One of the first videos of yours I watched you Bacon and... pinto(?)... were defending a city ( probably Berlin) from the Russians as the Germans. I mostly remember Bacon and his crazy left flank defense with so many hedgehogs.
thanks raptor that was amazing gotta love RobZ modding the extra features of fox holes and trenches makes you feel like it should have been in vanilla\default game, the ability to move ammo out of trucks into creates is unspeakably useful...i personally think and feel that men of war AS2 is the best R.T.S game of world war 2 i`ve seen...it sounds and looks amazing it`s like playing medal of honour but you control the whole battle...It`s far more Epic than battlefield games. very tense and sweaty which is so hard to achieve in a R.T.S game. RobZ mods are just the massive dollop of cream on the cake ;-)

Watched a few of your MoW AS2 videos now and I am really impressed by your defensive work.. When I play coop or Multiplayer I used to just pump out troops and armored vehicles like crazy and just have them cover somewhere along the road... This however a new style of playing, I had no idea you could place hedgehogs or dig huge foxholes.. I new about the sandbags but that was about lol. Thanks for the amazing tutorial, I'll definitely put that to use when I'm playing soon again!
This game in a nutshell. Wait in lobby for 10 minutes, game starts, half your team rage quit, you're left alone, host refuses to restart even its 3 or 4 vs you, other team calls you shit and noob because you lost 3 or 4 vs 1. Great game.
Like your videos and have watched scores of them, but wanted to suggest a couple things. 1) Lay in AT first based upon terrain and expected armor avenues of approach. identify kill zones for AT weapons. This includes Panzerfausts. Use obstacles (AT mines and hedgehogs) to route vehicles into kill zones at desired ranges (based upon AT penetration at range) and for lateral shots (enfilade fire). Your AT was layed well to cover the field and camouflaged so you would get to fire the first shot so use AT mines to deny each of the roads and then use hedgehogs sloping into the center of your line to force the tank to move diagonally to your front, or go straight into your infantry line (then worst case kill with AT grenade if you can hold back/kill the infantry) As a side note it is best to employ AT in pairs supporting each other. Since the game does not provide for smoke from mortars (dropped on the tank), if an AT weapon is at risk from direct fire have infantry throw smoke in front of the gun before it is killed and it will make it harder to be targeted, but because the tank is in sight of other units it can still be shot by the AT 2) Lay in key machine guns and mortars to cover infantry avenues of approach (probably using the cover on your right front moving along the wall). With this in mind I would use AA gun and one MG on the right but separated to avoid both being suppressed by the same resources with the primary sector of fire across the squad platoon front but plan for secondary sector to flank. Use the fold in the hill to protect the flank of the AA gun to a degree. The downside to it is does not have a sandbag bunker and it will draw fire because it is so noticeable when fired. Use obstacles (AP mines) to deny obvious cover (hay bails) ,dead space (folds in the ground you MGs can not cover), and alternate attack routes(provides early warning/eliminates surprise as well as slowing the attack and inflicting initial casualties). I would place the mortar on the edge of the road behind the line. a) they do not have to see the enemy and will fire at whatever any soldier sees in sector b) protected from any direct fire (like tank on AA gun) c) a resupply truck parked next to the mortar will continuously resupply it with rounds and still be protected. The truck does not have to be occupied for this to work. 3) Lay in infantry to secure the assets above from infantry attack. You are building 3 and potentially 4 types of positions. a)Primary covering front I prefer 2-3man wholes for this b)secondary covering front and relocatable to if primary is suppressed I prefer trench for this c)alternate covering alternative avenues of approach. Since you can relocate between holes under fire start the engagement spread out to counteract surprise, then consolidate resources(without bunching up) when the main attack axis of advance has been identified. The 4th type of position are "dummy" positions to draw fire. This does not work against AI but when playing another player the sandbags of an unoccupied mortar position or sandbags near camouflaged positions will draw fire, reducing the effective fire on manned positions. 4) Use LP/OP locations to detect enemy movement before it hits you line. Each road in were infantry approaches with some cover. A soldier about half way up on each side could be put in return fire mode to remain hidden then run back to the lines when infantry approach. This is particularly important if you play with the fog of war running. If the enemy is within mortar range the mortar will engage due to the LP/OP seeing the enemy. If undetected he can blunt an attack before it even jumps off. A 5 man ambush can also be very effective, but the terrain in this video did not support that approach. As a side note, I am new to the game (actually bought it after watching one of your videos) but I am a West Point Grad and spent 7 years in the infantry, part of which was commanding an AT unit in the 101st Airborne so my suggestions are based in real world experience. That said, i could never operate the game with the flow that you possess. Thanks for your videos.
Could somebody explain what barbed wire does? I assume it just damages infantry that walk through it, so I use it mostly as a funneling tool for base defense. Should I be laying it anywhere in particular (behind cover etc) or should I primarily use ap mines? My computer can’t run Robz btw.

One day I hope a game like this but, much more streamlined to where it feels viable to do in game during a normal scenario(all the micro is tedious and take so much time paired with my lack of skill, I find it hard to keep engaged in combat and fortifying postions,Maybe Ill try this mod and see if it helpls. For some reason my units won’t place foxholes. They go through the entire animation but then just stand there and the foxhole wasn’t even dug. I’m doing exactly what raptor is doing in the video. Any help?
Another dirty trick that the Germans actually did in WW2: Create a fake cover position in front of your lines that would be tempting for an attacking enemy to hide behind, and mine it. The whole put a barbed wire on the left and right of the mines is also an actual trick they used. Fence off two fields with barbed wire, put "mines" signs on them, but only place mines on the narrow road between the fields.

My favourite mod is Everything Stay. Dead soldiers and weapon on the ground wouldn't disappear. I'm the type of player who like to loot. Been doing that since the first Men of War. I usually arm each of my men with MG, SMG & rifle per person.

I suggest you to learn the basics, then download robz from workshop. And here are other workshop mods that you have to try! Great war realism mod, Born in the fire: america mod, valour and 1943 Stalingrad.
Units will auto resupply if you bring them within the white circle. Be sure that vehicles are near a 'heavy' ammo box (tanks, artillery, AT guns) and infantry resupply at infantry crates/trucks. 'Special' ammo resupplies white phosphorous HVAT and APCR rounds (and other types of special ammo).

No, if you have played faces of war or men of war 1 but you should play 3 to 4 campaign missions first if you are totally new.
Just a tip, download the Great war mod from workshop. It's a ww1 mod. And it's amazing!

Units will auto resupply if you bring them within the white circle. Be sure that vehicles are near a 'heavy' ammo box (tanks, artillery, AT guns) and infantry resupply at infantry crates/trucks. 'Special' ammo resupplies white phosphorous HVAT and APCR rounds (and other types of special ammo).
