If he wants a linear progression like terraria, it's not the game he's searching for.

The guy who created the mod could easily play RLCraft if he's that bored of normal, simple vanilla minecraft, or if he wants something on the non-fantasy side, then go with better than wolves. Bro the vid was trash. Minecraft isnt about just killing the dragon and getting op. The game is about building and creating a world by gathering recources and crafting cool blocks. Hence the name minecraft. If the game was mainly about getting better loot and killing bosses the game would be called terraria. Im no tubbo fanboy like this is the first vid of his that i have clicked on in months so im mot just defending for his sake lol. Minecraft is about a creating a fun world of your own with or without friends and creating a home that you can call your own. Of all you want is to upgrade gear and fight bosses then terraria is the perfect game because that is literally what it is designed for. Minecraft simply isnt. Jetstarfish sees the game only by its “progression”, which is what, killing a boss to “beat” the game? and then he complains that a SINGLE part of a huge multifaceted game isnt exactly like how other games do it. (this may have been exaggerated.)
Yeah I feel that the way jet approaches critiquing Minecraft is similar to UnderTheMayo’s review of Ultrakill. Both sandbox games that support many play styles but have one big focus in mind, creativity. It’s okay to play how you want but it’s not okay to misconstrue or misinterpret the game’s main goal, play how you think/want to play it, and then criticize it for not doing a good job in that field. It’s like watching a horror movie with a subtle romantic couple and complaining about how little development between the lovers’ love life., while yes it hinted or showed the couple onscreen but it’s clearly not what the movie wanted to be nor do. Anyone can play any game how they want and that’s fine, it’s a problem only when they take how they play and get mad that it’s not supported by the game especially if the game wasn’t made for how they play
Tubbo is clearly trying to deny the fact that minecraft has gotten boring. Most if not all of us use mods to make the game not boring. And the progression is weak, so i'm with Jetstarfish on this one
