It’s said that the reason he has his helmet on is because of his baby face depending on the timeframe you look at. So it does make sense since he would be defensive around Athena
2:302:31 I like that multiple animatics and animators depict Ares' arrival, giving Athena a headache. Since they are opposites and Ares is breaking her "quick thought".
First off, I love how you pretty much managed to PERFECTLY pull off Aphrodite’s “petty hot girl” look both in design and the expressions, plus the red eyes that just add to her features with the emotions she gives off. The second thing is, I LOVE the whole scene between her and ares and Athena as a whole pretty much. Like. For one. Athena not being happy at *all* when she goes to Aphrodite, and even worse when it’s Ares, because in the myths, the three of them do not get along at ALL, (Aphrodite and ares don’t get along with Athena I mean, they both have beef with her) and also because they’re both opposites to Athena in different ways. Athena is Logic, Aphrodite is emotion. Athena is the civility and strategy of war, Ares is the cruelty and chaotic side of war. One thing about it I love ESPECIALLY is Ares just breaking through quick-thought and throwing hands with Athena. Both because not only is that pretty in character for ares in the myth, but in her conversations with Apollo, Hephaestus, and Hera, even with Zeus, Athena tries to reason with all of them. Appealing to apollos apathy, Hephaestus’ kindness, and Hera’s dedication to marriage. But with Aphrodite and ares, she has to physically and mentally FORCE her views onto them, not only because they’re opposites in almost every sense, but also because they both have no respect for the logic she offers. Aphrodite is all about how she feels on the situation, and ares only cares about strength. So that entire scene is great because it shows how she has to basically force them to see it her way. P.S: I’m Sol Badguy

Apollo with his halo and glowing “tattoos”. Hephaestus with his majestic Plato-esque beard. Aphrodite’s little “wings” in her hair. Ares’s broken Spartan helmet and hat wings and greatsword to contrast Athena’s owl wings and spear. Hera’s magnificent crown and comfy stay at home dress.
I love your how you handle the scene with Athena, Ares, and Aphrodite. I have watched other animations and usually have Athena intimidate Ares and Aphrodite into releasing Odysseus. In your version, Athena's passion and determination won them over.

I think Ares was always a very handsome god, as he often depicted as a young clean shaven man I think. Plus he like his father taken tons on lovers and had many children but unlike Zeus he cared for all his children and often came to their defense and protected them even from other gods (Zeus himself once or twice before).
A few other things I caught that I didn't notice before but that I love! First, Athena remembers to bow before Zeus when he comes down the stairs, many versions forget that detail. Zeus is father to like half of the Olympian gods and a sibling to the other half, but they still respect him and his authority as king. The Sculptures of Ares makes him hot, lol
@@botl7k213 really? Honestly I have never seen a statue of Ares I have to search them up
Hephaestus: I spent an entire month forging that sword, that metal was rare even by the standards of the divine, I was originally going to give it to a hero to slay some monster, but instead I gave it to you as a peacd offering and a symbol of trust. And you go and turning into a fucking spear right in front of me!?
THE ARM AT THE END AAAHHHHH!!!
Also absolutely LOVING how much your style has emotions and movement. You've grown so much since I first watched Different Beast from you. Keep going!! I'm excited to see what else you do.
So does anyone else hear “he’s pretty skilled with birds” instead of words when talking to Hera?
GiGi sure did first pass XD
I can kinda hear it
"DIDN'T EVEN TRY TEQUILA!"
The touch that Hera catches her at the end there. Absolutely *chef's kiss*
One of my favorite artful versions of Ares. I like how his cape also becomes wings.
Ares' design is amazing, I'm in love with the wings and broken helmet 😭
I freaking love how Ares drops in all badass with the music. Absolutely perfect and how I pictured it in my head too.
I love how bored Apollo was LMAOOO
Poseidon: " HEY DON'T I GET A SAY IN THIS I WAS IN THE TROJAN WAR TOO YOU KNOW I HELPED AND I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH ODESSYES!!! "
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING TOO
But if he was there, i dont think Athena's reasons gonna stand a chance, he'll just straight up say "NO"
My thoughts exactly!!!! He also hates Athena after the whole Athens thing so screwing with both of them would have been like Christmas come early for him.
@@Broadwaygirl01 well this was during the time of the Trojan War so he was on her side during the whole Trojan War thing Athena Hera and Poseidon were all on the side of Odysseus and King Agamemnon to get Helen of Troy back
Zeus: Poseidon, shut it. I decide the judges, I’m the king of the gods, it’s my game. Also, she’s my kid…..
@@Cell287 poseidon : " oh its I am the Judge when it's convenient for you I leget crime so what he broke his mom heart he stabbed my son instead of killing him he's a coward. So where's my justice heaven for bid if it's one of your children then you get the fail say. Hades would be a better king than you. "
My exact reaction to the start “oo Athena looks co- OH HES HOT”😭
Again.. hes hot AGAIN
@@alana.dyer.author FR💀 LIKE SOMEONE MAKE HIM NOT HOT. PLEASE.
@@Itgirlstotallyhow do you think he got all those children?
@@Oursn1 fair, though he ain’t got the most in Greek mythology
@@Itgirlstotallywho is the god with the most? I always feel like they say that Zeus has the most
The ending sequence is the best I’ve seen yet. Such a beautiful combination of the flashback and Athena pushing on
EVERYTHING about this is perfect! No god is done dirty or put in a bad light. The character designs are amazing. Just like the relationship between the gods. And the effort put into this?? Great work!
Aphrodite really said talk to my man not me
The best part is that Hera immediately agrees to release Odyssey when Athena says "never once has he cheated on his wife" 😂 because Zues... Well y'know
The fact that aphrodite was like, “yeah, you thought you could try that with me?? My man is here now 🥴”
I love how they all have their own unique designs it adds such complexity and there all so unique!!
I love how Aphrodite and Aries are just cant be fucked. And hera's voice omggggggg 🤌🤌🤌
2:29 THAT LOOK, It's so good!
I love seeing how every animator interprets the Ares clash
Love how the characters take a bit of visual inspiration from the people who voice them!!!
Love the gods' designs
Hera with the peacock feather earrings n her hair styled like the peacock's tail or crown
even hera's helpers are like "DAMN she got you there!"
5:15 wait who catches her because that is not Zeus hand
I don't mean to brag but it was me
Symbolic for her wanting to be Odysseuses friend again?
It looks to be Hera.
Ah ok
I call Hermes
THE ARES ENTRANCE WAS INSANE.
Athena: "Never once has he cheated on his wife."
Zeus: *"HM!?" >:(*
I absolutely love Hera's design in this, her ishicholo is a wonderful touch, same with her peacock feathers, she really stands out more here than the other deities.
