That's not bad. A shop not to far from me wants 5200 just to do longtubes (arh with highflow cats) e85 and a tune. I didn't even reply to their email.
Basically 2k for labor..those longtubes are about 2k. Tune and e85 about 1k max

Cameron Sweet thanks! And I honestly haven’t paid attention to it, but I was able to make a trip pint to San Antonio and still had left over e85 when I got there. I would think normal driving I’m still getting in the high teens low 20s mpg

I would love to go with something like that, but I would not want to get rid of my dual mode set up. Its the best of both worlds. The dyno video will show how good the stock axle back is.

Congrats!! Def. over 500 rwp for sure. My guess 535 - 545 depending on the dyno. Really looking forward to your quarter mile and trap speed. When you finally hit your goal of running 10’s, you should take it to circuit track and do some runs.

Not a cheap hobby for sure.. lol!! Paid $1700 for ls2 heads and lg g5x3 cam install on my ls1 GTO with base tune in Chicago. This was 5 years ago. The ls motors were easy to wrench on

Hey Jorge, did you ever end up doing a stall converter on this car and what came did you go with?
Never did a stall but it would have loved one. I had a stage 3 cam from pray performance
I want a cam but just cam no heads, but might as well do it since the motor is out.
ThatAlphaCamaro, Yes if you are already paying for the labor to do the heads and cam set up, it makes so much sense to just get the heads ported at the same time. The heads have to come off anyways to remove the dod lifters, so its not any extra labor to get that done.
Did they have to open your ac up during the install, why the recharge. love the channel btw. Just found your great channel👌
Yes, They did have to remove the ac lines. I believe they remove the whole radiator and condenser to install the cam. That is why it needed to get recharged. I know you can just bend the radiator out of the way, but Excessive just removes it to help with install.
@@JLSpeed this jus might b for cameras but my vette the motor and rad and condenser stayed put. Could b more space in the engine bay. Can't wait to see the diff at the strip and road track

Where did you buy the rear bumper/diffuser? I need that entire setup!
I got the rear diffuser from American Authority. Its their Zl1 style diffuser with the extra diffuser insert!
So you used stock oil for the H/C set up? Didn't upgrade oil at all?
No sir always used same 0-40w you only have to use different oil if you have your bottom end rebuilt and have different tolerances and then a builder can recommended the proper oil

Excessive had my car for 5 days which included new years day right in the middle, so they were able to do the work in about 3-4 working days.

Hey jorge question is that your oem heads you just got it ported or a different heads?
They are OEM heads that are ported, but i got them from GPI. Basically ordered the heads from GPI then returned my stock heads to them for a core charge

I see pray performance tuned your ss for you. How did they go about doing that? Was the car taken to them or was it electronically sent over
It was remote tuned I used hptuners to data log and sent him over the data he then set up the tune based on that it’s just like doing in person but it’s all email and you have to do part of the work.
@@JLSpeed ok I currently only have a intake and catback but eventually I’m wanting to do tsp 1 7/8’’ headers, x pipe, Dsx flex fuel, and then have it tuned by someone who knows there shit. Did the tune from pray really tie everything together and make good numbers in the end and how much was the tune? I live down by Galveston so pearland is like right there haha
@@CLEETUS_BMM yeah Brett at pray performance knows his stuff, his cars have proven to run some of the best times. My SS and ZL1 are proof. He’s in North Carolina though so only bet is remote tune. You would have to contact him to get all set up

@@CLEETUS_BMM his tuning service was 600 bucks, but I had to buy hptuners buy the credits and the wideband gauge for data logging. All in probably spent around 2k give or take for the remote tuning.

Jesus. It sounds like these mods are expensive. Even at 5k that's a lot. A supercharger always seems to be the best route if spending multiple thousands for power adders
just doing a supercharger only with nothing else will still be at minimum 7-8k and without any of the supporting stuff like a cam and other bolt ons, you are going to be limited to maybe 100 more hp. which is where you will be stuck.

It depends on the dyno, but i would say anywhere from 60-100hp
Does NPP still go quiet w the cam or it don’t make much of a difference
vlexlopez it still goes quiet and makes a huge difference, I was able to pick up the baby(9 month old) after the track and drive home with valves closed and he was asleep the whole ride home lol
Jorge Loves Speed I was thinking of getting rid of it and getting the mbrp axle back because ppl said that after a cam there really isn’t much of a difference with the valves closed compared to open
vlexlopez they are lying lol I love having the npp and being able to close and open the valves to be quiet or loud

It can be done for less, but I decided to do many upgrades like the ATI balancer, ARP deadbolts,ARP balancer bolt, and Trunion Kit. That right there is over 1300 dollars in extra costs
@@JLSpeed I actually did all that plus Johnson lifters minus the balancer but different platforms ls vs lt it does seem like a lot more work on the lt plus you had to do the DOD delete so that's bring the price up as well

Its a custom cam considered a stage 3 different cam designers will consider different specs different stages, I would just say ask your tuner for his advice.
Why a custom cam? What was the benefit or what? Since I’m planning on going with a vvt3 cam
Albert Garcia just better suited for the goals and rest of the mods. It helps make everything get optimized to work as best as they can.

Albert Garcia not sure what your are asking. But when I wanted a cam, I went to Pat G and told him all the mods the car has and was going to get such as the ported heads, Akon with future plans like possibly nitrous in the future and he was able to get me some thing that would work well with the current and future mods not currently on the car along with nitrous.
Albert Garcia any off the shelf cam is probably just as good, but I also wanted a cam directly spec’d by my tuner bc I know he will be familiar with it and be able to tune it properly aswell
Jorge's Vlog makes sense, I guess I’ll have to ask when I go about purchasing the cam kit. I do want a big cam lol kinda plain and simple. I guess headers that are coming soon, vvt3 cam kit, ported heads along with the upgraded trunion. Basically stop there.

Nito Martinez I didn’t want to do boost with the stock internals. If I ever do boost I don’t want to limit my build power wise bc of stock internals or fuel. I rather save up later and build a separate block and get the fuel upgrades to go with it and try and make over 900
Supercharged my 1le. For what I do with my car its over kill for now. I put the supercharger and headers on myself. I'm just under 7K in mods. Stock fuel system, conserative tune, has blown up yet. But if I raced as much as he does I would go his route.

@@1le_ant610 Yes, I really would love to do the supercharger, but I am just playing it safe. I rather slowly build another lt1 engine on the side that can handle boost and then when its ready, I can swap motors and just sell my stock LT1 to recover some of the money.

Mike StClair damn yeah I think normally the shop charges around 3200 for the job but I got the deal with Black Friday. I did end up paying more for upgrades like trunion kit and arp headbolts

@@kabobs__9436 for a 2010 camaro you need to get a dod delete and cam kit package if you have an automatic along with the stage 2 cam of your choice. I dont know if you neeed to upgrade the fuel pump if your just NA and on 93.
@@JLSpeed my car is stock besides a CAI and headers. Those were done by the previous owner so i dont know if its tuned or not. Also, what about like the pushrod length and all that because I went to texas speeds website and they have a few different options (sorry i dont know a lot about cams 😂)

Nah, closer to 550-560 with all this. Has headers and exhaust too. Enough at this stage to give a stock ZL a run. No put a low boost SC'r on it and bammm. 700 rwhp..

Yes that was the charge for the basic cam and dod delete package. That does not include the freon recharge, oil change, and other smaller things. You are probably looking at around 32-3500 all said and done with taxes
