Anyone with the blood of Zanza can activate the monado, but only Dunban had the willpower to actively control it. Shulk can control it just fine because up until this cutscene he was basically Zanza. Secondly, Shulk didn't die, at least not this time. What Alvis brought back was the part of Shulk Zanza never had complete control over, the small little part of Shulk that remained after Dickson began using Shulk as a vessel. It's why he can still use the Monado Arts despite the Monado being a replica, because despite it being Zanza's power, Shulk is on his way to finding his Monado. Also, I know Mythra and Malos are powerful, but they're not the shape the entire universe powerful
Can I just compliment the excellent sound design/compositions in this game? The sound of Fiora’s cannon drones leading into the music is so innovative and cool!

But he doesn’t think they’d have a single chance. He’s more neutral We then have alvis who actively helps the group. And then the other bitch who’s against them. Good. Neutral (or split) and evil.
It's my interpretation that Dickson was always of two minds about his betrayal. On one hand, he has the job he was given by Zanza, and his loyalties to his master. But on the other hand, I think he genuinely grew attached to Shulk and friends. He seemed like he started feeling his doubts as early as Satorl Marsh, and still held onto them into the endgame. I choose to believe that the reason he had such a 180 in his character, turning into a gloating cartoon villain, was more a front to make the party hate him for what he did, giving them a villain to fight, while hiding his guilty conscience.
