I’m running an s482 82mm with 1.45 housing. Spool time isn’t bad with the 1000 horse cam and 58 injectors in it. With a 435 tune in the ecm it’s putting a little over 800 to the ground. EGTs stay under control as long as it’s not a 6 mile pull. Pretty dirty until it the turbo lights. Fuel mileage will run between 5-5.5 at 120k gross

1996 mechanical 3406c 425hp stock turbo wastegated max 25 psi boost 7to8mile per gall
12.7 Detroit, custom cam and Billett turbo through Serious Series 60 in PA. Custom tune from DCS, ceramic coated exhaust manifold and pistons, PDI balancer, injectors are flow matched from SS60, Davco fuel setup, truck dyno'd 734 at the flywheel, 606hp at the ground. It's not earth shattering, still manage 6.5-6.8 pulling flatbed.

Just so you know, Caterpillar still makes the 3406C mechanically injected and jacket water aftercooled engine for 3rd world countries that do not want an electronic engine. The 3406C is basically a 3406B with some upgrades-but is not smog compliant.

i have a 143mm turbo and a 95mm turbo the spoll time for the 143mm is 7 secents and the spoll time for the 95mm is 4 secents. got 840hp in my pete
