Join us as we enjoy a 4-6ft day at the infamous SUPERSUCKS! Enjoy surfing and bodyboarding action!
It is a well known wave, with many making the journey to surf it, and score one of its potentially insane long barrels! Paul, the owner of Supersuck Hotel, said the longest recorded barrel ride was by a boogie, and enjoyed 33 seconds in the shade! Unfortunately we didnt get the perfect swell direction for that to happen, and with it always being crowded when over 4ft, and myself not being a super proficient barrel rider, didn't get any of the super hollow and fast ones, but still stoked to have been out and enjoyed some fun waves none the less!
We stayed at Maluk House, but frequented Supersuck Hotel for meals, entertainment and socialising with the legends we met there

I was riding a 41.5in Hubboards Sci-fine w/ crescent tail, and use Custom X blunt cut fins

Yeah its a mad wave, saw so many killer rides go down, and the sheer stoke of guys getting the barrel of the life makes for such an incredible atmosphere to be part of :)

I do love a good post rock track on surf vids! Yeah its not rideable at low tide! Best to catch it about an hour after high tide so the out going tide helps with the waves sucky character, you'll get a 2-3 hour window where its good then gets sketchy AF. I'm intermediate and it wasn't too bad, but I have a cooked knee so tend to take it a bit easier than I could.
No matter what the tide - It is definitely not for the lower skilled intermediate. Take off is super steep (made worse by the crowd pushing deeper).

Try and get hold of the Shark Island and Indo Challenge 2001. Massive Island and the sickest Supersuck i’ve seen. Add to that the soundtrack.

Never. i live in south africa but on my way to aus next month. ill be staying an hours drive from cronulla so will give it a shot when its flat or 1-2ft, nothing more. freaky beast that slab
In 2001, I was at the next door spot Scar Reef, and saw one day the No Friend's team surfing (Jeff Hubbard, Andre Botha, ...). Yes, it was really massive.

We went there one day during this trip, Scars wasn't looking so good, so we hit little bingin for some fun a frames and just 5 out, 1 was a super hungry brazo tho, this bloke was like a fucking fly buzzing around going for EVERYTHING, even waves I was already on haha. Had to call him off, then give him... the look... :p

Yeah fully! The best day had around 35 out, old matte who runs the SUper Suck hotel reckons the worst hes seen it was near on 70! Bloody mental! Crowds would be nice and light now tho...
Re: THE MUSIC: I should have done this ages ago but never even thought of it, heaps of you legends have been complementing the music used (except the tool who kept saying the drums are too LOAD😂(I hope you got rehab brother)), and why not its a bloody ripper of a track! Heres the youtube link to this very track on the bands channel, check out their other stuff, if you've watched a few of my vids you'll noticed I've used a few of their songs!
