I love how Knox and Ellie and Knox and Ellie and Knox and Ellie and Knox sang Scylla. Perfectly encapsulates the beautifully haunting and threatening vibes of the original.
The vocal layering is actually insane on this
Your voices on this song are SO SMOOTH?? It’s like in the vocal sweet spot for y’all ugh 😭♥️
thank you so much Loganne! This one was soooo much fun to edit us together 🥰 -ellie
omg this was sooo refreshing because i feel like others weren't getting the right pitch !
This is the best cover out there for SCYLLA :)
THANK YOU FOR MAKING MORE EPIC THE MUCICAIL SONGS❤❤❤❤
I am SO happy y'all posted this, I love Scylla-
YALL HAVE SOME TALENTTTTT
THIS IS AMAZING
Nice!
I LOVE THIS
LOVE IT
The harmonies are awesome! How did you layer the vocals?
jorge has a tutorial on his page for the big harmony part at the end! ill let ellie explain her production process tho
thank you so much!! this one ended up being huuuuge hahaha. I started with getting mine and knox's scylla takes as close as possible in terms of just vocal performance, then in editing, I added some varying interchanging volume levels between our takes to have each of us "take center stage" so to speak at varying times in our lead vocal performance, then bounced those two takes into one lead scylla take. then I tuned our combined take to the scylla harmonies, also tuned our individual takes to those harmonies, and added a second take of our lead line to the mix to be able to play with panning and give our lead a feeling of subtle but constant movement and texture across the speakers. I basically went crazy with binaural panning for all the harmonies and backing vocals, both for scylla and the soldiers, but with much less movement around the listener on the soldiers. the soldier harmonies also had varying options with different vocal takes and formant shifting and pitch shifting to make it sound like more than two people.
super long and confusing answer hahahaha, but I believe the final project ended up with over 50 different vocal tracks in the final mix! I basically wanted to create as much movement as possible in the harmonies and lead track as possible, so it felt like scylla's heads were wrapping all around you any time she sang!

@@ellieandknox wow thank you! That was super detailed. 50 vocal tracks?! I can’t imagine how much patience that took. It payed off though it sounds great
