- I’ve been waiting for this song to be released for so long! And now, my take on it is finally here! I ended up reusing my old animatic of the Hera, Aphrodite & Ares section because I just can’t picture it any other way. Even though Hera sounds a bit different from the demo version in her delivery, it still works.
It’s funny-my first Epic animatic was Hera, and I swear I had no idea so many of you would like my content. Even less did I expect that Jorge would commission me to make the animatic for the livestreams! Its like a wonderful circle! Never thought I would be here as it is. Thank you all for watching and liking my content!

He’s the big brother, that occasionally teases his siblings.
The aegis(the shields actual name) just has the face of Medusa as an intimation tactic as every creature seems to know not to look at that face

Details I noticed that I like:
☆ The shield turns into snakes, Athenas other signature animal.
☆ Apollo has what I think is a Hythathinsis (can't spell it but the flower) on his instrument. Cause of his dead lover.
☆ Hera being HUGE cause she's a MUCH MORE powerful God.
☆ Hera looking SOOOOOOO annoyed when Zues starts acting up.
☆ TELEMUCHUS GIVINGVHER STRENGTH????? AHHHHHH

Also, the shield allegedly had the face of Medusa (who notably has snakes for hair) on it, so that’s another reference.
@@haileymullican335 Not just depicting the face, if I may add. According to myth, when Medusa was slain by having her head cut off, the severed head was offered to Athena by the hero who killed her, since it was Athena who gave him the means to achieve the task. The goddess decided to place the monster's head on her shield, allegedly letting her use the petrifying gaze Medusa was feared for unto whoever looked into the aegis.

I love when Athena is moving between the different 'arenas' to clash with the gods, she looks determined or ready to go. But when going to Aphrodite she just has a -_- face on like she's already tired of dealing with her.
She didn't even get to Aphrodite yet and was already annoyed 😂

4:15 I love how while the other gods are looking at Zeus horrified, Hera is turned away from him, looking more disappointed than anything. Almost like she knew Zeus would probably do something like this, and she can’t bear to watch. I love this animatic SO MUCH!!!
yep. Despite not being her daughter Athena is the only child of zeus that she doesn't hate for not being from her since its not a product of cheating... and she looks angry that he is doing this to her. She still can't raise her voice because he is god of all gods ofcourse but I bet she will find a child of zeus on earth to torment after they are done :D

YO that split second frame of Athena's face as she's attacked by Zeus was horrifying at first. It really caught me off guard.

At first I thought it was her expression too, but if you play back 4:20 at 0.25 speed it's Medusa's head (said in another comment, but wanted to help)

I love how Athena is standing before Odysseus in the flashback as her divine animal form, her presence absolutely chilling, dominating, eldritch... But Odysseus only sees his friend and lets her hold his newborn son. It's very beautiful.
ALSO, THE WAY YOU ANIMATED ZEUS GOING FULL POWER MODE AND ATHENA FIGHTING HER WAY UP THE STAIRS WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! AND MEDUSA'S FACE ON THE SHIELD!?

4:20 Nice touch with the blink-and-you'll-miss it of Athena pulling out Medusa's head. At first you might think it's Athena screaming but it's only when you play it slow motion that you realize it's actually Athena flinching as she holds up Medusa's severed head, a reference to how Medusa's head is now a permanent part of Athena's personal shield Aegis

I love how Athena seems trying to look brave and bold... until lightning hits and puts light to her eyes revealing horror in her eyes for what his father is about to do
first she looks like ready to hold her ground... but no she is frozen in fear.
also I love how aprhodite is behind Hephaestus at the end because despite loving Ares she is married to him so ofcourse she is supposed to be with her husband :D
by the way... ANGER in Hephaestus face... oh my god. Once again an olympian is tormenting a child of theirs and he knows how horrible it is

Gods, the way Hera doesn't even look at Zeus when he's throwing his tantrum speaks volumes of just how freaking *done* she is with his shit, lol. I also found the way Ares was shielding his siblings and his boo with his cape really endearing for some reason, perhaps because it almost emphasizes the worry in his voice when he questions Athena's well-being. Despite their disagreements, she's still family. Also love how you drew Athena's final plea towards her father - her gently holding onto his hand while she's literally on her knees, looking absolutely WRECKED, shows Zeus that yes: to her, Odysseus really is worth the risk of going under.

Ares, just like Athena, is war oriented, and for every war, you need something to fight for. For many, and apparently Ares, that is family. Even if they all hate him
the Ares thing is also because he is not evil or even that cruel. he hold the title of protector of women and is the patron god of the amazons. one of his stories is about how he risked tartuous for the sake of one of his daughters. Ares is a mommas boy, alittle soft, and does cheat with brother wife all the time, but when the chips are down he does live up the his title of the god of war.

Love how much snake imagery Athena has, it’s like she’s constantly thinking of Medusa, keeping parts close to her (like her head). That must have been a really complicated relationship.

Eh, to be fair, Athena changing Medusa is an Ovid thing.
So it depends wether Epic (and Anna) is using Ovid's or Hesiod's version of her origin story.
I loved everything about this, but i really liked how Ares shielded the others from the power blasts after zeus stuck Athena.❤
I love Hera's design so much, in terms of the use of the peacock as her main animal, realiting to her groovy personality and about her dysfunctional relationship with Zeus, I love this so muchhh

Love the concerned and disapproving expressions on the gods/goddesses when Zeus refused to accept Athena's victory! And that tiny detail of Aphrodite being back by Haphaestus' side ✨
I LOVE THIS SOOO MUCH .The details of the other gods being surprised while Hera is not shocked in the slightest and then Zeus’ transformation is just chef kiss ❤❤❤

Holy peak, your Athena radiates so much personality! Her and Zeus' flip-flopping between forms was insane, not to mention your signature character acting and expressions. You absolutely outdid yourself Anna! I could not have asked for a better artist to get me into Epic.

THIS WAS SO COOL??? like the silouhettes when zeus named everyone she had to convince, the hyacinths in apollo’s hair, the doves w aphrodite, ares and athena having similar helmets, hera being so much bigger than everyone else (and like athena dancing along was also a cute detail, the thunder from zeus illuminating the fear on athena’s face when the helmet masked it all, athena fighting back through all her different forms??? AUGH THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

I appreciate how this depicts two symbols of Athena that I feel are underrepresented, those being that snake and the gorgon. All the little details in this is amazing
The fact that athena was constantly changing into different forms in order to reach zeus for her final plead. her shield braking under the strain it's been put under using her own hands as shields makes that scene so epic. also a bunch of little things like ares using his cloak to protect the others. the fact we see athena's eyes not obscured by the shadows of her helmet makes her more emotionally vulnerable when she is looking at baby telemachus and taking on zeus's barage.and everything in this animatic hits just so good, and all the other parts you drew before flow into each other really well. This is my favorite god games animatic of all time.

Genuinely, from the heart, this is my favourite EPIC animatic, tied with Gigi’s Monster. I love the designs for the gods and to have what Jorge describes as Zeus’s ‘Beast Mode’, being depicted as Zeus literally turning into his symbolic mythological forms is amazing.
I hope this video doesn’t get suppressed in the algorithm because of Aphrodite.

I LOVED all the references you crammed into this. I also loved the designs, as though the more powerful they get, the more monstrous, and the more scaled up (I loved Hera's design, actually, the way she's completed covered, only briefly revealed before her handmaidens cover her again, as though the constraints Zeus has put on her, and the nature of their marriage itself, weighs her down). At first I didn't get the snake thing but oh yeah _Medusa._ I also loved the way you showed Ares' power affecting Athena with the eyes, and the way power shifted back and forth. SO GOOD.
Your initial Hera animation was my introduction to Epic, and it's so incredible to finally get to see the finished product! Absolutely incredible job from start to finish. I love the use of color, height, and animal aspects to really drive home the power the gods have and that they really, REALLY aren't human. That brief flicker of terror on Athena's face with all the snakes, her fight up the stairs, Zeus's different forms.... All absolutely incredible. Love it!

Also The other gods looking at his rage in horror but Hera just to the side looking down in disappointment, really shows how this is routine in their marriage. Especially in Greek marriages where wives are just barely seen but never heard.

Uggh, this is perfection. Zeus materializing out of clouds and shmoozing over Athena, Zeus having a bull's horns because of the Europa myth. The way Aphrodite's hair moves when she enters quick-thought. The ways Ares starts his verse by towering over Athena, trying to intimidate her with his size. So many details I could go on naming. This is really top tier.

I hope the Medusa's head upon the shield is not actually sentient. There has to be a limit to the sufferings Gods are willing to inflict upon mortal beings.
The sheer fluidity of the gods forms is BEAUTIFUL!!! They shift so smoothly, EXCELLENTLY portraying the fact that theyre wayyy above mortals in that sense... like theyre a river, constantly moving and shifting

Hera's outfit being a long gown and veil because she's the goddess of marriage is such a cool detail! Also that whole sequence of Zeus transforming was terrifying! You really outdid yourself with this!!
i kinda liked that both Zeus and Hera both have horns it kinda shows that they're sibling.
Look, I saw the earlier clips so I already knew this would be a banger. But the sequence from 4:35 had me *sobbing.* The desperation as Athena cycles through various forms, how she gained strength from the memory of her friends, and eventually reaching out with a charred hand to beg not for her life but that of someone else... ugh. UUuugggghhhh. I was not ready to burst into tears at this time of day, but well done. Well done. Thank you.

I love just how much mythology was used for the characters like Athena having the head of Medusa at her disposal and all the animal transformations near the end. AnniFlamma really brought their A game with this. Can't wait to see what other animatics you make!
AHHHHHH!!! THIS WAS AMAZING!!!! I like how Hera is on the other side of Zeus, alone, like her just being married to Zeus or even just because she's queen, completely isolates her from the rest of the Olympians. Also when Zeus went all "SHOW HER I'M THE JUDGEMENT CALL!!" the rest of the Olympians are scared (even Athena is afraid) or uneasy at best. Meanwhile Hera isn't scared or even uneasy, she just has a face that makes me feel like she sees this side of Zeus FAR more than the other Olympians do. Saying so much about their relationship in just one scene, *chief's kiss* beautiful!
Another detail I liked is that Athena's sheild turns into Medusa's head when she wears it around her neck, because in the myth Medusa's face is on her sheild to like scare off others as if Athena herself wasn't scary enough, and when Zeus attacks the last thing we see before the flash is Medusa's face snarling at him, implying that her sheild was summoned (or acted on it's own) and protected her, which we see when it cuts back to Athena using the sheild

YES YES IM SO HAPPY YOU KEPT THE ORIGINAL PARTS YOU DID A WHILE BACK I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS???? the part where zeus enters beast mode… the way you can see athena’s eyes with each flash oh my god. and the way hers stands separately from the other gods during it?? the way there’s no surprise on her face like the others?? she KNOWS zeus! she knew he wouldn’t just allow athena to win. aphrodite and ares’s part still is as amazing as it was months back, the amount of symbolism you do with each god and everything you do with athena oh my god 😭 your athena design is a favorite of mine out of all the ones in the fandom. this is amazing per usual, i was so happy to see it on my recommended 💖💖 i could talk about it all day ur so talented 🥹

I LOVE EACH DESIGN! They're all so unique and have specific traits to them to differentiate!
I love the way you play with the shapes and sizes of the gods. Having them grow huge or transform into an animal not only looks great but emphasizes their godliness. Your old God Game animatics were some of my favorite for the whole series, and this final one did not disappoint. I also like this version of Hera more than the stream version, though that one does have its charm.
God there are so many details in this that I am just amazed by!!!
Ive seen a few of these indvidual but god. The final segment is so so good. Like Athena using the Morgon head agains tthe lighting. Her having feathers that do get ruffled!
