  • Todd Tuckey joins Fonzie for a game of Pinball at Arnolds...and then Todd shows you how nice this machine turned out! Stunning original paint on the playfield...only needed a bit of touch up...look at that side art too! Also, see Gottlieb's PANTHERA Pinball progress.

    I use to play this same themed machine so much and got so good on it, I could stand there for hours playing on one quarter just racking up the games, would sure like to get my hands on one. What great memories. Also, a guy had side blinded me once right in front of the machine and a fell back busted my head open, had to get my head and lip stitched up along with knocking my front tooth out. He was mad or jealous because I was winning so many free games, I felt someone tap me on the shoulder and when I turned my head to see who it was, bam! Didn’t even see it coming.

    When I was a kid my friend's parents had this machine brand new...We would play for hours against each other....I don't think it was officially Fonzi on there, but that's how it was back then.

    I'm not usually a fan of LEDs on most classic pins, but they do look great on this pin.

    I played this game for hours at the arcade way back when. In the Happy Days clip is the Nip-It machine. I remember playing that one too.

    This is a great game, I first played this back around 1980, the last time I played it was back in 1986 at the County Fair in an arcade tent, and I played very well and got all the billiard balls, and got the 5x scoring numerous times when the the ball was in play.

    What's up Todd? I just happened to stumble across this video. I remember those days when we would play freedom in your backyard and afterwards you would let us play all of the games in your garage. Good times.

    Ooh! I have Bally Eight Ball! The knocker still works, as far as I know. Scares me every time.
    Mine is super dusty inside and has worn-out bulbs, fading segments on the scoreboard, and one chime out, but everything essential to the game's proper operation still works perfectly, i.e. the circuitboards, the bumpers, the paddles, the sensors, etc. It just needs some love on the cosmetic front.
    I also have the Bally Repair Manual F-560-1 and the schematics for the electronics, which I'm not sure I'm supposed to have. The schematics have a note saying they are the sole property of Bally and that only the owner of the arcade operating the machine is authorized to have them. Either way, I was able to use them to trace the wire that leads to the faulty chime. It briefly started working again after I jiggled the wire (while unplugged, safety first y'all). So I know the chime works, and the computer correctly tells the chime when to work, but the wire is bad. How hard is it to replace a wire?

    Have you seen the software glitch that's on the maverick pinball machine ? The the ball lock under the boat doesn't always lock the ball right away and there is a delay in which it will either not lock it at all or will fire the switch as it finally shoots off from the boat,lol

    That pinball machine in the Happy Days sequence is also seen in a few shots in the music video of Weezer's Buddy Holly. It's Nip it (1973) from Bally. 8-ball came out nice. I rather prefer the Eight-ball tables with the speech (Deluxe and Champ).

      I love Nip-It, but since the table's from 1973, and Happy Days is supposed to take place sometime between 1955 and 1963, eehhhhhh it doesn't properly mesh with the show.
      A 1950 Gottlieb Knock Out, or a 1957 Gottlieb Ace High, would have been acceptable.

      anyone put that as a goof on imdb.com :) I love finding those. My favourite Apollo 13 they switch in one picture from a cassette that looks like it came from the early 70's to one made by Gemini I know was the design from the early 90's (cause it was the best 1-3 tape packs cheap around) Recoton and others Laser not as good. I could go on about this but I'm just laughing there. not the expensive tapes but the $1 tapes in a bag. (Don't think they make those anymore although even the nice ones w/o screws sometimes I could fix those. Sometimes 8-tracks as long as they aren't unwound.

    Curious on that first machine, after doing touch ups do you apply clearcoat, mylar, or something else?

    • @tntamusements
      @tntamusements  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adam Saylor In this case, we put NOTHING on the playfield. The touchups were minor and we didn;t want it on the field. The man buying it will give it minimal play and will keep it waxed to protect the touchups.
