Hey guys, today I go over which ECU I believe you should get for your specific application. Keep in mind I talk about RSXs in general, but both Hondata and Ktuner offer ECU's or refreshes for a variety of other Hondas. In short my overall opinion on the matter is that both are very good ecus, and both have their loyal fan bases, however, for some applications one is cheaper than the other and offers the basic same things in regards to tuning. Just got my ktuner newest version. Got an 06 type s ecu for $60 and ktuner for $430. Overall good deal, I’ll use it very soon.

The biggest advice I can give... pick the tuning option that your personal (favorite) tuner recommends. Why? Because at the end of the day if the tuner knows one or the other better, then that is what you should go with.
You won't pull more power with one over the other on the same tune.

my only downside with ktuner is the lack of support for MacOS. I have to run bootcamp to run it. Other than that i love ktuner

Can either of these two tuner reflash a 2002 base rsx so that a p420 code is permanently removed? I have no cat because I'm running a skunk2 mega power exhaust and a DC sports header. Changed the downstream o2 sensor with a Denso.
I believe Kpro is better at deleting these codes. But I would be lying if I told you I knew for sure
I have a 02 rsx type s what would you recommend because I know you said hondata which is kpro but I heard it takes a long time for them to send your ecu back and this is my daily driver so it can’t be down for a long time.

It will be much much cheaper to get a Ktuner man. Ktuner is also good for boost yes. But its all about personal preference

Having alot of trouble with my ktuner, i have 05-06 rsx, intake header exhaust rbc injectors, and when i give the car a little throttle it revs up but it breaks up, once i get off the throttle the rpms drop to like 400 then goes back up to normal, car is running rich and idles wierd,

Not true my son has hondata for his k20z1 in his 97hatch 05-06 harness and uses the same ecu in his 03 RSX type S.
That doesn’t make sense, you need a jumper harness to do an 02-04 ecu on a z1 harness

Ktuner does have applications for the RSX. I myself have a Ktuner ECU. Reflashes are also available!

What is KTuner? Can it be tuned?
KTuner is a flashed based system that changes and adds custom code to a newer ECUs. IT IS NOT A PIGGYBACK. The fuel, timing, cam angle, and many other settings to the ECU. KTuner is a programmable tuning solution based on the factory ECU.
What is a KTuner Swap ECU?
A Ktuner Swap ECU is a 05-06 ECU with factory maps and disabled immobilizer, emissions (For off-road use vehicles only), and most of the sensors you do not need for a swap car. The Swap ECU CAN be flashed/upgraded to an end user board (self tuning) or custom tuned by a dealer.
I have a 04 so I have to buy a kpro and harness?
No, for Kpro you need to buy a harness if you have 05-06. For ktuner you need a harness for 02-04.

Kpro
simply because on a Ktuner you are limited to many things that you arent on the Kpro
The Kpro you can customize freely whenever you want thats why they added bluetooth to the newer versions...because you can change how you want things to respond
on the Ktuner if you change sum things you wont be able to change other things whenever you want and thats why it also costs more SO GO KPRO

Every Car Channel As I said in the video, I got the cheapest Ktuner, Its the one thats not user end in the sense that I cant connect to it personally, but rather a certified ktuner retailer only. Thats the only major drawback. And I imagine the $700 ones you've been seeing are ones for 02-04 RSX since they have to add the adapter harness to the price. For 05-06 you dont need the harness with ktuner so its much much cheaper

I have a 03 RSX Type S, my problem is that the ECU is not reading the oxigen sensor feed and my car just keeps holding back every time the Vtech tries to activate. My question is if I get the v pro will it fix my problem?
Bad sensor maybe?
Check voltage...
Before getting an ecu you should probably check the sensor, or try to connect a diagnostic tool into the ob2 port and see if you see anything there

Ktuner is cheaper, both ecus have primarily the same features. Kpro V4 has phone connectivity though
Some advice I'll use the stock seat belts my man you don't have the proper seats for these harnesses. You get rear ended or t boned and the belts wrap around you you'er fucked.

My 02 type s with 100k miles got hit by a hit an run being chased by the police last year, bent the back of the frame and totaled it as well but luckily engine and tranny are in perfect condition. Going to start a kswap soon! It made me so sad as I've owned the car since 2006
