but no one said happy birthday to him. He then played Pokèmon and the Pokèmon center wishing him a happy birthday made him cry.
