I've always wanted, and still do, a sixth generation Camaro and was going to get a 2018 but when the 2019 came out and the exhaust had the pops and crackles, that sealed the deal for a 2019.😁 However, until your video I never knew that you could INDUCE the pops by YOUR OWN actions...I thought it was a RANDOM occurrence. I think you're the first TH-camr, who owns a Camaro, to discover this feature which you could induce yourself. Dude I just picked up my 2019 in Riverside Blue. I too am in love. Those crackles and pop bring me damn near climax. Got the 6 speed and I love it. Super car experience at lower prices.
I have a 2018 camaro SS with the NPP exhaust and can also make the car pop and crackle just like this in the same rpm range. It never gets old! So I think its the same across the board for all 6th gens with the NPP exhaust.
@@al151 the motor mapping has changed on of throttle, it still injects gas resulting in pops. There is a thread on a camaro forum about it. You can also make this on your 18 via obcd
You don't need to go fast. Mine will pop in 1st. Every morning there are 4 speed bumps. I scooch along in 2nd at 35kms and let off the gas and it pops as I wind down to 20kms. You don't have to over Rev but I think it's louder when you do...doesn't matter the gear. My take anyway.🚗

Hey o just got my 2019 Camaro LT 3.6L I know it’s not the V8 version but is there a way to make mine pop ? I have a magnaflow set up and intake, not done modifying it just yet but what I have so far !
The exhaust does differ in the different modes, you can also independently set the exhaust to either quiet, touring, sport, and track, or automatic to change with the modes. I have mine set at track mode for the exhaust all the time.
I had a 2016 ss a8 which did pop like crazy on stock NPP exhaust traded it for 2018 ss m6 and it doesn’t pop deleted both the secondary and primary cats and still doesn’t want to do it and i know that these cars do pop on stock npp . Any help would be greatly appreciated .
Yeah, Long tube headers no cats and 3" midsection is going to go in. Ill probably keep the stock dual mode mufflers in the rear to be able to quiet the car down if I need to!
@@JLSpeed ah gotcha thanks also question for the RPM why don't the V8s go up to 8k but the V6s do that is oddly surprising to me that the V8s dont have more RPM then 7k
I have 2017 2SS with the NPP and it does work, but make sure you are in 2nd gear and rev up to 2,5-3K and then let off. Sometimes it makes alot of crackles when the engines is cold, and sometimes after you've driven it hard for a while the crackles start coming back again. They can be really loud sometimes. And yes, it's extremely addicting :D
Intraframe i also just noticed that when doing 55-65 in drive and you just floor it and let the rpm jump up to around 5500 which on the 10 speeds is super quick and then let off it will hold the hearing around the 4K down to 3k tpms and it really pops! Doesn’t need to be in manual at all just cruise and floor it for a second and then let off! My gas mileage will definitely be taking a hit!

Alot of people are saying that the pops are even more noticable (or maybe easier to trigger) on the 2019 model. :) My car kinda (2017 2SS) pops whenever it's "in the mood". Sometimes its pretty low-key popping, and sometimes it goes full on AK-47 pops every single time. I just wish I could control when that happens. :/

No it will not hurt the engine. The pops are happening on the deceleration and what your hearing is just some of the fuel that didnt get burned in the cylinder finally burning in the exhaust.

I have the Dual exhaust (not quad) on my 2020 Camaro SS and it pops like crazy...the pops got even louder when I installed a Borla exhaust.

Sometimes I see 4 exhaust tips as opposed to two exhaust tips. Are they the same exhaust though?
Wesam kachouri the 4 tips are the npp exhaust and they have the valves the single tips normal exhaust
You can do it on non npp in Sport in between 3,000 to 2,500 My Camaro SS is a 2018.I love the sound it’s the sweet spot. I will get headers soon.
I keep mine in track mode for the exhaust and drive it in sport mode ... it sounds great but can’t wait for my corsa set up

al prob changed the tuning and had the injectors inject more fuel on decel

Also bought a 19' 2SS earlier this year; besides the handling I thought that the "S" track mode was louder than the "T" track mode...?

Zl1s are different they have slightly different tuning from factory during decell

i got a V6 2017 camero and i tried this with taking out the Exhaust flap fuse and its not popping or crackling
The v6 is different. This is more than likely only a v8 thing

What gear were you in?
Luis Salinas it doesn’t matter, you can do it in any gear as long as your rpm is around 3-4k
Straight pipe it and it will pop every single time you let off the gas, even in higher gears
