    One thing which really impressed me for someone with fairly small hands is the way they have curved the trigger around the sides so it can be nudged from the side rather than having to curl my fingers over the top. A really good design. Also the in case charging. I think they have really thought about this device.

    I returned mine. This product isn’t ready yet. Mine got extremely hot and I also had the screen flicker. Many times it froze and I had to do a hard reboot. I got the Deck OLED and I’m extremely happy

    • @devodonaldson
      @devodonaldson 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry about your issues. The flicker isn't a vastly wide spread issue. There are always units with some issues. The thing about a Windows handheld vs something like a Steam Deck, is for best use, the owner NEEDS to be a tinkerer. It's like iOS vs Android. If you want to know it's gonna just work, get an iPhone. If you want a bounty of options and customization, ability to twerk for maximizing results, and are able to handle issues on your own with hardware/software...you are gonna enjoy what you can do with a Windows PC.

    I have just been putting it at 800p, performance mode, 60hz and in game graphics low or medium for the more demanding games. Usually getting between 40 and 60 fps and the games look good. I am loving my GO. Been playing Elden Ring, Atomic Heart, No Mans Sky, Arkham Knights all without issue but I did have a problem with Starfield not launching ... something about drivers.

    To navigate through the bios, just use your fingers; it’s still a touch screen. And that also leads to the second solution. You’ll want to go into the bios to adjust your vram. It defaults to 3GB, but I would change it to 4GB to run most games smoothly, but for Ratchet, you’ll need to crank it to 8GB to get it to run without crashing (had the same issue). There’s a beta bios update out in the wild that enables 6GB of vram as an option, but the official bios update is apparently a week away. Hope that helps.

    • @bigsmoothkaj
      @bigsmoothkaj 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      6 VRAM should essentially become the sweet spot for playing most all of your games, ratchet included. I understand this is the case for the ROG Ally in performance as well.

      I bought both, had many problems with the steamdeck. Returning now. Broke my wifi 6 router, stick drift out of the box. Track pad didn't work on desktop mode. Even flashed the device using there recover tool and it didn't fix these problems.also I don't think the screen is as cracked up to be comparing both side my side in cyberpunk.
      Also unpopular opinion but I think the legion go is more comfortable because your had has somewhere to to hold. Steam deck is really narrow in the grip.

I'm talking Call of Duty, Fortnite, CS and other games... are easier for me to see with the Legion Go screen. Although, I got the SteamDeck OLED but haven't had the chance to compare them yet. So we will see. I'll post a video once I've played the SteamDeck OLED for awhile. Thanks for commenting

      @@digitalmaus I may have misunderstood the sentence when I made that comment. I was thinking you meant the "physical size of the device" not the screen as the Legion Go with controllers is about the same width as the SD. Yes, I always love bigger screens and the Legion Go is sometimes EASIER to pack because you can pop off the controllers and just bring it as a beefy tablet!

    Sadly and painfully I am regrettingly an EA fan 😢 With their anti consumer practices its really hard to play madden and the sims 4 on the go. Every Nintendo direct I was waiting for them to bring these games over to the switch but to no avail. The steam deck software wont allow these games with the anti cheat and the new EA app......seems like EA doesn't want you to play their games portability but with this legion go it looks like that is possible so next month I'm purchasing the legion go and I can't wait! I've been eyeing the legion go and following its development since day one and I'm soooooo close to finally having mine not just for EA games as I have over 800 steam games in my library......so a back catalog of games are definitely waiting for me 😂 to say the least!

      Got it. I run Fortnite and Counterstrike on both devices without any issue. I cant speak fir the other games. I prefer and most frequently use the Legion Go because of the larger screen. However, unless you are OK with fiddling with windows and updates and (in the case if the ROG Ally) possibly having your SD card not working, I personally cannot recommend either of the devices to other people. I would feel good about recommending the SteamDeck OLED. Yes, I have heard about issues with that too. But after having it for two weeks, it has been far less of a hassle. Unless you have to play certain windows games of course...

    • @BK-sx5ps
      @BK-sx5ps 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@npcimknot958I'm torn, just got the Legion Go to try. Vrr is very noticeable when fps fluctuates, but when the fps is high and solid... it's freaking gorgeous. the 1600p display, I can set all graphic settings to low and it's still so sharp! (World of Warcraft). So if you're playing older games that can hold the fps, you are rock solid, but when games cannot, Rog smokes Legion Go in smoothness, you can't tell the fps is fluctuating between 60 - 30.
      Speaker are worse, kinda has a hollow sound... like a boosted civic (too mean?), whereas the Rog speakers are like a V8.
      Ui - I get they will improve upon, but honestly, the starting point itself looks bad. Using the Legion Go makes the Rog feel like a steam deck.
      Battery - Main reason I'm considering this over Rog. It's very disheartening when all you did was turn the game on, look around and your battery drained 5%. With the Rog I feel like I'm on a 1 hr timer as soon as I turn on a demanding game, regardless if I'm interacting in the game or stationary.
      Touchpad - Thought I missed this much more than I actually did from Steam Deck. Realized I don't need it.
      Personally - I like sleek, smaller designs as I plan on carrying this around. Also with how smooth the Rog is to operate now, I will just invest in a great battery bank to carry along.
      Most likely be returning the Go.
