The 2 trillion thing is a myth. It was already announced a year before, Rumsfeld only mentioned it in a speech the day prior. It also was more like losing the receipts and invoices to prove exactly the amount spent on each thing.

They will never do this, let's be honest. They already showed how ballsy Activision wants to be by fumbling the most iconic moment in COD: the "No Russian" scene from 2023 MW3. It's laughable how bad that scene was executed in that game, and it was clearly to avoid any backlash from "people" who would be mad about it.
If Treyarch is able to pull it off, they would have my respect. But it is Activision publishing the game, so we know how much they value money.

This is a really dumb theory when you take into account the fact the jets did not have armaments. By “shooting down” the hijacked planes, what is actually meant is crashing into them. The pilots were willing to scramble and commit suicide by ramming their jets to save more people, but the terrorist flying the plane intentionally crashed it to kill the people on board before they were able to take control.

Cod didn't have the balls to do no Russian again, instead of letting the player play through and mow down Innocent civilians, they had a cutscene where you are constantly reminded "YOU ARE NOT THE BAD GUY YOU ARE FORCED TO DO THIS, YOU ARE GOOD GUY" Cod isn't that game the small group of kids at school played that maybe got bullied for playing games, games specially cod is a game everyone plays to be part of the trend where playing games is main stream and now cool kids play the slop games. Cod is to main stream to do anything risky and if it tries to it will be heavily watered down, if 9/11 is even in the game, it will either be talked about and not an actual scene to pay, and if they even have the smallest balls to make it a scene, it will remove all control from the player and pretty much be a cutscene instead of a full interactive bit where the player is either on the plane well it's being hijacked trying to stop it, or in the tower trying to navigate the building as it falls.
Also people will pre order this, we will keep repeating this song and dance everytime non stop. this is nothing new.

The water for the fire suppression system was on top of the towers, skyscrapers do that to take advantage of water pressure from gravity. There was also two literal building collapses that rained fire and debris all over WTC 7. Massive fire, no fire suppression system, no firefighters left alive to fight the fire. The fire department had engineers that assessed the building and realized it was unstable due to the extremem heat from an unchallenged blaze softening the steel. The hotter steel was more malleable and prone to stress. These collapses are uncommon because we usually have sprinklers fighting the fire and then fire fighters. This is what happens when a blaze last for a couple of hours unattended. It also was not the only time this has happened. Similar structures have collapsed due to fire, it is rare, but because situations like 9/11 are very uncommon and happen very infrequently.

Didn’t that happen with one of the planes.. the passengers managed to stop the terrorist before htey got to their destination. I would think thats going to be one of the missions.. but its not the planes that hit the towers
the pennsylvania flight was late enough that some of the passengers found out what happened on the other planes and saw something happening on theirs. no one knows what happened next, but its assumed the passengers fought annd the plane crashed in a field instead of into anything else

Yahtzee got this topic so spot on when he reviewed Modern Warfare 2 (2009). Cod4 had the nuclear bomb, and it worked because of the shock. More importantly, the player playing as the private during the fallout, slowly dying, brought the reality of such a weapon into focus.
However, modern warfare 2 and 3 included No Russian and a family being blown up in London as a way of using controversy to help market a game. Yahtzee believed that these two instances were used specifically for the media coverage, not as a lesson for the player. It’s just Call Of Duty chasing some ‘look how edgy we are bollocks’.
The Nuke in Cod4 was shocking because of how muted the developers used the detonation and aftermath. More importantly, the scene wasn’t used in promo for Cod4.
Playing 9/11, I personally think is Call of Duty using the controversy to help market the game. Furthermore, as the families of the dead are still alive, and the White House is still very vague with declassifying documents, this rumour leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.
But who am I at the end of the day. I’m just a passer through.

The mission "No Russian" was daring because the game forced us to play terrorists and shoot civilians. This is what made this mission significant and shocking. If this time we play the military (the good side) it won't have as much impact, just like the MW2 remaster. We played the victims and not the actors of the massacre.
No Russian wasn’t real though. Treyarch normally have some realism in there. Like when you headshot Fidel Castro in Black Ops. Or have Nazis. Or whatever. None of MW2 was based off of anything real or real people. That’s why Black Ops rocks. No Russian was definitely a talking point but Treyarchs games got banned in multiple countries.
